By the Power of Grayskull! We’ve got MOTU Core Wave 4 in hand and boy are we thrilled to finally be able to share these first hand images with all of you! We previously brought you the MOTU Core Wave 4 official images which gave us a really good look at what Mattel had in store for this wave, but there’s nothing quite like seeing figures in hand to get the full picture of what you’re actually going to be holding on your shelf. This wave includes Skeletor v2, Teela v2, Ram Man, and Tri-Klops, and I can’t be more excited to dig into each one of these with you. The whole wave is looking really cool in person. Skeletor v2 and Teela v2 both bring updated movie-accurate takes on two of the most iconic characters in all of Eternia, and getting to compare them side by side with their first Core releases is so much fun. Ram Man is one I’ve been especially eager to get my hands on because that stocky, compact silhouette is so unique in the MOTU lineup and I just love how they’ve translated his heavy armor and battering ram energy into the Core scale. And then there’s Tri-Klops, a deep cut villain who I always loved seeing pop up in any toy line, and that rotating visor with the triple eyes is such a fun feature at this scale. The military-tactical look they’ve given him with the olive drab armor and ammunition belt is super exciting to see rendered in hand. All four figures have that movie-accurate styling that Mattel has been nailing with the Core line, and I love how each one brings something distinct to the wave, from Ram Man’s incredible bulk to Teela’s sleek gold and white color scheme. So let’s take a look at MOTU Core Wave 4 in hand!

Here’s a closer look at the full MOTU Core Wave 4 lineup still sealed on their cards. Each package features fiery painted artwork depicting the He-Man versus Skeletor clash, with swirling purple energy framing the edges and the figures displayed behind clear plastic blisters alongside their respective accessories.

Here are some fun shots of the full Wave 4 lineup freed from their cards and standing together. Skeletor’s translucent teal Havoc Staff energy effect towers over the group, while Ram Man’s battle axe, Tri-Klops’ rifle-style blaster, and Teela’s staff and sword round out a nicely varied accessory spread across the wave.

Skeletor V2

Skeletor’s packaging gives you a great look at everything included inside the blister. You can see his green and gray color scheme alongside a translucent teal energy effect piece, his ram-horned Havoc Staff with pink gem accents, and what appears to be a secondary hooded head sculpt nestled in the lower right corner.

The back of Skeletor’s card features illustrated portraits of Teela, Ram Man, and Tri-Klops alongside a brief character bio and stat bars for Strength, Combat, Magic, Intelligence, and Evil. I like how the painted landscape behind them extends the purple, rocky Eternia setting from the front of the card, with a massive serpent creature looming overhead in fiery orange tones.

Skeletor’s translucent green body is the real showstopper here, with the teal plastic carrying through his torso, arms, and hands while the black hooded cape and ornate chest armor ground the whole look. Those hot pink gem accents on his chest piece and belt buckle pop against the dark, intricately scrolled armor plating, and his purple boots and gauntlets add just enough color contrast to keep the figure from reading as monochrome.

Skeletor’s skull face sculpt is fantastic up close, with deep-set eye sockets housing small reddish-brown eyes and pronounced teeth lining that sinister grin, all in a bright yellow that contrasts sharply against the textured black hood. I like how the translucent teal energy effect piece wraps around his forearm and fingers like crackling magic, with the swirling tendrils of green plastic giving the accessory a ghostly, ethereal quality.

A close-up reveals the translucent teal energy effect topping Skeletor’s Havoc Staff, and the sculpted flame tendrils have a gorgeous organic flow with jagged peaks and curling wisps that give the piece real volume. Nested inside the swirling teal plastic, you can spot a small pinkish-purple orb near the base of the effect, sitting where the dark gray staff shaft feeds into the mass of sculpted energy.

Here’s a closer look at the back of Skeletor’s cape, and the sculpted detail is really impressive. A braided chain texture runs down the center seam from the hood to the hem, and the tattered, hole-riddled lower edge lets just enough of those purple boots peek through beneath the weathered fabric folds.

Tri-Klops

Tri-Klops comes packed with his rifle-style blaster tucked alongside him in the blister, and you can see the olive drab armor plating and tan cross-body strap looking sharp even through the plastic. I like how the card art in the lower corner shows off a stylized illustration of the character with his rotating visor glowing red, tubes running from his helmet down to his chest gear.

The back of Tri-Klops’ card features the same cross-sell lineup of Teela, Ram Man, and Skeletor illustrated against that purple, rocky Eternia landscape with the fiery serpent creature overhead. Tri-Klops’ bio box describes him as an evil warrior sharpshooter with stat bars for Strength, Combat, Intelligence, Tech, and a fitting Sight category.

Tri-Klops’ ammunition belt is really something up close, with each individual cartridge loop sculpted in a row of hanging strips that drape naturally over his olive drab pants. I like how the gold-toned wrist cuffs catch your attention against those dark textured gloves, and the gray-and-black shemagh scarf bunched around his neck adds a nice layer of tactical detail between the helmet and chest armor.

Here’s a closer look at the chest armor on Tri-Klops, and you can really appreciate how the olive drab vest panels frame that orange ribbed center strip running vertically down the sternum. The chainmail-like weave sculpted beneath the armor plates has a dense, tight pattern that contrasts nicely with the smoother segmented shoulder pad on his left arm.

