MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Card Art Teases Shadow Weaver, Octavia, Horde Trooper

Roy Juarez and Fetch Francisco Etchart teased some upcoming card art with the #ComingSoon on Instagram featuring Ram Man, Hordak, and a possible Catra, She-Ra or Mantenna card art! His incredible sketches not only give us a tease to the incredible art that he has in store for us on these new upcoming figures, but also brings us some new figure teases for Shadow Weaver, Octavia, and the Horde Trooper! Mantenna’s Card Art Shadow Weaver Tease

Let’s start for with the most exciting card art tease featuring Shadow Weaver standing at Hordak’s throne.

Shadow Weaver Tease

Shadow Weaver is a powerful sorceress and member of The Horde. She is shown as being second-in-command to Hordak, the tyrannical leader of the planet Etheria. When the infant Princess Adora was kidnapped, it was Shadow Weaver who cast a spell on her so that she would believe the deceptions of The Horde and blindly follow their evil ways. She would be amazing to see in the line because, like Octavia, she was never produced in vintage She-Ra and the Princess of Power line! Here is a concept from Cults3D as we can imagine what Shadow Weaver could like as a MOTU Origins figure.

This Masters of the Universe toy comes with a removable harness and a time-stop device accessory inspired by the Princess of Power episode “Loo-Kee Lends a Hand.”

Ram Man’s Card Art

Here we can see a tease for the upcoming Ram Man card art with the House of Shokoti in the background.

This cartoon collection version of Ram Man comes with an idol accessory inspired by the “House of Shokoti” episode where Ram Man joins Melaktha and Prince Adam on an archaeological dig where they find a pyramid from the Sands of Time and uncover the idol.

House of Shokoti Part 1 is the 40th episode of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, written by Larry DiTillio and directed by Lou Kachivas. Melaktha and Adam lead an archaeological expedition to find a mysterious pyramid in the Sands of Time, but a shadowy villain is determined to get there first.

She-Ra’s Card Art

So the last card art sketch features a tease for Octavia and Horde Trooper, and it’s for She-Ra.

Octavia Tease

A surprising tease was to see Octavia, who appeared in the Princess of Power Filmation cartoon but was never made in the Princess of Power vintage line! Octavia is an octopus woman from Octopus Cove. She is the Horde-Commander. She is a sea commander in a sea port in The Sea of Sigh, a small Etherian ocean. When she first confronts She-Ra, Octavia easily captures She-Ra in her tentacles. She also demonstrates, with ease that she can capture a talented fighter like Sea Hawk, when captured by Octavia, Sea Hawk appears to be drained of energy, suggesting that Octavia has abilities similar to Leech, and she can drain energy from her opponents. Here is a digital render of Octavia done by the one and only Eternal Customs so we can get a sense of what a MOTU Origins figure could look like.

Her figure buck would be very unique with the tentacles coming out her back! She was released in figure form in the MOTU Classics line and that version came with 4 swords, where we are guessing the inspiration for the weapons came from.

Horde Trooper Tease
