Formo Toys had their latest Warriors of the Galaxy line at display at this year’s Lucca Comics & Games 2025 show. You will notice Warriors of the Galaxy Wave 1 Magnon, Baltard and Huk on display, plus Wave 2 Ygg and Spikes. But if you looked closely at their display, you would notice there were also 3 new Warriors of the Galaxy figures on display in the background. So far their Wave1 & 2 of the Warriors of the Galaxy line were based on original Galaxy Warriors figures by Sungold. Reported yesterday, we took a stab at guessing what these blurry figures were in the background, and we nailed it right on the head. Well today, Formo toys officially revealed their Wave 3 figures with Deevil, Thor and Triton! So let’s take a closer look at these new Formo Toys Warriors of the Galaxy Wave 3 that were teased at the Lucca Comics & Games 2025!

Let’s take a closer look at new Formo Toys figures next to their Vintage Counterparts. We will start with Deevil from the Swords and Sorcerers line by Acama Toys, then Thor & Triton from the Galaxy Warriors by Sungold.
Deevil
Originally released in 1987, Deevil came out for the Swords & Sorcerers line by Acama Toys. Deevil, yes spell with 2 “e”s, was a blue horned helmet wearing figure with basic body armor and an axe and a shield.
According to Swords & Sorcerers | Galaxy Warriors Wikia | Fandom:
Swords & Sorcerers remains the easiest method of acquiring Deevil and Raah, as their regular Galaxy Warriors release was highly limited. Sun-Hawk is a figure from Sewco’s Galaxy Fighters line. The series likewise uses the first card art of the Galaxy Fighters toyline, as opposed to any Sungold artwork. The reasons for this remain unknown.
Acamas apparently planned a much wider range of Swords & Sorcerers products including costumes, role play toys, women warriors and more. These never came to fruition
Here you can see Deevil that was on display at the Formo Toys booth at the Lucca Comics & Games 2025 show.

Thor
Thor is the red bodied character with a single yellow horn on his head, wearing figure with basic body armor and a sword and a shield. He also has a purple cape and black loin cloth.
According to Galaxy Warriors by Sungold: Thor:
Thor is the only character in the line that has a name taken directly from Norse mythology. Visually he is very different from the other human figures in the line. The spiked helmet is really cool, and his eyes make him appear possessed and creepy, and less human than Magnon or Triton. If you wanted to classify any of the Galaxy Warrior characters as “evil”, then I think Thor would be part of that group.

Triton
Triton is the most common from the vintage line out of these Wave 3 characters. He is the Brunette figure with the red and silver body armor and a sword and a red shield. He also has a red loin cloth.
According to Galaxy Warriors by Sungold: Triton:
The coolness of the Triton figure comes from the great detail that was put into his head design, which includes sweet sideburns. A later release of Triton (below) where the figure’s limbs are not as “clean” as the limbs on an early release version. The Sungold stamp is on his back, instead of the leg, and it does not include the “Made in Hong Kong” disclaimer. This might be a hint that tells us this Triton was part of Sungold’s re-release line Freedom Fighters.

Teased Images

After some research, we have come up from left to right, the blue one with horns is Deevil in the more obscure Swords and Sorcerers line by Acama Toys. Then the red figure in the center is Thor. And finally the brunette on the right is Triton.

History of Galaxy Warriors
Warriors of the Galaxy or the Galaxy Warriors as the are also referred to was released in 1983 by Sungold as a response to the ultra successful Masters of the Universe line. Some people called them bootlegs, some people call them knock offs, but what they are now is a vintage toy cult classic and fetch high prices on the after market!
According to Galaxy Warriors Wikia | Fandom:
In 1983, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe were the new big thing. To ride the coattails of it’s success, little-known toy company Sungold released the Galaxy Warriors, an infamous line of toys that surprisingly was ripped-off and bootlegged more than Masters of the Universe itself.
The package art for Galaxy Warriors is modified from paintings by Frank Frazetta, the image from the logo being from Against The Gods with the sword replaced by an axe, while the prominent warrior on the front is from Warrior With Ball And Chain, with the flail replaced by an axe and the helmet redesigned to resemble Magnon’s.

As you can see the Galaxy Warriors logo is extremally similar to the Warriors of the Galaxy logo by Formo Toys. This vintage logo uses the sun and a barbarian warrior holding his axe as the main logo image.

Even some of the character of the Galaxy Warriors resemble the new figures from Formo Toys. It is exciting to see where this new 5.5″ line is going to go! They look very close to characters Magnon and Baltard.

More vintage Galaxy Warriors shown below. You can see a Viking like character and a beast. The beasts are exciting as this is a bootleg or knock off of the vintage Remco Warrior Beasts line as well!
