Check out the latest GI Joe Dragonfly HasLab dropped today for Yo Joe June 2023, a vehicle that is well armed to take on the Cobra Hiss Tank!

In the first full week of Yo Joe June 2023, Hasbro dropped the Dragonfly as the GI Joe Classified Series HasLab that was being teased over the last few weeks. Yo Joe June 2023 kicks off with a super exciting new HASLAB project, OPERATION DRAGONGFLY! General Hawk kicked off Operation Dragonfly with a special message to kick off the HASLAB Dragonfly coming in the summer of 2024! This is a super exciting new HASBLAB project and we can’t wait to see how the campaign goes! Over Land, Sea and Air, where ever there is trouble, GI Joe is there! Congradulations Operation Dragon Fly HASBLAB Backers, the campaign has officially hit 16K backers and Glenda is now UNLOCKED!! Since the announcement 3 days ago that, the Gradon Fly Hasblab project has picked up some steam. As of 3:17pm PST /6:15pm EST, the Dragonfly Haslab campaign officially hit 16,001 backers and Glenda has now been officially unlocked! UPDATE July 2, 2023: Painted Dragonfly and Wild Bill Prototypes

Painter, designer, and sculptor, thegreattonino, has released some painted prototype images of the Dragonfly and Wild Bill. It is great to see these as we get a peak into the design process! He states in his IG post, “Here’s a look at the model I got to rework for the current Haslab campaign. We had this puppy painted by our partners overseas and if shipped to me to apply some of the fine details. Would’ve loved to tackle this thing from scratch, but that probably would’ve tied me up for about a week, and with all the amazing Classified figs coming up, I couldn’t spare the time. Still a fun project to have a hand in. It here are some incredible details and it’s a really cool experience once you have this in hand. And if you’ve been following me for a bit, you already know that this is an early prototype so product may vary in production. Thanks to all those that have backed the campaign and have spread the word about this dream project!”

As the thegreattonino states, “Here’s a look at the prototype I painted up for the amazing photo shoot for the Haslab Dragonfly. I don’t get to dust off the airbrush and sable hair paint brushes as much as I’d like to these days, but when I do it’s usually for a Haslab! Hope you guys dig some of the progress pics!”

UPDATE 06/30/2023: Official Dragonfly Images

Today we got Official images of the HASLAB Dragon Fly helicopter, and they look phenomenal! The details on the helicopter are incredible with all those rivets on the panels and those tampo’d decals! And Will Bill looks to be the most detailed and spectacular looking Classified figure to date! His face sculpt looks so detailed, and truly a wonderful homage to the vintage figure! Also the details on his cowboy style gloves, and six shooter belt look spectacular! Hi-Res images are below so enjoy!!

UPDATE 06/23/2023: General Hawk Teased in New Dragonfly HasLab 3D Demo

It appears we may have received a tease for the next Dragonfly HasLab unlock at 19K backers. Hasbro posted the following on their Hasbro Pulse Instagram page:

This goes by fast but if you click the link in their bio, you’ll a login screen and the character who is accessing the Dragonfly demo is none other than Abernathy, who is otherwise known as General Hawk.

Hawk

We explore what both versions of Hawk could look like and we also are aware that Hawk is rumored to be part of a GI Joe Classified Series wave in the future, but, with two versions, getting General Hawk as part of the next HasLab unlock is still a possibility.

Version 1

While we could not find any Classified Series scale customs, we did come across these two versions in 3 3/4″ scale. We’ve found that the Classified Series molds are sometimes very similar so here is these figures could look like.

Version 2

General Hawk, as his version 2 figure is called, looked drastically different than his v1 counterpart. Drawing inspiration from one of our favorite GI Joe customizers, yojoearah, we see what this figure could like and this one is in Classified Series scale.

UPDATE 06/15/2023 6:00am: Secret Tier 2 Unveiled!! Jane “Glenda” Mulligan

This morning Emily announced that Night Force Rip Cord has been officially unlocked and revealed the next secret unlock tier which will be Jane “Glenda” Mulligan in her classic colors. Originally, Glenda was released in the vintage line and was an exclusive figure that was available carded in Argentina by the Plastirama toy company and used the same mold as Scarlett. Glenda will include 2 sets of alternate hair, a helmet with hair and headset with hair. She also includes here flight suit web gear, 2 fist hands, a gun, a rifle and a backpack with air hose. She will come in her own numbered GI Joe Classified packaging. Glenda will be unlocked if the campaign hits 16,000 backers before 11:59pm by July 17th 2023!

