Check out the amazing GI Joe Classified Series reveals and preorders from Hasbro’s Fan First Tuesday (April 26, 2022) live stream
During Hasbro’s Fan First Tuesday live stream we had some amazing reveals and preorders for the GI Joe Classified Series and funny enough, the the O-Ring line was not to be found. Ahead of this event, we had a slew of predictions that we would hope to see based on the leaks, rumors and the reveals from the GI Joe 40th Anniversary Live Stream from February 2022 that covered the GI Joe Classified Series and the O-Ring line reveals. Since this live stream just focused on the mainline and retro Classified Series, they did hint at more news coming for YoJoe June!
GI Joe Classified Series Reveals
Snake Eyes and Timber Version 2
This set is a repaint/retool of the first Snake Eyes and Timber version and was inspired by Renegades/Resolute style. The figure has green pants and gray armor detailing and it’s nice to see Snake Eyes in a color other than Black. The visor is silver and figure is a mashup of previous versions of Snake Eyes. The cool thing is that you can do a head swap with the Snake Eyes and Timber version one to get the vintage Snake Eyes v2 look that was released in 1985. As for Timber, they wanted to go with a classic white/gray color to pay homage to the vintage figure.
Retro Classified Series Zartan
This is the third version of Zartan and they wanted to go with the 80’s Sunbow vibe with the blues, the blacks, and the “weird gray shoes.” The fits and finishes are fantastic, including the silver Dreadnok belt buckle and the armor clips. The face deco is amazing with the beady green eyes and they subtly redefined the face paint to differentiate it from other releases.
Retro Classified Series Storm Shadow
This version of Storm Shadow sparks nostalgia and I can’t wait to see this one on the retro card back. There are subtle updates to this figure, including the absence of the archer arm gauntlets, bare hands, and wrapped forearms. The color of the white is slightly different and the texture on the figure looks amazing.
Tiger Force Duke with RAM Cycle
Duke comes with a new version of the Ram Cycle. As the Ram cycle never was in Tiger Force, so they used yellow orange gradients and Tiger Graphics. The gatling gun is red, and as we know from Breaker and the Ram Cycle, that gun is removable so it will be interesting to see how it looks apart from the cycle. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed by a repaint of the RAM cycle as we thought, in our predictions post, that the vehicle would actually be the Tiger Paw. The Duke figure has tan orange pants with tiger print colors, green shirt with a red collar for an extra pop and dirty blond hair.
Blue Ninjas Two Pack
I completely forgot about the leak where they speculated at there would be another 2-Pack so the wait is over for that reveal with the Blue Ninjas two-pack! We get a Male Ninja based on the Red Ninja Classified Series figure and the female ninja looks to be an entirely head sculpt new sculpt, with clean blue and grey deco paint colors and all white eyes. She is a repaint of Akiko from Snake Eyes Origins movie! A cool bonus accessory for these figures are the masks! The male ninja comes with an Oni mask, where, according to Wikipedia, “Oni are mostly known for their fierce and evil nature manifested in their propensity for murder and cannibalism” so you don’t want to cross this Ninja…EVER! The female comes with a ninja Kitsune mask, which literally is the Japanese word for fox! These foxes possess paranormal abilities that increase as they get older and wiser. One very cool touch to the Kitsune mask is the Cobra logo in the middle of the forehead.
To wrap up the reveals, we got a treat during the live stream where we heard from the real Sgt. Slaughter, who proclaimed that he was being recalled to active duty and officially coming to the Classified Series. With an ARAH design, black tank top, green camo pants, and jacked arms, the digital render is outstanding! The face sculpt has that classic Sarge scowl we all know and love! He comes with a removable hat, removable sunglasses and removable whistle. To sweeten the deal, he will also come with a “special gift inside the box.”
GI Joe Classified Series Preorders
Tiger Force Bazooka
Bazooka has a layered bicep so the sleeve can go over the top and his mustache came out amazing!!! The helmet is also removable, which reveals his textured hair sculpt. Harkening back to the vintage figure, his hair was very parted and Lenny used this as input to the Classified Series design. He has a loadable bazooka with removable shells that mount on the backpack, which also pays homage to the vintage weapons and accessories.

Tiger Force Recondo
Recondo is a survivalist and trainer and he looks amazing in Tiger Force deco! The figure has quite a dark deco with the deep blues. He has a removable machete, which is set really close to thigh. He is another figure with awesome mustache game and his hair texture came out really nicely! His backpack was updated to make it a little more sleek and you can see the sleeping bag rolled up on top of it so he can spend several nights on Cobra Island in the jungle hunting down the Python Patrol.

Python Patrol Officer
Although they did not have a figure to show live, they did show some very cool dio shots. The greens came out amazing with the classic cross hatching on the shirt that was subtly done. This is a direct repaint of the Cobra Officer so the weapons and accessories will be the same.

Zarana blew my away and she came out AMAZING!!! Keeping her classic in some ways and updated in others, they really knocked it out of the park on this one so let’s dive into the details. Her shirt has been updated to more of a jacket look and feel with very cool silver spikes on the right shoulder. Given that her vintage backpack was red in the 80’s, they updated this to a brown color that can holster a brand new cauterizing weapon that has a very cool heat effect deco to it. She has removable daggers and they’ve turned much of the sculpted detail into removable accessories so it is amazing to see the updates. One HUGE surprise is that Zarana’s hair comes off (just like Lady Jaye’s) where you can have her mullet look and they also wanted to retain that classic look. They recreated her classic pompadour hair style that we loved from the 80’s and it looks amazing!!!

Dusty came out so much better than anticipated. They did great job replicating desert camo on his uniform and in an interesting move, he comes with two sets of goggles. One pair sit on his helmet (or Havelock) and a pair for this actual face. The reasoning behind this was that they did not want his goggles to stretch out so great design decision there. Another aspect to the helmet design is that it does not feel overly large and they kept the tolerances (aka “wall thickness”) really tight as to give him a sleeker look and feel with the helmet on. The camo deco on the face was nicely done as well as it has just the right amount as to not to overwhelm his face like I thought the vintage figure did. The backpack is close to the original and, since it is the 40th anniversary, they wanted to retain as much of the vintage design as they could but still make some much needed updates.

Last but certainly not least, the Crimson Guard came out AMAZING!!! As they stated in the live stream, they are still in the EP phase so some parts of the figure are a little more glossy than they want them to be but I think the gloss needs to stay for this figure. A matte finish would not do this figure justice! The helmet is really glossy and has just the right amount of sheen to it so I hope it stays really close to this. A new design direction they implemented for the Crimson Guard was a black backpack, to set it apart and distinguish it from the figure. The accessories are module and one really surprising accessory they gave him was an officers sword that can plug into and stow on the backpack or his belt, which is a design decision they made mid sculpt. These will look fantastic right night to Tomax and Xamot so really looking forward to this figure.
