Masterverse MOTU Core 2023 Figure Reveals from SDCC 2022
Skelesorceress (aka Sorceress Evil-Lyn) Roboto, Stratos, & Frosta were revealed at SDCC 2022 as part of the Masterverse 2023 figure reveals
During Day 2 of San Diego Comic Con 2022, Mattel held a reveal panel where they showed off 2 more Masterverse figures (3 if you count the Shadow Weaver that was in the Mattel Booth)! Roboto and Sorceress Evil-Lyn were the only hold outs from the CANAL DOS ROSMINEIROS leaks and it is great to see this wave finally being produced and released! Mattel has dubbed this Wave 1 of the Core Masterverse 2023 figures, which is confusing as they seemed to have started over but maybe that is what they are calling it for now as they have not sorted out all of the Masterverse waves yet.
How it Started
Before we dive into the figures, let’s take a trip down memory lane that goes waaaaaaaaaay back to March of 2022!
An image shared on the CANAL DOS ROSMINEIROS Instagram page shows possible upcoming Masterverse Revelation and Pop figures. They posted the image and had the following caption (please keep in mind it was in Brazilian and this is the translation that came up)
“Exclusive Official Announcement!! Upcoming figures to come in the Masterverse Collection: Malignant (Witch), Robot, Stratos and Frosta. Rosmineiros Channel, your best source of Masters of the Universe! I’m going to be a good one.”
The image shows the following characters that have now been officially revealed by Mattel (FINALLY!!!)!!!
- Sorceress Evil Lyn which they are now calling “SkeleSorceress” or Skele-Sorceress” – we are not sure how to write this one lol!
- Roboto
- Stratos
- Frosta
SkeleSorceress (aka Sorceress Evil Lyn)
Straight from the Netflix Masters of the Universe Revelation cartoon, part 2, Evil Lyn takes over the Sorceress’ powers and becomes the new ‘Sorceress’. They did not say much about her in the panel other than she comes with a soft goods cape that looks like a bat and a scepter.
Roboto
He comes with interchangeable accessories for his hands, which include a canon, a regular hand, and a laser blaster hand. His jaw is slightly hinged where you can move it up and down just like the original. His body is translucent where you can see the inside workings of his collider.
He also comes with two halves of the Power Sword and he will be able to hold them to give him the look of forging the two halves of the Power Sword back together.
Frosta
Our trusted Toy Habits source has confirmed that Frosta would be part of a future Masters of the Universe Masterverse assortment. Frosta was a part of the Great Rebellion from the Filmation She-Ra Princess of Power Line. It is great that Mattel is adding more PoP figures to the Masterverse line and Frosta is outstanding!
Stratos
Stratos is a tried and true MOTU character, and if we are getting him in Masterverse, then it’s very exciting to get this core character! Appearing in the Netflix Masters of the Universe Revelation cartoon in a massive battle scene, flying in next to Buzz Off and the rest of the Bird People of Avion in a battle to save Eternia! Stratos is a character that has appeared in previous MOTU lines. They did not have a produced figure of Stratos and we are unsure if the Stratos in the Mattel Booth display at SDCC 2022 is this version or if they are making a Revelation version so we are throwing him in here anyway! You can get a sneak peak of the figure on the TV screen behind the panel!
