“Illusion is the ultimate weapon!” M.A.S.K. fans, the wait is finally over because two amazing vehicles from the 40th anniversary line are now in stock and ready to ship over at our friends at BigBadToyStore! We’re talking about the Hurricane with Hondo MacLean at $84.99 and the Stealth Submarine Cycle (SSC) with Sly Rax at $49.99, and boy are we thrilled to see these finally hitting collectors’ doorsteps. If you prefer Amazon, both are also available for preorder there with a ship date of November 30th. I always loved M.A.S.K. growing up, and seeing this line get the 40th anniversary treatment it deserves just fills my collector heart with so much joy. The Hurricane looks super exciting with that spring-loaded raising mechanism, rotating roof canopy, 3 cannons, and those classic cruiser styling cues that pay homage to the original 1986 toy. And of course you get 2 interchangeable masks and effect pieces to really capture that transforming battle action we all fell in love with as kids. Then there’s the SSC with Sly Rax, and I love how this one goes from cycle to submersible attack mode with integrated pop-out cannons and wings. You get torpedoes, tire smoke effects, interchangeable masks, and a mask blast effect all packed into that sleek little vehicle. For the V.E.N.O.M. fans out there, Sly Rax is such a fun deep cut character to include in this wave. The retro packaging on both of these is really cool too, honoring the look and feel of the original M.A.S.K. toy line. At 2.75-inch scale these sit perfectly alongside the rest of the anniversary collection, and it’s incredible to see this franchise getting this kind of love after 40 years. So let’s take a look at the M.A.S.K. Hurricane and Stealth Submarine Cycle!

Where to Buy

You can preorder the figures at the following retailers below

Hurricane with Hondo MacLean

The Hurricane’s box art does a fantastic job channeling that classic ’80s Kenner energy, with a painted desert landscape framing the blue and orange flame-decoed cruiser mid-transformation, cannons blazing with pink effect beams. You can see how the packaging layout highlights both the classic car mode and the field command post conversion, with Hondo MacLean illustrated in his gear alongside a small inset of his included figure and interchangeable masks on the lower right.

Covered in those gorgeous flame graphics that sweep from the hood all the way across the roof, the Hurricane really sells the classic ’57 cruiser silhouette even with its six-wheel battle chassis sitting underneath. I like the way the rear-mounted turret with its dual dark maroon barrels sits between the tailfins, and how those translucent red missile tips poking out from the front bumper cannons contrast against all that chrome trim.

MASK Wave 2 14

Here’s a closer look at the Hurricane in its transformed battle mode, with the roof canopy rotated open and the spring-loaded command post raised, where Hondo MacLean sits ready with one of the translucent red effect pieces attached to his cannon. The teal body with those orange and yellow flame graphics looks even better from this angle, and I love how the six-wheeled chassis, silver exhaust pipes, and cluster of dark maroon missiles mounted up front give the whole thing a weaponized hot rod feel that’s pure ’80s excess.

MASK Wave 2 1

Something I appreciate here is how well those flame decals wrap around the Hurricane’s contours, following the fender lines and hood with a gradient that shifts from deep orange through yellow into green at the edges. The chrome bumper, headlights, and wheel caps add just the right amount of classic car shine against that teal body, and you can see the forward-mounted cannon tucked below the grille with its translucent red effect piece extending out like an exhaust flame.

MASK Wave 2 13

You can see how the Hurricane’s roof panel swings open on a hinge, with the inner face carrying that same flame deco continued from the exterior so the graphics stay cohesive even in mid-transformation. The dark maroon missile launcher mounted at the top of the raised panel has a chunky, utilitarian sculpt that contrasts nicely with the smooth curves of the ’57 body below it.

MASK Wave 2 15

We get to take a closer look at the Hurricane from the rear quarter, where you can really appreciate the sculpted spare tire housing on the trunk and the saw blade tucked beneath the rear bumper, a nasty little detail that sells the hidden-weapons concept. The colorful circuit board deco printed on the inside of the raised roof panel is loaded with tiny gauges, wiring diagrams, and radar screens, giving the command post interior a sense of function that goes beyond a simple blank surface.

MASK Wave 2 17

Hondo MacLean’s 2.75-inch figure shows off a sharp color-blocked outfit with maroon legs, golden yellow shoulders and boots, and a blue cross-strap across the chest. His two interchangeable masks sit beside him, each sculpted with distinct teal and red designs and small golden accents at the chin, giving you some nice display options to swap between.

