Masters of the Universe MOTU SDCC 2025 Panel Reveals

Mattel brought the power—and then some—during their Masters of the Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, unveiling a wave of new figures that had fans buzzing. The reveals included the first look at the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection She-Ra and her trusty steed Swift Wind, along with Wave 3 of the MOTU Origins ThunderCats crossover line featuring Lion-O, Panthro, and the creatively reimagined Panthor-Man. Making a surprising splash, Mattel also debuted the MOTU Origins x Transformers crossover line, showcasing Bumblebee Armor Man-At-Arms and Megatron Armor Skeletor. But perhaps the most hotly anticipated reveal was the grand return of the MOTU Origins Snake Lair, now fully revamped and ready to coil into collectors’ hands.

She-Ra and Swift Wind Cartoon Collection

One of the most magical moments from Mattel’s MOTU panel was the official reveal of She-Ra and Swift Wind joining the Origins Cartoon Collection. This duo marks a highly anticipated expansion into the Princess of Power side of the MOTU universe, now reimagined with the animated styling of the Filmation inspired line. With this release, fans can look forward to a faithful translation of She-Ra’s animated appearance, complete with vibrant colors, cartoon-accurate design, and a heroic new energy for the Origins lineup.

MOTU Origins ThunderCats Wave 3

The MOTU Origins x ThunderCats crossover continues to grow with the digital reveal of three new figures for Wave 3, showcased during Mattel’s SDCC 2025 panel. We knew that wave 3 was coming as we had early information that we revealed earlier in July 2025 so it was great to see the digital renders.

Lion-O

Lion-O, the fearless leader of the ThunderCats, is shown in classic cartoon style, complete with his iconic Claw Shield and bold, animated features.

Panthor

Panthro brings heavy weaponry and brute strength to the collection, captured in an icy-blue design that echoes his fierce personality and mechanical genius.

Panthor-Man

Panthor-Man is a fusion of the MOTU villain’s feline steed with ThunderCats DNA. Although the figure is a repaint of Battle Cat-Man, the figure is depicted with deep purple fur, green armor, and a snarling new face, adding a feral intensity to the wave and teasing what’s next for this wild crossover.

MOTU Transformers

Hasbro and Mattel have officially teamed up for a crossover event that’s sure to shake up the toy world, as they launch the MOTU Origins Transformers line—an ambitious fusion of two iconic franchises. Kicking off this unexpected collaboration are Bumblebee Armor Man-At-Arms and Megatron Armor Skeletor, two figures that embody a true hybrid of the Masters of the Universe and Transformers properties. This crossover reimagines classic characters through the lens of robotic armor and techno-fantasy, blending signature elements from both brands into a one-of-a-kind collector experience.

In a groundbreaking collaboration, two of the biggest names in action figures have come together to create the Masters of the Universe x Transformers Bumblebee Armor Man-At-Arms Action Figure. This fusion reimagines Skeletor as the Evil Decepticon Lord of Destruction, equipped with powerful armor inspired by Megatron himself. Designed in the MOTU Origins 5.5-inch scale, the figure features 16 points of articulation along with deluxe sculpting and a range of weapon accessories that highlight the blend of two legendary villains in one striking release.

The Mattel team also revealed the fully revamped MOTU Origins Snake Lair! The Masters of the Universe Snake Lair, the slithering stronghold of Lady Slither and the Snake Men, is finally becoming a reality! Originally appearing in Classics Mini Comic #5: He-Man vs. Skeletor! Their Final Battle, this fan-favorite fortress never made it to toy shelves—until now. Thanks to the MOTU community’s Eternia’s Choice vote and plenty of fan input, the Snake Lair is being brought to life with all the sinister details you’d expect. From a throne room tailored for Lady Slither to trap-filled defenses like blasters, capture claws, snake shackles, and even an iron maiden, this playset is loaded with features. This is a one-time opportunity to claim the set and fully unlock all tiers to restore Lady Slither’s lair to its former Preternian power.

The Masters of the Universe® Origins Snake Lair Playset is a massive, intricately sculpted fortress designed for both play and display. Measuring 28.46 inches wide, 16.04 inches long, and 29.30 inches high when opened, it’s scaled to fit MOTU Origins figures and aligns perfectly with previously released Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain sets. The playset is divided into two main sections spread across four levels, each teeming with serpentine details. Lady Slither rules from her throne room, where she can hatch her next evil scheme, while the working drawbridge can be unlocked using the Snake Staff. Defense is a key feature, with a repositionable harpoon blaster, a telescoping snake head turret that pivots and fires a projectile, and a weapons rack to arm the Snake Men. Functional play elements include a working elevator, a snake head periscope, a zipline, a ladder, capture devices, and an iron maiden. A hidden passage also provides an escape route from the snake-guarded hatchery, rounding out this venomous fortress.
