MOTU Origins Masters of the Universe Movie (2026) He-Man Hi-Res Package Reveal

I have the power! We are getting closer and closer to the 2026 Masters of the Universe movie and Mattel is wasting no time getting the toy line ready to go. Huge thanks to @manuel_eduardo_caritas for sharing the packaging reveal for the MOTU Origins Masters of the Universe Movie He-Man figure, with stunning artwork by @fetch.franciscoetchart, and wow does it look amazing! I love that Mattel is bringing the movie figures into the Origins line, keeping that classic style alive while celebrating the new film. The artwork on the card is really cool, with He-Man looking every bit the champion of Grayskull, ready to battle Skeletor and his minions as he seeks to restore Eternia to its former glory. The packaging has that familiar Origins feel we all know and love, and I just love seeing the movie designs interpreted through that lens. It’s super exciting to think about what the rest of the movie lineup will look like as we get closer to release, and whether we’ll see deep cut characters from the film make their way into the Origins line. The card art here is fantastic, with a massive skull formation erupting from a fiery red and orange landscape, framed against a cosmic blue and purple sky. You can see how the artwork leans into a classic sword-and-sorcery vibe, with jagged rock columns and glowing energy radiating outward from the skull’s center, setting a tone that feels both epic and appropriately Eternian. Here’s a closer look at the back of the card, which features He-Man front and center in a dramatic painted scene, with Castle Grayskull looming in the fiery distance and lightning crackling across the sky. The artwork by Fetch (Francisco Etchart) gives the whole composition a sword-and-sorcery paperback feel, with He-Man perched on a rocky outcrop, the Power Sword raised high as energy courses around it.

The packaging artwork splits Eternia into two halves, with a blazing orange sun and desert terrain on one side and a violet, lightning-streaked mountainscape on the other. The Power Sword runs straight down the center as a dividing line, its silver blade etched with subtle detailing along the hilt, tying both worlds together in one striking composition.

This piece by Manuel Eduardo Caritas gives you the full painted artwork featured on the card back, and it’s gorgeous. Castle Grayskull glows with molten orange light from within its skull façade while He-Man commands the foreground, his brown leather harness and iron cross chest medallion rendered with real texture and weight in the illustration.

Here’s a closer look at the full illustration by Manuel Eduardo Caritas, and you can really appreciate the level of detail in He-Man’s face here, from the determined brow line to the flowing dirty blonde hair with that signature lighter streak swept to one side. His silver chest armor features a deep red iron cross medallion with a gem-like quality at its center, while the broad leather belt and segmented battle skirt below carry a worn, weathered brown tone with small metallic studs and a round gold buckle accent.

Something I appreciate here is the way the wrist gauntlets are rendered in the illustration, with heavy, dark iron bands that look thick and utilitarian, contrasting against the warmer skin tones. The leather battle skirt panels hang with a layered, almost Roman gladiator quality, each strip carrying its own small square rivet near the bottom edge.

I’m really digging Manuel Eduardo Caritas’s detailed take on Castle Grayskull here, with the massive skull facade glowing from deep within its hollow eye sockets in a rich amber and crimson, while waterfalls cascade down the weathered stone base below. The fortress tower rising alongside it is covered in individual stone block sculpting and small window cutouts, all washed in a cool blue tone that plays beautifully against the intense firelight pouring out of the skull’s gaping jaw.

The card art features a fiery, explosive scene with a menacing skull looming behind radiating red crystals and molten debris, all framed against a deep blue sky.
