We were live on the show floor at WonderCon 2026 and got the chance to stop by Big Bad Toy Store booth and toured the Gridiron Studios section, and I’m so glad we did because what Mark has built with this brand is genuinely impressive and worth every collector’s attention. For those unfamiliar, Gridiron Studios is a specialty design studio producing high-quality, 3D-printed weapons, accessories, dioramas, and armored vehicles in both 1:12 and 1:18 scale, with a particular focus on enhancing lines like G.I. Joe Classified, Marvel Legends, and Mythic Legions through authentic, detailed military gear and custom parts. The star of the booth was without question the brigade of 1/12 scale M113 Tank/APC Combo Configurations on display in Tan, Green, and Blue, and seeing them lined up together really drove home just how serious these pieces are in terms of scale, detail, and presentation for your Classified Series figures. Alongside those, the 1/12 scale 105mm Howitzer was on full display in both tan and green variants, and the craftsmanship on these is the kind of thing you have to see up close to fully appreciate. Mark was kind enough to walk me through just how modular these vehicles are, showing how the configurations can be swapped and adjusted, which adds a whole layer of versatility that display collectors and diorama builders are going to love. If you’re more of a 3 3/4″ Joe collector, Gridiron Studios has you covered too with the 1:18 scale M113 Tank/APC, so nobody gets left out. Scattered throughout the setup were figures from JoyToy and Operation Monster Force that helped give a real sense of the scale these vehicles occupy, and it made the whole booth feel like a living diorama. Mark was incredibly generous with his time and genuinely passionate about what he’s building, and that kind of energy is exactly what makes the convention floor special. Booth Overview

I’m looking over a fully loaded booth where Bill Murphy from BigBadWorkshop booth #1142 at WonderCon 2026 as he is holding it down right in the middle, and we were digging into the Gridiron Studios section. I think it’s cool how Big Bad Toy Store is also hosting Wandering Planet here, bringing in a range of unique figures, plus their own Big Bad Workshop Operation Monster Force, all packed into one busy booth. The Fresh Monkey Fiction figures sit adjacent to the Gridiron Studios setup, with stacks of Operation Monster Force figures.

I’m standing shoulder to shoulder with Mark Vuncannon, Co-Founder and Creative Director of GridIron Studios, with a massive 1:12 scale M113 Tank/APC in blue dominating the foreground alongside the green and tan variants spread across the table. It’s cool to see the full brigade lineup together, and the sheer size of that blue 1:12 scale piece next to the smaller 1:18 version in the back really puts the scale difference into perspective.

A wider look at the Gridiron Studios table shows the full spread of 1:12 scale vehicles, with the tan M113 APC front and center alongside the tan 105mm Howitzer on its towed carriage. The enemy blue 1:12 scale M113 sits elevated behind them with a JoyToy military figure manning the turret, while a promotional print for the Howitzer lays flat on the table showing off some impressive diorama photography.

The tan 1:12 scale M113 APC takes up a good portion of the frame here, with its hull covered in finely sculpted panel lines, hatch covers, and a mesh grille section on top. Behind it, the 1:12 scale 105mm Howitzer in olive drab green sits on its wheeled carriage surrounded by soft goods sandbags, its multi-barrel assembly and tow bar showing off some impressive detail for a 3D-printed piece.

1:18 Scale M113 APC (Green)

Finished in olive drab green, the 1:18 Scale M113 APC (Green) from Gridiron Studios is packed with sculpted detail, from the individually molded rivet lines across the hull panels to the mesh grille work on the turret housing. A 3 3/4″ scale figure sits inside the turret opening wearing a camouflage-covered helmet, giving a great sense of how well these 3D-printed vehicles work with the smaller Joe figures or other military figures.

The APC is displayed from a side profile that highlights the white Allied star markings stenciled on both the hull side and upper deck. The open turret ring with its camouflage-helmeted figure and the cluster of tan-finned rockets mounted on the rear platform are framed alongside a larger tan vehicle parked just behind it, giving a nice sense of how the olive drab and tan variants look side by side.

The turret gun shield on the 1:18 Scale M113 APC (Green) has a great amount of sculpted rivets along each angled panel, and the mounted machine gun protruding through the shield slot looks properly scaled. I like how the top hull details come through here, including the hatch covers and small mechanical components that show just how much work goes into these 3D-printed pieces.

Desert 105mm Howitzer

The Desert 105mm Howitzer in olive drab green gets a closer look here, with the tow bar extending out from the wheeled carriage and the barrel assembly showing off sculpted muzzle brake detail at the tip. The chunky treaded tires on the dual-axle carriage have a nice rubbery look to them.

