Eldor MOTU Origins Figure Spotted on Back of Snake Lair Packaging

Here’s an unexpected discovery for Masters of the Universe collectors! An apparent MOTU Origins Eldor figure has been spotted on the back of the Snake Lair packaging, giving us our first look at what could be another addition to the Origins lineup. Huge thanks to Mr. Home Arcade for bringing this to our attention!

Eldor was originally planned for the vintage Powers of Grayskull line, which was intended to expand the MOTU universe before the original toy line ended. Although the character never received a vintage release, he’s remained one of the more interesting unreleased figures from that era. What makes this discovery particularly noteworthy is that Mattel appears to have included an actual Eldor figure on the packaging rather than simply an illustration of the character.

We’ve seen something similar before. A prototype of the MOTU Origins Movie Teela appeared on the Fright Fighter packaging, so there’s some precedent for Mattel teasing upcoming figures through its packaging. Of course, that doesn’t guarantee Eldor will be released. Mattel hasn’t officially announced the figure, and we don’t have any information about pricing, availability, or a potential release date.

Where to Buy

The MOTU Origins Snake Lair was offered through Mattel Creations as a crowdfunded project and is no longer available directly from Mattel. Collectors looking for one can check eBay for aftermarket listings.

UPDATE 8/15/2026: High-Resolution Packaging Photos

Huge thanks to our very own Toy Sorceress for providing high-resolution photos of the back of the Snake Lair packaging! The rear packaging features several Masters of the Universe characters and accessories, including the previously unannounced Eldor figure. His inclusion is especially interesting considering his history as an unreleased vintage character and Mattel’s ongoing efforts to bring previously unproduced MOTU concepts into Origins.

Eldor MOTU Origins Figure

Eldor’s design stays close to his original Powers of Grayskull concept, with a brown hooded robe, fur-textured trim, gray beard, and gold belt. He also carries a wooden staff, one of the character’s signature accessories. The overall design fits the vintage-inspired aesthetic of MOTU Origins, making him a natural addition to the line if Mattel decides to release him.

A closer look reveals additional sculpted details throughout the figure. The hood frames Eldor’s bearded head, while the fur-textured trim extends down the front of his robe. His exposed arms retain the muscular proportions associated with MOTU Origins, and the lower legs feature sculpted boots with wrapped detailing around the ankles.
