MOTU Core Wave 4 Translucent Skeletor Package Reveal

Boy are we thrilled to see this one, because translucent variants of classic MOTU characters are always super exciting, and when it’s the Lord of Destruction himself getting the treatment, you know it’s going to be something special. I just love translucent figures in general, and a translucent Skeletor is one of those releases that immediately takes me back to the magic of the vintage line and all those incredible color variants that made collecting Masters so much fun back in the day. From the packaging reveal we can see that classic Skeletor look captured in that gorgeous see-through plastic, and I love how it gives him this eerie, ghostly vibe that really suits the character. It almost reminds me of the spirit of Skeletor floating through the halls of Snake Mountain! BBTS shows a September 2026 release date, and EE shows October 2026, but the fact that we’re seeing packaged images means this one could be hitting shelves sooner than we think! Will we see more translucent variants in the Core line going forward? Only time will tell, but I can’t be more excited about this one. The card art here is a real treat, with a split composition that puts He-Man on the left against a fiery orange backdrop and Skeletor’s menacing skull on the right bathed in purple and magenta. I like how the lower portion features a more detailed illustration of Skeletor in his hooded cloak with glowing red eyes, gripping his ram-headed Havoc Staff.

Skeletor v2 is covered head to toe in a translucent blue body with purple bracers and boots, draped in a dark cape with a tattered lower edge and a sculpted chest piece featuring pink gem accents. The Havoc Staff is topped with a massive flame-shaped head, and his yellow skull face peers out from beneath a dark hood.

The Havoc Staff has deeply curved horns with pink gem insets at the base, mounted on a long shaft with segmented ridging. A large flame effect piece is included alongside the staff, sculpted with layered, swirling tendrils that taper to jagged points.

The sculpted chest harness has an ornate, almost gothic design with raised filigree detailing around each pink gem, one centered on the chest and another matching on the belt buckle. His cape drapes with real weight and has a nice raw, frayed edge along the bottom that gives it a worn, organic feel.

His purple boots have a sculpted cuff that flares out just below the knee, with fine crease lines running down to the soles. The hood frames his skull face tightly, with a smooth interior lining that contrasts against the textured exterior of the cape.

Full figure shot here gives a clean look at the overall color breakdown, with the green body, purple extremities, and black armor all reading as a cohesive package. The tattered cape hem has an uneven, shredded cut that differs from strip to strip, and the belt section carries a heavily textured sculpt with overlapping leather-like panels.