The Desert 105mm Howitzer in tan sits in the foreground with its long barrel extending over the gun shield, and the weathered desert color on the carriage frame and stabilizing legs has a convincing dusty finish. Behind it, the tan M113 APC shows off its tracked undercarriage and a rack of sculpted rockets mounted up top.

The Desert 105mm Howitzer in olive drab green sits here with a cluster of sandbags piled against the wheel base, and the sculpted hub detail on those chunky tires really comes through up close.

The Desert 105mm Howitzer in tan is displayed alongside a partially visible tan M113 APC, and the extended stabilizing legs stretching out behind the carriage show off their segmented sculpt and spade-shaped ground plates. I’m really digging the desert tan color across the entire piece, from the gun shield panels down through the tow bar, with the dark rubber tires providing a nice contrast against the uniform tan finish.

Desert Wildcat M113 Tank: APC Combo Configuration (Tan)

The Tan APC dominates the table with its full tracked undercarriage and multiple turret-mounted weapons on display, while the olive drab 105mm Howitzer sits just below it with a few soft goods sandbags tucked against its carriage. What really catches my eye is how the tan hull’s sculpted storage grates and vent panels on the rear quarter contrast with the darker green turret components up top, showing off the modular color-blocking across the vehicle.

It’s situated here next to the tan 105mm Howitzer, its stabilizing legs splayed out with the wheeled carriage and long barrel assembly filling the foreground. The Howitzer packaging behind the pair features several diorama-style photos showing the artillery piece in desert terrain settings, giving a good sense of how these 3D-printed pieces look when fully staged.

The rocket racks get a great close-up here, with each finned rocket showing crisp sculpted detail on the stabilizer fins and alternating navy and tan stripe banding along the body. The olive drab turret ring base and dome housing sit just beneath the cluster, and you can see the sculpted mounting brackets that hold each rack in place on the swivel platform.

The dual missile racks are loaded with individually sculpted rockets, each one painted in dark navy with tan nose cones, fins, and stripe bands. The olive drab sensor dome and armored box housings mounted between the racks have a nice textured surface with small sculpted rivets and lens details.

Mark demonstrated just how modular the hull is, with the rear troop compartment open and the interior walls showing clean panel line detail. It’s nice to see Mark showing off the hands-on modularity of these 3D-printed vehicles, and the olive drab M113 variant parked just behind it provides a nice color contrast between the two configurations.

Enemy Wildcat M113 Tank: APC Combo Configuration (Blue)

The Enemy Wildcat M113 sits here with an Operation Monster Force figure posed in front of the hull, giving a strong sense of just how massive this 1:12 scale vehicle is compared to a standard action figure. The front hull’s angled armor plates and the lowered rear ramp with its textured non-slip surface are on full display, while a JoyToy Space Marine sits on the Deluxe Turret with Command Module, which shows how modular this vehicle is.

A close up of the turret area shows off its angular armored panels covered in sculpted rivets and bolt details, with the mounted machine gun extending forward from its swivel mount. One of the JoyToy Space Marines sits in the commander’s hatch with his gold Aquila chest plate and blue shoulder pauldrons contrasting nicely against the blue hull plating beneath him.

The APC towers over the convention table with its lowered rear ramp deployed and two JoyToy Space Marines staged inside the troop compartment, while a tan and olive drab M113 variant sit nearby for scale comparison.

Showing a great sense of scale here with a pair of JoyToy Warhammer 40K Space Marines packed inside the open rear troop compartment, their bulky power armor fitting snugly against the interior walls. I like how the gold Imperium insignias on the Marines’ shoulder pads pop against the blue hull, showing just how well these 3D-printed vehicles work with other 1:12 scale lines beyond just G.I. Joe Classified.

Here we have the JoyToy Space Marines stepping out onto the lowered rear ramp, his gold Aquila chest eagle and Ultramarines knee insignia sitting cleanly against the matte blue of the hull plating.

Showing off the rear hull from a convention floor angle, with the “GS113” marking stenciled in white just below the rear panel and a pair of sculpted tail lights flanking the lower plate. The individual track links and road wheel assembly have a slightly darker olive tone than the hull, and I love that the colors are not uniform throughout as it gives that real military feel.

The green turret gets a closer look here, with the mounted machine gun and its attached ammo box positioned between two figures wearing distinctly different gear, one in a Spartan-style helmet and the other in a camouflage balaclava with a “Phantom Corps” tactical vest.

Gridiron Studios WonderCon 2026 Booth Images 12d

The APC is positioned at table level with its full side hull on display, showing the road wheels, drive sprocket, and idler wheel in a clean arrangement beneath the olive drab hull panels. The tan packs with individually sculpted pouches is secured to the hull exterior near the front provide some contrast!
