Cowabunga! The GI Joe Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover figures are starting to hit Target shelves and boy are we thrilled to bring you our very own in hand images of Shipwreck Mikey! I love how this crossover line keeps mashing up two of the most iconic 80s franchises in the most fun ways possible, and pairing Michelangelo with Shipwreck is just so perfect. You take the most laid back, fun-loving Turtle and give him the personality of Joe’s favorite sailor and it’s a match made in radical heaven. The sculpt on this figure is really cool, blending Mikey’s signature party dude energy with Shipwreck’s nautical look, and I just love every little detail they packed in here. Getting these in hand is always so much more exciting than seeing promo shots because you really get a feel for how the figure looks and feels in your collection. So let’s take a look at GI Joe Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shipwreck Mikey!

The card art on Shipwreck Mikey’s packaging is a lot of fun, showing him in a classic Shipwreck pose with a pigeon as opposed to a parrot, on his shoulder and an anchor chain dangling from one hand, all framed by a jagged rip-style border. You can see the figure inside the blister alongside a solid spread of accessories, including nunchaku, a grappling hook, what looks like a small parrot companion, and a white sailor’s cap.

Here’s a look at the back of the box, which lays out the full crossover roster in illustrated form, from Snake Eyes Leo and Roadblock Raph to Cobra Commander Shredder and Destro Krang. The lower section features a cut-out file card for Shipwreck styled after the classic dossier format, listing his file name as Michelangelo, his specialties, and a tongue-in-cheek bio about growing up in the shadow of the Brooklyn Navy Yards.

Here’s a closer look at Shipwreck Mikey in the tray with the blister removed, and the inner packaging artwork really pops with that green-to-yellow sewer-style splatter effect behind him. The accessory spread is generous, with a pair of nunchaku flanking him on silver chains, a gray pigeon perched near his shoulder, a grappling hook with orange handle, and a pizza slice accessory tucked into the lower corner.

Shipwreck Mikey’s blue sailor uniform has a really nice sculpted texture to it, with a yellow ascot peeking out from the collar and orange skin tones breaking through at the joints and kneepads. The black utility belt features an “M” buckle and a small molded pouch strapped to his thigh, and those silver chains on the nunchaku have a satisfying weight and drape to them.

Armed with his nunchaku, the silver metal chains loop down with a nice heft, each one tipped with a small star-shaped weight that adds a fun nautical-meets-ninja flair. I’m really digging the contrast between the bright green skin, black fingerless gloves, and those orange elbow straps that tie the whole color scheme together.

Cowabunga, look at the fun action pose! One thing I noticed right away is how well the sculpted wrinkles and folds on that blue sailor jacket hold up when the figure is actually posed and moving, keeping the fabric illusion intact across the torso.

You can see how the nunchaku chains each end in different tips, one with a small spiked star and the other with what looks like a key-shaped weight, giving the pair an asymmetrical design that’s a neat touch. The pigeon sits comfortably on his forearm here, and that round “M” belt buckle has a clean silver inset that ties nicely into the metallic chain links.

The silver revolver is a great accessory, with a novelty “BANG” pizza flag shooting out from the barrel in orange and yellow, printed with graffiti-style lettering that fits Mikey’s prankster personality perfectly. It’s cool to see the pigeon perched right on top of his left forearm, its small sculpted feathers and rounded body adding a playful absurdity to the whole setup.

A close-up reveals the sculpted grin on Mikey’s face has a great sense of character, with his white teeth slightly parted and that deep green chin dimple adding some personality. The white sailor cap sits at a jaunty angle on his head, and the orange mask tails trail back with a nice subtle curve where they drape behind his neck.

Here’s a closer look at the back of Shipwreck Mikey, where that matte blue-gray shell takes up most of the real estate, its hexagonal scutes deeply sculpted with clean ridges separating each plate. The orange mask tails spill out from under the sailor cap and rest against the top of the shell, and you can catch a small blue anchor tattoo stamped on his left arm just above the elbow.

From this side profile, you get a nice sense of how the two-tone blue uniform breaks up between the lighter gray-blue on the upper back and the brighter blue running down the sleeves and legs, with that red chevron insignia printed crisp on the shoulder. The black holster strapped to his thigh sits snug against the sculpt, and the nunchaku chain dangles freely with that silver star weight just barely kissing the ground.

From the side, Mikey looks classic Shipwreck holding his grappling hook nun chucks. Something I appreciate here is the orange kneepads, which have a smooth rounded sculpt that contrasts nicely with the segmented blue leg armor wrapping around the shins.

