MOTU Chronicles Movie Beast Man Potential Release Date Release

We may finally have another clue about when MOTU Chronicles Movie Beast Man is coming! A listing at Deep Discount is giving us a possible timeframe for Skeletor’s bungling boob to finally join the lineup. But considering everything we’ve seen surrounding this figure, I wouldn’t start marking calendars just yet.

Back in September, we published an article asking Where Is MOTU Chronicles Beast Man and When Is He Coming?. At the time, Beast Man appeared to have been part of an earlier assortment, only to disappear from the revised Wave 4 packaging. Mattel had already confirmed he was in development, but nobody seemed to know exactly where he fit into the lineup.

And somehow, the mystery has only gotten more confusing!

Is MOTU Chronicles Movie Beast Man Coming in April 2027?

The Deep Discount listing identifies the figure as Masters of the Universe Chronicles 2026 Movie Beast Man, with Mattel model number JKJ31 and UPC 194735350780. Under the product attributes, the retailer lists an available date of April 30, 2027. That’s something to work with, but I wouldn’t put too much stock in April 30 being the actual release day. Retailers frequently use estimated availability dates, and the last day of the month could simply be a placeholder. For now, April 2027 is our best guess based on what Deep Discount is showing us. Mattel hasn’t confirmed the date and this figure has been up for preorder on BBTS and EE since the launch of the figures, and we don’t know whether the retailer is working from an actual distribution estimate or simply filling in a date until more information becomes available.

Beast Man Is Missing From Mattel’s First Three Chronicles Waves

Here’s what makes the April timeframe particularly confusing. As we covered in our SDCC 2026 breakdown of future MOTU Chronicles assortments, Mattel presented three upcoming waves featuring nine figures:

  • Wave 1: He-Man, Clawful, and Mekaneck
  • Wave 2: Fisto, Teela, and Mer-Man
  • Wave 3: Spikor, Man-At-Arms, and Buzz-Off

Nine figures, three waves, and not a Beast Man in sight!

What’s particularly frustrating is that Beast Man is a main character and he has a major role in the 2026 Masters of the Universe movie, yet he’s apparently being pushed much further down the Chronicles release schedule than several characters who aren’t even part of the film. I understand Mattel wanting to mix movie characters with new interpretations of classic MOTU favorites. We’ve already seen some terrific designs come out of that approach. But Beast Man seems like an obvious character to have available while interest in the movie is still fresh.

The longer Mattel waits, the greater the risk that some collectors will simply lose interest. That’s especially true for people collecting the movie characters specifically, rather than the entire Chronicles line. Of course, Mattel hasn’t announced that Beast Man was delayed or moved into another wave. We simply don’t know where he fits into the schedule.

We’ve Already Had an Early Look at Movie Beast Man

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the movie version of Beast Man. During Mattel’s SDCC 2026 panel, we got an early look at the figure through work-in-progress imagery and digital sculpt turnarounds. We later followed that up with our MOTU Chronicles Movie Beast Man Figure Early Look, featuring a clearer look at what appeared to be the production figure, thanks to @kennervader on Instagram. This version of Beast Man is quite a departure from his classic appearance. He’s considerably bulkier, with a massive fur-covered mantle, large spikes, heavy armor, and his familiar whip.

And that’s part of what makes this whole situation so strange. Mattel has already shown us the figure, we’ve seen additional images, and retailers have started listing him. Yet we still don’t have a confirmed release window or an announced assortment that includes him.

Beast Man Remains One of the Most Confusing MOTU Chronicles Figures

At this point, Beast Man might be one of the most confusing figures in the entire Chronicles lineup. We had an early packaging appearance that seemed to place him in Wave 4, followed by revised packaging that no longer included him. Mattel confirmed the figure was in development and showed him during SDCC, but left him out of the three upcoming assortments. Now Deep Discount is pointing toward April 2027, although that date remains little more than an educated guess. What concerns me most is the timing. Beast Man is a major character in the movie, and pushing him too far beyond the film’s release risks missing the period when collectors are most interested in assembling the movie cast. By the time he arrives, attention could already have shifted toward whatever Mattel has planned next. I still want to know where Beast Man fits into all of this, and hopefully Mattel will clear things up before too much longer. For now, April 2027 gives us another possible piece of the puzzle, but Skeletor’s favorite henchman is certainly taking the scenic route to the toy shelves!
