Wun-Dar’s journey from rumor to reality has been a fun one to follow, starting with the early intel that he was heading to the Masterverse Vintage Collection and then getting a much clearer picture when official images surfaced, and now we’ve got the next piece of the puzzle thanks to WSI Toys on eBay, who has come through once again with an early drop giving us our first in-package look at this figure. For those who know the history, Wun-Dar has always carried a certain mystique in the MOTU world, a character rooted in one of the most fascinating pieces of vintage lore, and seeing him packaged up on that Vintage Collection card art just hits the right notes. The card itself continues the clean retro-inspired presentation that this sub-line has been delivering, and it’s always satisfying to see how these figures look when they’re finally sealed up and ready for shelves, because there’s a difference between loose promotional shots and the real thing sitting in its blister. The brown and silver color scheme pops nicely against the card back, and the overall presentation reinforces why this Vintage Collection line has been such a rewarding corner of Masterverse for collectors who appreciate that bridge between modern articulation and classic aesthetics. It’s one thing to see a figure in digital renders or even loose on a table, but that in-package context adds a layer of finality to it, confirming that this one is moving through the pipeline and getting closer to landing in collectors’ hands. Wun-Dar sits in his packaging here, and it’s clear he’s built on the He-Man body with a repainted Zodac head, brown skin tone, and a dark chest harness with a distinctive chevron design. A second head is tucked beside him in the tray, giving collectors a swap option right out of the box.
The back of the box features three inset photos showing Wun-Dar’s accessory options: an axe paired with a sword, the alternate Zodac helmet equipped over the head sculpt alongside a laser rifle, and a full figure shot with the helmet on and all weapons equipped. The card art above depicts Wun-Dar battling a red creature in a Preternian landscape with a cool skull face looming in the distance.
Unlike other Masterverse Vintage Collection releases, Wun-Dar never had a vintage card back to draw from since he was originally a mail-away figure, so this packaging art is entirely original. The scene is packed with detail: Wun-Dar charges through shallow water fending off red creatures while a sorceress fights alongside him, and if you look closely at the temple steps in the upper left, Evil-Incarnate is perched there watching the chaos unfold.