MASK Wave 2 2

Here’s the full spread of everything included with the Hurricane set laid out together. Hondo MacLean’s 2.75-inch figure sports a bold yellow and purple color-blocked outfit with blue chest detailing and yellow boots, while his two interchangeable masks, three dark maroon missiles, and translucent red effect pieces round out a generous accessory count for this scale.

Stealth Submarine Cycle (SSC) with Sly Rax

The Stealth Submarine Cycle’s box art leans hard into that vintage Kenner aesthetic, with a painted highway scene showing the vehicle in its sleek cycle mode alongside an illustrated Sly Rax and his included helmet and masks. A small inset on the lower left highlights the submarine conversion, reinforcing the land-to-sea transformation gimmick that made the original 1986 toy so memorable.

MASK Wave 2 6

Sly Rax’s Stealth Submarine Cycle looks fantastic in its street-ready cycle mode, with that deep purple aerodynamic shell sweeping forward over the exposed motorcycle engine and silver exhaust detailing below. The tire smoke effect piece plugged into the rear wheel is a fun touch, sculpted with wispy, cloud-like tendrils in translucent white that sell the sense of speed alongside those torpedo effects firing from the front-mounted cannons.

MASK Wave 2 3

We get a closer look at the Stealth Submarine Cycle in its submersible attack mode, with the translucent purple canopy swept up and the pop-out wings deployed on either side, giving the whole vehicle a sleek, angular silhouette. Sly Rax fits snugly in the cockpit wearing his dark green jacket, silver helmet, and blue pants, while those rainbow-spectrum decals running along the hull and wings add a fun retro flair that pairs nicely with the deep purple body and silver grill accents.

MASK Wave 2 10

Two translucent torpedo effects plug into the underside of the Stealth Submarine Cycle, each molded with a gradient from amber to yellow to orange at the tips, giving the vehicle a real sense of propulsion when displayed. I like how the textured black rear panel with its row of sculpted spikes contrasts against the smooth purple shell, and those orange accent tabs along the tail fins are a nice callback to the retro color blocking found throughout the vehicle’s deco.

MASK Wave 2 11

Sly Rax’s full accessory spread shows off his purple helmet and mask sitting alongside the figure, with the helmet featuring a silvery visor and blue rectangular lens detailing that feels appropriately techy for a covert operative. The inset callout gives you a great look at the translucent blue mask blast effect piece, which fans out from the face with jagged, crystalline tendrils, a fun inclusion that adds another layer of display versatility beyond just the vehicle modes.

MASK Wave 2 4

Sly Rax stands beside his Stealth Submarine Cycle with the translucent blue mask blast effect attached, and you can see how those icy, jagged tendrils extend outward from his face sculpt, wrapping partially around his silver-visored helmet in a way that feels aggressive and otherworldly. The cockpit interior has a nicely sculpted black seat with textured ridging and small silver control details molded into the dash area, a level of interior work you don’t always get at this scale.

MASK Wave 2 8

You can see how the Stealth Submarine Cycle separates cleanly into its two distinct components, with the rear sidecar section housing that orange claw mechanism inside its boxy shell and the sculpted fork-like prongs extending from the front lip. The motorcycle portion tucked inside the submersible hull shows off its black engine block, silver cylinder heads, and spoked wheels, a satisfying amount of mechanical detail hiding beneath all that purple bodywork.

MASK Wave 2 9

The full set up for the Stealth Submarine Cycle set is shown below, with the submersible hull separated from the rear cycle section so you can really take in how the two halves lock together, each carrying its own run of those rainbow-spectrum decals and angular panel lines. Sly Rax stands alongside his alternate blue mask and the translucent blue claw-like mask blast effect, while that secondary helmet with its rounded dual-lens visor offers a distinctly different look from his primary silver-visored headgear.

MASK Wave 2 5

Here’s the full spread laid out for the Stealth Submarine Cycle set, and one thing I noticed right away is how the translucent white tire smoke effect has a different sculptural language from the torpedo effects, with softer, more organic billowing shapes compared to those sharp, elongated flame trails. The translucent blue claw-like mask blast effect sits next to the secondary rounded helmet, and you can see how its jagged, icy tendrils would pair well with Sly Rax’s covert operative look when attached.
