McFarlane DC Multiverse Clark Kent Superman The Movie Elite Edition Preorders Go Live November 5
McFarlane Toys has announced that its DC Multiverse Clark Kent Elite Edition action figure, based on Christopher Reeve’s portrayal in the 1978 classic Superman: The Movie, will go up for preorder on November 5, 2026. Entertainment Earth’s Drop Zone has the figure scheduled for 9:00 AM PT, with preorders also expected at other major retailers.
We previously covered this figure in our McFarlane Superman The Movie Clark Kent Elite Edition Early Look, and now we have the official preorder date and a complete breakdown of everything included.
Rather than another Superman figure in his familiar blue and red suit, McFarlane is giving collectors Christopher Reeve’s Clark Kent, complete with his Daily Planet attire and accessories that recreate his transformation into the Man of Steel. It’s a fun choice for the Elite Edition line, particularly with the number of film-specific accessories included. I’ve never actually bought a Superman action figure before, but this Clark Kent Elite Edition might finally change that. Between the Christopher Reeve likeness, the Superman transformation, and all those accessories, McFarlane might have found a way to get me to buy my first one!
McFarlane Clark Kent Elite Edition Figure Details
The 7-inch scale Clark Kent figure features a dark business suit, light blue dress shirt, and patterned tie, with a head sculpt based on Christopher Reeve’s likeness. McFarlane has included an alternate head, removable hat, glasses, and folded glasses, along with two interchangeable dress shirt attachments. The accessory selection goes beyond the usual alternate hands and includes a briefcase, newspaper, and soft goods trench coat. There’s even a full-size replica Daily Planet press badge featuring Clark Kent’s photograph, which is a particularly nice inclusion for fans of the original film. Four extra hands, an art card, display base, and Elite Points card round out the package. The packaging features Christopher Reeve as Superman flying above the city at night, while the Elite Points card can be redeemed through McFarlane’s rewards program for eligible rewards, including exclusive prototypes.

McFarlane has recreated Clark pulling open his shirt to reveal the classic red and yellow Superman emblem underneath, with his loosened tie hanging across the exposed blue Superman shirt. The jacket is sculpted open, and the alternate hands allow Clark to grip either side of his clothing. It’s one of the most iconic moments associated with Christopher Reeve’s Superman, and the figure offers a display option that goes beyond Clark simply standing in his business suit. The sculpted hair, facial expression, and tailoring of the jacket are also worth noting, particularly since the figure needs to work as both Clark Kent and Superman during his transformation.

In-Hand Early Look
Huge thanks to @just_bsing on Instagram for posting these images! “You’ve got me?! Who’s got you?!” Boy are we thrilled to see this one finally surface. McFarlane Toys has a Clark Kent 1978 Elite Edition figure on the way, inspired by the legendary Superman The Movie, and I cannot be more excited. Christopher Reeve’s portrayal of the bumbling, lovable Clark Kent is one of the most iconic performances in superhero film history, and seeing that classic look captured in figure form is just super exciting. We don’t have an official release date yet, but as @just_bsing noted, for obvious reasons it should be very soon. I always loved the duality Reeve brought to the role, how he could shift from mild-mannered reporter to the Man of Steel with just a change in posture and presence, and this figure looks like it really leans into that Clark Kent charm. No word yet on accessories or full details, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled. So let’s take a look at the McFarlane Superman The Movie Clark Kent Edition!
In Hand Image Updates 10/28/26
Thanks to alaw2046 on Instagram for posting these additional images of Clark Kent alongside the Christopher Reeve Superman The Movie figure. Outfitted in a dark grey suit with a vest, tie, and fedora, Clark carries a brown briefcase that really sells the mild-mannered reporter look. You can see how the cape on Superman has a nice drape and weight to it, with the red fabric pooling naturally rather than sticking out stiffly.

We get a closer look at both sides of the coin, with Superman and Clark Kent displayed together. The Christopher Reeve likeness on Clark is immediately striking, from the sculpted glasses to the subtle, almost meek expression that perfectly contrasts the confident Superman head sculpt beside him.

Huge thanks to @just_bsing for posting additional in hand images by @mcfarlane_toys_official Elite Clark Kent in full attire! Wrapped in a cream-colored trench coat with a belted waist and visible stitching along the edges, Clark Kent looks every bit the Daily Planet reporter, with a dark fedora, round glasses, and a light blue dress shirt peeking out beneath a dark tie. The brown leather briefcase with its sculpted buckle closures is a great touch, and I like how the layering of the coat over the suit and dark trousers gives him a real sense of depth and texture you don’t always get at this scale.

You can see how the open hand has some really nice sculpted detail in the fingers and palm, with natural creasing that sells the gesture. The dark vest underneath the coat has a subtle sheen that contrasts well against the matte finish of the trench coat fabric.

Here’s a closer look at the shoes, which have a nice sculpted sole edge and a slight gloss that reads as polished leather, paired with charcoal trousers that drape naturally over them. The trench coat’s loose belt and dangling strap add a casual, lived-in quality that keeps Clark from looking too stiff or posed.

Something I appreciate here is the head sculpt, which captures a mild, understated expression that just feels right for Clark. The oversized glasses sit naturally on his face with translucent lenses, and the fedora has a nice pinched crown with a slightly upturned brim that adds a classic 1940s reporter vibe.

We can see Superman here in mid transformation with his alternate more brooding head. The front of his shirt can be switched so you can see him either in his dress shirt, or the dress shirt mid open to reveal his Superman Suit underneath. His hat and glasses are also removeable.

Packaging Photos
The packaging presents a great Daily Planet press badge as the card art centerpiece, complete with a photo of Clark in his bespectacled reporter look. You can see how the tray is loaded with accessories, including an alternate head sculpt, multiple swap-out hands, and what appears to be a pair of glasses.

The white box uses a clean, minimal design with the classic Superman: The Movie logo rendered in metallic silver and gold at the bottom. A large window panel gives you a full look at Clark Kent in his open-suit reveal pose, with the Daily Planet press badge art adding a nice thematic touch to the presentation.

The box art features a gorgeous close-up photograph of Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent, capturing his signature wide-eyed, slightly bewildered expression behind those oversized round glasses. I like how the dark suit and striped tie in the photo complement the packaging’s sleek black framing, tying the whole presentation together.

Clark Kent comes packed with a generous spread of accessories, and here’s where you really get a sense of what this set offers through the tray. The Daily Planet press badge insert is a fun design element that doubles as both packaging art and a nod to Clark’s day job, with the oversized “PRESS” lettering and photo ID giving it an almost prop-replica feel.

Here’s a closer look at the Clark Kent head sculpt, and the Christopher Reeve likeness is genuinely impressive, from the strong jawline to the neatly swept-back dark hair and those piercing blue eyes. The open suit jacket and white dress shirt pull apart to reveal the iconic S-shield underneath in bold blue, red, and yellow, with the sculpted folds in the fabric selling that mid-transformation moment beautifully.

The front of the box leans heavily into the 1978 film’s iconic imagery, with a sweeping shot of Christopher Reeve in full Superman glory soaring against a glowing cityscape, while the side panel features his Clark Kent portrait in suit and glasses. I like the way the deep purple and blue tones of the nighttime Metropolis skyline wrap around the box, giving the whole package a cinematic quality that feels true to the film.
