Eldor MOTU Origins Figure Spotted on Back of Snake Lair Packaging
Massive thanks to Mr. Home Arcade for sending this one our way, because this is the kind of packaging detail that makes you do a double take. As the MOTU Origins Snake Lair continues to ship out to collectors, we’re getting a closer look at every inch of the box, and tucked onto the back of the packaging is something we’ve been waiting a long time to see: a physical product shot of an Eldor MOTU Origins figure. We’ve known Eldor has been floating around in some form for a while now, with teases and hints, but seeing an actual figure rendered on official Mattel packaging is about as close to confirmation as you can get without a formal announcement. This is exactly the same playbook Mattel used when a prototype of the MOTU Origins Movie Teela showed up on the back of the Fright Fighter box, and I love how they’re weaving these reveals directly into the physical product itself, giving collectors who pick up these larger sets a little extra intel baked right into the packaging. Eldor is one of those deep cut characters that has always carried a mystique in the MOTU lore, originally tied to the cancelled Powers of Grayskull of the vintage line, which makes his arrival in Origins feel like a long overdue piece of the puzzle. The fact that Mattel is confident enough to put him on the Snake Lair box tells us this figure is real and likely further along in development than we might have assumed. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one as more details surface, but for now, feast your eyes on that packaging shot of Eldor.
Eldor MOTU Origins Figure
Eldor is featured on the back of the Snake Lair box, sporting his brown fur-trimmed outfit and carrying his staff. Mr. Home Arcade sent this one our way, and that Eldor sculpt has a great bearded head that has a wise look.
The hooded cowl has some thickness to it and the fur-textured trim texture on his outfit runs down the front of the chest, and a gold belt cinches the waist. His boots have a nice chunky, organic sculpt with wrapped detailing around the ankles.