Inspiration for Glenda

As we said earlier, Glenda was an exclusive figure that was available carded in Argentina by the Plastirama toy company. In the comic lore, Glenda led Hardball and Rampart in a mission to capture Asa Negra and Big Boa, only to find both Cobra members and their troops dead. Glenda noticed how unlikely it was to be the work of local warlords or the CIA, and whoever did it was sending a message. Those who did it revealed themselves, confirmed Glenda’s suspicions, and killed the three Joes to complete the message

UPDATE 06/06/2023 8:25am: Backers reach over 9K in a day!

The first day of Operation Dragonfly kicked off with a bang, and after about 24 hours, we at 9381 backers and counting already! With a little over 41 days to go, this is not a question if this HASLAB project will fund, but how fast will it fund, and how fast will it hit each of the 3 unlock tiers? At the time of this update, we are now at:

Campaign Details

• Needs 10,000 backer at $274.99 XH-1 by 11:59pm by July 17th 2023 in order for it to fund!
• 13,000 backers to unlock tier 1 which is Night Force Rip Cord action figure.
• There are 2 additional Secret unlock tiers. Secret Unlocks are at 16,000 Backers, and 19,000 Backers
• All of the figures will be in full Classified packaging and numbered in sequence.

The new Classified Series HasLab Dragonfly XH-1 looks incredible! It measures a whopping 34.09” W x 11.33”H x 13.77”D. It features rotor blades that have a manual blade spinning action. There is a lighting button is on top that lights up interior gages in the cockpit, and exterior lights as well.  There are 3 different lighting sequences.

The Dragonfly comes with removable missile and canon accessories. The blast effects will have gorgeous colorways on them, just like the ones that came with the Skystriker. The rockets post onto dog bones on the side. Also include are what Lenny affectionately called “Chips and Salsa” large removable gatling guns that can port in a bunch of blast effects.

The front gattling gun swivels and moves up and down. It includes a 1.5 mm port system in the front so you can place blast effects. There are also removable panels with mechanical and engine details.

Movable V Tail Wing:  The vertical tail fin rotates from 90 degrees to 45 to assist in maneuverability. Tail thruster spins and cover comes off to reveal additional detail.

Doors lower showing the inner workings of the twin X-551 60MM Mini-Cannon accessories and act as a step to pose your figures ascending into the cockpit. Cockpit canopy lifts like a standard canopy, or can open in the rear and front with gullwing windows for quick escapes. There are also cool seat belts in the cockpit to hold your pilots in place!

There are working interior cockpit lights that light up the cockpit for the gunner and pilot in green. And then there are 2 other lightening setting to include exterior headlamps and a spotlight shining down from the bottom of the helicopter to help light any Joes you are trying to rescue or spot those slithery Cobra’s hiding in the shadows!

There are 6 enormous blast effects, and also includes an awesome display stand.

The transparent 10-inch-high display stand has a 15-degree angle allowing you to pose your Attack Copter as though it’s hovering in the air, either climbing or descending. The base is decorated with a modern take on the classic DF-1 roundel.

The Dragonfly even includes a functioning hoist (with ratcheting action) with cable and rescue hook for rescue ops of your Joe troops! There is also a toy winch with a button to pull the tow winch down, and you can hook onto the belts of your action figures.

Wild Bill

Will Bill comes with a removable hat and removable hair. He also includes his trusty knife that can holster onto his vest. He has removeable sunglasses, and 2 six shooters, and a long horn belt buckle and a Longhorn on the back of his belt as well.

Wild Bill also has a six shooter belt as well. There are very nice embroidery on his calvary gloves, and stitching details on his gloves and vest. There are also leather patterns on his vest. His boots also have a leather texture and look great too. Lenny mentioned that Wild Bill’s face pattern early to mid 40’s with his signature Wild Bill mustache.

GI Joe HasLab Tease

Over the last week the marketing team at Hasbro has been doing an amazing job setting up the next GI Joe Classified Series HasLab! Hasbro has posted a series of cryptic messages on their Hasbro Pulse Instagram page that hint to a new HasLab in the works on the GI Joe side.