A close-up reveals the red sensor element centered on Tri-Klops’ visor band, sitting flush against the smooth black dome of his helmet with sculpted rectangular module housings flanking it on either side. You can see how the exposed lower half of his face has a serious, tight-lipped expression, with the high collar of his dark neck guard featuring segmented armor plating and ribbed tubing that feeds down into the chest piece.

You can see how the exposed lower portion of Tri-Klops’ face captures actor Kojo Attah’s likeness, with the brown skin tone sitting naturally between the heavy olive drab visor band and that dense, layered neck guard below. The ribbed tubing running from beneath the helmet down into the chest armor has a corrugated texture that pairs well with the smoother, broader vest panels flanking them on either side.

A close-up reveals just how well the chainmail weave texture under Tri-Klops’ armor carries through at the neckline, with the dense interlocking pattern filling the space between the collar guard and the upper chest plates. The olive drab vest panels have recessed hexagonal bolt details along their edges that I hadn’t noticed until getting this close, adding a subtle industrial quality to the armor’s sculpt.

Here’s a closer look at the back of Tri-Klops, and the chainmail weave texture carries all the way through the torso with impressive consistency, filling the space between those angular olive drab shoulder armor panels. Teela

Teela’s packaging shows her in the blister alongside her rifle staff and sword, with the gold and white color scheme of her outfit looking striking against the card art behind her. I like how the lower portion of the card features a painted illustration of Teela in action with her auburn hair flowing, giving you a sense of the character’s movie design before you even open the box.

The back of Teela’s card shares the same fiery Eternia landscape as Skeletor’s, but here you get a look at the cross-sell portraits of Tri-Klops, Skeletor, and Ram Man alongside their character titles. Something I appreciate here is Teela’s stat bars showing high marks in Combat and Intelligence with a solid Magic rating, which lines up nicely with her Heroic Warrior Goddess designation in the bio text.

Teela’s gold top has a gorgeous corset-style ribbing sculpted across the midsection, and the white chevron accent at the neckline creates a clean break between the textured gold panels and her bare shoulders. I like how the brown leather strapping wraps her thighs in an asymmetric harness pattern, with the holster hanging naturally against her hip and those deep red wrapped boots adding a rich color anchor to the lower half of the figure.

Teela’s face sculpt captures actress Camila Mendes’ likeness nicely, with her auburn hair swept back into a topknot and loose strands framing her cheekbones. You can see how the reptilian scale texture across the gold top panels has a tight, intricate pattern that gives the fabric a real sense of weight, especially where it meets the raised collar flanking her neck.

Teela’s side profile gives you a great look at how the gold thigh armor panels have that same reptilian scale texture as her top, with the pattern wrapping seamlessly around the leg piece above her deep red boots. Armed with both her sword and rifle staff, the accessories are well-proportioned to each other, with the rifle staff’s long brown shaft and pointed blade tip extending well past her silhouette.

Teela’s side profile shows off the black leather bracer wrapping her forearm, with its layered, overlapping panel sculpt contrasting against the smooth gold of her upper arm. I noticed that the gold tiara piece nestled into her auburn topknot has a subtle curved shape that follows the hairline, a small accessory detail that’s easy to miss but ties into the overall gold-and-white color story.

Here’s a closer look at the back of Teela, and the reptilian scale texture on her gold top carries through beautifully across the entire back panel with no break in the pattern. The brown leather cross-body harness forms a clean X across her shoulder blades, feeding down into the hip holster where her rifle staff sits naturally against her thigh.

Ram Man

Ram Man’s packaging gives you a clear look at his heavy gray shoulder armor and crimson tunic through the blister, with his double-headed battle axe tucked in beside him. The card art in the lower corner features a painted illustration of the character in his signature helmet, fist raised, capturing actor Jon Xue Zhang’s likeness.

The back of Ram Man’s card features the same fiery Eternia landscape seen across the wave, with illustrated portraits of Tri-Klops, Skeletor, and Teela filling out the cross-sell section. Ram Man’s bio describes him as a fierce fighter who always uses his head, with stat bars rating Strength, Combat, Intelligence, Armor, and a fun Wall-Smashing category.

Ram Man’s gray helmet frames his face tightly, and you can see how the sculpt captures actor Jon Xue Zhang’s likeness with that neatly trimmed mustache and stern, focused expression peering out from beneath the heavy armor. The dark burgundy gauntlets have individually sculpted fingers on his clenched fist, contrasting against those bare upper arms where the clean skin tone meets the riveted metal plating of the shoulder armor.

Here’s a closer look at Ram Man’s chest armor, and the sculpted chain link detailing running along the raised ridges on either side of the collar is really impressive at this scale. The round medallion buckle on his belt has a hammered, irregular surface with what looks like a bull or ram motif stamped into it, sitting snugly against the thick brown leather strap where it cinches over the crosshatched crimson tunic.

Here’s a closer look at Ram Man from the back, and the gray shoulder armor has a clean, beveled edge running along the bottom where it meets his bare arms, with a sculpted central ridge running vertically up toward the helmet. The crimson tunic’s pleated strips fan out nicely below the belt, and you can see the dotted texture punched across each panel carrying all the way to those jagged, serrated hems.
