With the full set of Wave 1 and Wave 2 MOTU Origins ThunderCats figures making their official debut at Toy Fair 2025, we are looking to toward the future. While we saw an incredible hybrid of both Masters of the Universe and ThunderCats figures revealed, the first wave of MOTU Origins ThunderCats Crossover figures include, Skell-Ra, Lion-O, Cheetara, and Battle-Cat Man. We now have information from our trusted anonymous source that Wave 3 consists of Panthor Man, another version of Lion-O and another version of Panthro. Given we are so early in the line, it’s odd that we are already revisiting characters from the first two waves. Could this be due to shared tooling? Sometimes when a line is new, this is common practice as that line needs to finally support itself and it take a few waves to get it off the ground. So let’s explore this new confirmed list for wave 3 of the MOTU Origins ThunderCats Line.
Panthor Man
Since we know that Panthor Man will be coming to the MOTU Origins ThunderCats line and we hope to see this figure revealed at San Diego Comic Con 2025. While we do not have any official images, we are featuring a MOTU Origins ThunderCats Panthor concept by Richard. Panthor is Skeletor’s loyal feline companion in the Masters of the Universe franchise, serving as an evil counterpart to He-Man’s Battle Cat. First released as a toy in 1984, Panthor shared the same mold as Battle Cat but was distinguished by a deep purple color and a soft, flocked texture. Over the years, Panthor has been re-released with various design changes, including new armor, helmets, and both flocked and unflocked versions.

Figure Designs For Inspiration
Panthor is all decked out with his helmet and saddle armor. You can see it has incredible detail with all the spikes and hammered metal like finish. You can armor him all up with face armor and on his saddle. We could totally see a MOTU ThunderCats version using armor style as an inspiration for the figure.

Panthor Concept
Using a mashup of an Origins Beast Man mixed with Mythic Legions tribute figure Purrrplor, Planetarydogtoys feet and helmet, Richard created this stellar looking Panthor MOTU Origins ThunderCats concept, that integrated inspiration from many of the previously released Panthor figure designs.

The helmet is removeable, as we expect the actual production figure to look, and you can see how great the figure looks with the oversized armor from the Mythic Legions Purrrplor figure.

Lion-O
Lion-O has already been released as part of Wave 1. Part Ethernian gear, part classic Thundercat, the Wave 1 Lion-O is the perfect crossover blend. What will they do with the King of the ThunderCats this time around? Time will only tell, but when we get more information, we will be sure to update you. In the meantime, you can just let your imagination run wild with what they can do with Lion-O version 2.

Panthro
Suprisingly the third named figure for Wave 3 is Panthro. He too has already been released as part of Wave 2. Panthro blended the best of Man At Arms inspired gear and part classic Thundercat, the Wave 2 Pantrho was the quintessential version of the mechanic/ inventor of the ThunderCats. What will they do with the strongest ThunderCat this time around? Time will only tell for him as well, but when we get more information, we will be sure to update you. In the meantime, there are endless possibilities with what they can do with Panthro version 2.
