GI Joe Classified Series NYCC 2024 Panel Reveals

The Friday session of New York Comic Con 2024 is kicking off with a bang and a plethora of name only reveals, digital render reveals, and some product shots for some upcoming Retro Cardback GI Joe Classified Series figures. Following up on the amazing showing at SDCC 2024, the GI Joe Classified Series panel had an amazing showing and lots of product to look forward to but don’t get your hopes up for a speedy production of figures in 2025. The Joe team announced “DUE TO UNEXPECTED SHIFTS IN PRODUCTION, MANY OF OUR 2025 G.I. JOE PRODUCT SHIPMENTS WILL BE DELAYED WE’RE WORKING HARD TO MINIMIZE THE DELAY AND WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED. WE APPRECIATE THE SUPPORT OF THE G.I. JOE FAN COMMUNITY!” Enough bad news so let’s dive into the cool reveals from the NYCC 2024 GI Joe Classified Series panel! Name Only Reveals

Some great name only reveals are on their way and they left the crowd with a new vehicle tease!

Darklon

Darklon hails from the same bloodline as the infamous Destro, sharing the legacy of a family-bound steel mask. But while the Destro clan built their empire through arms dealing, the Darklons carved their path in more ruthless pursuits—mercenary work, privateering, and even investment banking. They’re opportunists, loyal only to the highest bidder, with no allegiances or sides to call their own. Darklon takes it a step further, unlike his distant cousin. He’s got no moral compass, no code of honor. Greed fuels his every move, making him one of the most dangerous players in the game.

Crystal Ball

Bizarre, eerie, and downright unsettling—that’s Crystal Ball in a nutshell. He may not boast any genetic modifications or surgical enhancements, but his unnerving behavior and wild tales of European mysticism have rattled even the most hardened members of Cobra. With whispers of supernatural powers, Crystal Ball claims to hypnotize with barely any effort and even seems to possess the ability to read minds.

Snake Eyes v4

Snake Eyes (version 4) was released in 1991 and he had a blue and black color scheme. The vintage came packed with a red machine gun, 2 red swords, a blue backpack with spring-loaded grappling hook launcher (actually fired), a red grappling hook with black string to attach to the backpack, and a black figure stand. Looks like they are leaning into the comic version so exited to see what he’ll look like in final production!

AWE Striker Tease?

It appears that a new vehicle is in the works and it must be a small form factor so we are thinking this could be a tease for the AWE Striker!

Digital Render Reveals

A gaggle of digital render reveals graced NYCC 2024, with some figures, a playset, and a tease of a super weapon!

Footloose

Footloose is portrayed in his classic green camouflage and comes with his helmet, backpack, rocket launcher, rifle, pistol, and knife!

Snake Eyes and Polar Bear

The GI Joe Cartoon is getting some love with Snakes and a massive polar bear! It also looks like the figure comes with a piece of the MASS device, which will be amazing!!!

Revealed at NYCC! I bet no one had a HUGE, fully articulated, polar bear on their GI Joe bingo cards this weekend. It’s projects like this that make me thrilled to be on the Joe team and just a 6” figure collector in general. I can just imagine the amazing toy photography once people get this figure and “pet” in hand.”

Legacy Collection Firefighter

Here is the reveal for the Legacy Collection Firefighter, and he has an amazing packout!

Very excited to bring the longstanding GI Joe tradition of honoring the brave heroes through detailed action figures. Design and Sculpting went all in on this guys load out to make sure our fireman has the right tools for the job.”

Cobra Defense Perimeter w/ Trench Viper

Looks like we are getting a small form factor playset and repaint of the Alley Viper!

This bunker is small and pretty unassuming but it’s pretty cool to see a playset harken back to the Cobra Surveillance Port in a new way.

Here is the official digital render reveal posted by thegreattonino! He posted on his Instagram: “GI Joe Classified Cobra Perimeter and Trench Viper! More info on this will be revealed as we get further into the next stages, but here’s a look at classifieds first real venture into something of a diorama piece. As you may have seen in the panel, these bases can be stacked together to expand out and up. The more you acquire, the bigger your defense grid becomes.”

He continues, “I love how the Trench Viper came out as well. The deep navy blues with the black and white digital camo makes this guy super intimidating.”

Retro Cardback Figures

The next three Retro Cardback figures were also shown and they are Rock N Roll, Dr. Mindbender, and the Cobra Viper!

Rock N Roll

Rock N Roll looks very classic in his green shirt with the whole nine crisscrossing his chest! They even nailed the hair and beard coloring!

Cobra Viper

We can see the classic coloring of the Cobra Viper without the neck scarf!

Dr. Mindbender

It is great to see Dr. Mindbender get a proper vintage treatment with the addition of the Cobra Symbol on his cape!