A close-up reveals the blue anchor tattoo on his arm in nice detail, with its branching flukes and crossbar having a slightly tribal, stylized look that feels right at home on a turtle’s bumpy green skin. The joint where the lime-green arm meets the black torso connector shows the silver pin construction clearly, and that bright red-orange ascot wraps around the base of the limb with a satisfying pop of color.

Here’s a closer look at that shoulder insignia from the opposite side, where the same eagle-and-chevron design wraps around the curved blue armor panel, the dark red stripes tapering downward beneath the ship’s wheel motif. The lime-green head beneath the helmet rim has a smooth, rounded quality to it, and that orange chin piece tucks in tightly under the jaw like a functional clasp.

Sporting his white sailor cap and that big Mikey grin, the figure looks great posed up next to Bebop, who’s rocking a Cobra mashup look with red shades and a nose ring. I like how the two of them together really show off the scale and style differences between these crossover lines, with Bebop towering over him and carrying a much heavier, more militarized vibe.

Here’s a closer look at the full TMNT x G.I. Joe lineup staged together, and it really sells the scope of this crossover. The Turtle-themed VAMP jeep in military green with yellow roll cage, green hubcaps, and a mounted turret pairs perfectly with that helicopter overhead, while figures like Leonardo, Michelangelo, Bebop, Slash, and the rest spread across the terrain show just how deep this mashup goes across both factions.

Leonardo is outfitted in full black tactical gear with blue accents, from the blue bandana and chest harness down to the blue knee pads and belt buckle bearing his initial. The crossover ninja-commando look works surprisingly well, with the black boots and armored plating giving the sculpt a completely different vibe from any Leo you’ve seen before. Bebop towers next to him, and you can see how the Cobra insignia stamped across his chest really sells the crossover concept. His purple hair, red visor, and those spiked olive-green shoulder pads bring all the classic Bebop flavor while the teal military pants and black combat boots pull him firmly into G.I. Joe territory.

Michelangelo looks like he’s having the time of his life in this mashup, sporting a teal sailor-style top with a yellow chest panel, a white sailor cap, and his signature orange mask and knee pads. The kusarigama chain weapon with a shuriken dangling from the end is a great touch, blending ninja weaponry with that nautical G.I. Joe flavor. Shredder gets a full Cobra Commander-inspired makeover here, with a blue tunic, red cape, and his classic silver helmet now sitting over what looks like a blue Cobra-style hood. You can see how the Cobra flame emblem on his belt buckle and the silver claw gauntlets on his boots tie the whole villain crossover together, and that katana is the one detail keeping him firmly rooted in TMNT territory.

Donatello is loaded up here, with a silver claw-grip weapon, a bo staff, and what looks like a backpack-mounted device with tubes running along his shell. His purple bandana, purple belt and wraps, teal shin guards, and that “D” buckle keep his identity clear while the military-grade loadout pushes him into full commando territory. I’m really digging Krang’s crossover look, with that exposed brain module framed in a silver and green chassis while a massive double-headed battle axe and a spiked silver flail give him serious heavy-hitter energy. The red snake motif coiling around his shoulders and torso is a killer nod to Cobra, and the silver spiked helmet completes the fusion beautifully.

TMNT GI Joe Official Images 6

Slash looks absolutely menacing in his Storm Shadow-inspired white gi, with the Cobra insignia stamped on the chest and magenta shoulder armor peeking out from under the fabric. His belt is loaded with sculpted gear and a purple buckle bearing a lightning bolt, while those yellow-green accents on his knuckles and toes pop against the teal skin and cream-colored outfit.

Raphael clashes with Rocksteady here, and I like how Raph’s sai are tucked into action while he wields that massive chainsaw, the teeth sculpted individually along the entire blade. Rocksteady’s tan vest with green ammo bandolier slung across the chest, teal jeans with a skull-and-crossbones belt buckle, and those goggles pushed up on his rhino horn make for a perfect punk-mercenary fusion, with a circular saw blade weapon adding to his arsenal.

TMNT GI Joe Official Images 2

Raphael’s crossover design goes full rugged here, with a brown leather-style vest, black cowboy hat, and what looks like an oversized ooze canister strapped to his back alongside a massive green gatling-style weapon. The Turtle Fly Copter behind him is covered in turtle shell-patterned hexagonal plating across the fuselage, with red-tipped rotor blades, underslung missiles with red warheads, and a “24” marking on the nose that sits alongside the TMNT emblem.

Scarlett’s crossover look keeps her signature red hair and yellow jumpsuit intact, with green tactical straps, brown leather holsters, and white boots grounding her firmly in Joe territory. The AWE Shell Striker beside her is packed with detail, from the “STINK” label on the turret-mounted missile to the orange pennant flag, flexible wire antennae, and a set of yellow air horns mounted low on the front bumper.
