It’s that time of year again, yes San Diego Comic Con might be over, but don’t worry because we have the Hasbro Pulse Con 2024 Fan event! Yes Hasbro Pulse will be celebrating 5 years with a special 1 day live stream event hosted by none other than Jordan Hembrough! You might remember Jordan from the Travel Channel Show “Toy Hunter”, but most recently he hosted Hasbro’s booth online at San Diego Comic Con 2024! This Hasbro Pulse Con 2024 Fans Event will feature new products from brands like GI Joe, Transformers, Marvel, Star Wars, Dungeon’s and Dragons, and Magic the Gathering. Digital Render Reveals

The Joe Team finally posted some digital render reveals that they mistakenly left out of the Pulse Con stream this morning1 We get to see the renders for Heavy Duty and Law & Order!

Heavy Duty

Heavy Duty comes packed with a weapons system that rivals Metal Head’s! He also comes with two head sculpts, and a barrage of missiles!

Heavy Duty’s trademark was filed for renewal back in July 2023 and he was also announced as a name only reveal at SDCC 2024, Heavy Duty is slotted to come to the GI Joe Classified Series in the future. Thanks to gijoe_forever for posting pics via Shaw Liú, we get to see what Heavy Duty’s head sculpt looks like! Double the pleasure, double the fun, he’ll come with two head sculpts. Featuring his classic baseball cap backwards head sculpt, he’ll also feature a head sculpt without a cap. Given the loadout that the vintage Heavy Duty figure came with, we can expect something similar to how the Iron Grenadiers Heavy Metal was produced so we are looking forward to his release but also more prototype shots coming before he’s officially revealed.

Here are the side profiles of the test shots and you can already see the stitching in the baseball cap.

Lenny said at the SDCC 2024 panel that if there is anything that was not realized in Heavy Duty’s vintage design, it will be in the Classified Series!

Heavy Duty Trademark Renewal

We’ve been covering Mattel Masters of the Universe trademark renewals for quite some time. Today, we focus our attention to Hasbro’s trademark renewals and we’ve discovered that they recently started the process for renewing a trademark for the GI Joe character named Heavy Duty. Hasbro filed this application back on June 13, 2023 and this could mean one of two things. First, companies will renew trademarks because they do not want to lose the naming rights to the figure. Second, it could mean that they are renewing the trademark because they have a figure in the works and this is just a formality. We like to think it’s the latter so let’s take a closer look at the Heavy Duty character and some custom concepts

Heavy Duty Vintage GI Joe Figure

Heavy Duty was released in 1991 and his figure was 100% original with no shared parts with other figures. Although the 90’s is where GI Joe went off the rails, the 1991 figure assortment gave us some cool versions of the some characters.

Heavy Duty came with a green backpack, a green launcher base, a red missile site, a black center mount cannon, two green spring-loaded side-mount missile launchers, and two light green missiles. The two missile launchers attached to the sides of the ammo box. The gun barrels attached to the top of the ammo box, the backpack attached to the bar at the back of the ammo box, and the site fit into the backpack’s post.

His file card reads:

“A classical guitarist in his spare time, HEAVY DUTY sees little difference between playing Bach’s “Two Part Invention in D Minor” and operating his Man-Portable Heavy Weapons System. They both require right and left hand independence, exceptional hand-eye coordination and the ability to concentrate simultaneously on two or more complex operations. To him, playing Bach correctly and hitting a distant, fast-moving target are two sides of the same coin. It also represents his cultural refinement.”

“Let’s say you zap a laser-guided missile at a tank. You try to keep your laser-guided designator dot on that tank for the entire run of the missile while that tank commander is popping caps at you. If you move, the laser dot disappears from the tank and your missile wanders astray. Heavy Duty carries enough extra firepower to shut down the enemy while his missiles are running. And Heavy Duty doesn’t duck for ANYBODY!”

Law and Order

Law and Order comes with a great loadout and Order comes with two head sculpts!

Revealed at SDCC 2024, Law and Order will be joining the line!

Law & Order was first released as part of the sixth series in 1987. Law came with a white helmet, a black leash, a black uzi, a black nightstick, and a brown dog, “Order.”

September 13, 2024 Update: GI Joe Classified Series Figure Reveals

Hasbro Pulse 2024 kicks off with some incredible GI Joe main wave action figures! Today was the day where mustaches rules with Leatherneck and Dial Tone! We also got some hilarious dio images for Starduster in an homage to his cereal mail away legacy! Plus some awesome Cobra figures with one new Dreadnock and one army builder! All these mainline items go up for Preorders at 1pm PST/ 4pm EST premium members, 2pm PST / 5pm EST for everyone else on Hasbro Pulse.com So let’s dive into the new GI Joe Classified Hasbro Pulsecon 2024 reveals! Leatherneck

The dio image, teases something special in the background which we will take a closer look at when the official images get released.  Leatherneck is sporting that cool stache and 5 o’clock shadow on his neck. He has his signature patch on his left shoulder. He has a tough gym teacher kind of look.

Dial Tone

Here we have more stache love with Dial Tone!  Dial tone is the communication tech specialist. His backpack opens up to reveal a keyboard for his mixer board and his mic is articulated. He comes with the electronic ear device.

His cell phone can connect to his blaster so he can see what’s going on.

Zandar

Another incredible Dreadnock with a classic look. He has gold demon skulls on his shoulders. He has pockets in his backpack to hold torpedoes. He has a cut from Zarana’s jack. He has deco and tattoos under his shirt as well.

Love those gold chains hanging off his blue jeans as well.

SAW Viper

Here we have a trooper building with Saw Viper who is vintage inspired. His rifle is like a motorized bayonet.

He is a very layered figure to be able to remove parts of his outfit to give him different looks.

Hall of Fame

The first human inducted into the GI Joe Hall of Fame is Stanley Weston is inducted as the founder of the original line of action figures 60 years ago.

Starduster GI Joe Classified Series

Hasbro Pulse Con Exclusive GI Joe Classified Edward “STARDUSTER” Skylar. Preorder begins Friday 9/13 at 5PM ET.Hasbro Pulse Premium Members will have access at 4PM ET.

A Hasbro Pulse exclusive, Star Duster was on the name only reveal list and it is great to see him in plastic. Starduster is a throwback to the vintage figure and he looks awesome in his classic colors!

He also comes with a helmet like a lot of the other GI Joe Classified Series figures of late, which makes sense because he has a jet pack.

He also comes with a mini cereal box!

Huge thanks to IGN for posting official images of Starduster. He comes with a huge loadout and he looks freakin awesome!

We can see the Cobra FANG teased on his box, which will make an amazing small form factor vehicle.

Starduster makes his G.I. Joe Classified debut as the 136th figure in this popular line. The figure includes a Steel Corps helmet, visored helmet, binoculars, 4 alternate hands, knife, J.U.M.P. jetpack with 2 removable blast effects, and 3 weapon accessories. It comes packaged inside a special Action Mission Box.

Here is Starduster all geared up with this jetpack and blast effects look amazing!

His visor is a nod to the vintage figure and it’s a cool smokey black color!

I just love this retro style art when it is applies to Star Wars characters! It’s so nostalgic looking!
