The NYCC 2025 coverage keeps rolling in, and I couldn’t be more excited to share this one with you all! We got to see the Transformers x Masters of the Universe Crossover Wave 2 figures, Optimus Prime Armor He-Man and Starscream Armor Scareglow, up close and personal at the Hasbro booth, and let me tell you, they look absolutely incredible in person! From the fusion of MOTU armor aesthetics with classic Transformers iconography to the way these figures capture the essence of both universes in one amazing design, the figures are looking awesome from a design perspective. What’s even more interesting is that, while Mattel doesn’t have a booth at NYCC 2025, these figures still made a surprise appearance thanks to the Hasbro connection, giving fans a rare chance to see them side by side in all their glory.

Optimus Prime Armor He-Man

The figure is decked out in metallic red and silver armor with sculpted chest plating that mirrors Optimus Prime’s design, right down to the chest windows and Autobot insignias on the shoulders. The blue helmet with yellow hair peeking through perfectly blends He-Man’s heroic look with Optimus’ iconic look. In person, the figure pops with those bright blue accents on the boots, sword, and shield. The Power Sword even has that Cybertronian tech detail that makes it look like it came straight out of a Transformers forge. The mix of the muscular MOTU proportions with the blocky Autobot armor really brings this mashup to life!

Optimus Prime Armor He-Man Mini Comic Tease

Optimus Prime Armor He-Man commands attention with a perfect blend of Eternian might and Autobot engineering, donning Prime’s iconic red, silver, and blue armor across his muscular frame. The chest features the familiar truck grill plating with angular shoulder pauldrons, while the blue helmet with silver faceplate and crest seamlessly integrates into He-Man’s heroic visage. His lower legs sport mechanical wheel-like armor, and his right hand wields a massive Power Sword upgraded with Cybertronian detailing, merging the tech of the Autobots with the magic of Eternia. This powerhouse fusion looks ready to lead the charge, making him an ideal contender for a Wave 2 MOTU Transformers crossover figure.

Starscream Armor Scareglow

Blending that signature Scareglow skeleton motif with Starscream’s angular, robotic armor really brings the figure together. The deep red chest plate and purple shoulder armor give off that unmistakable Decepticon vibe, while the yellow crown and matching spear add a royal edge from when Starscream was bestowed the crown and declared himself the leader for all of 40 seconds lol. I love how the black skeletal face peers through the armor, framed by the sharp jawline. The cape flows nicely behind him, giving this fusion design an otherworldly energy that totally sells the mashup.

The wings on this figure are such a clever design choice, pulling double duty as both an axe and a blaster depending on how they’re configured. Folded back, they give him that signature Starscream silhouette with a bold, angular spread, but when detached or repositioned, they become a pair of energy-infused weapons that perfectly fit the MOTU crossover vibe. The sculpting ties the functionality together with sharp, clean edges and molded circuitry that looks like it channels pure Energon through the blade. I really like how the purple and gold accents carry across the wings and weapon, tying them right into his armor so it all feels cohesive when combined or separated.

Starscream Armor Scare Glow MOTU Transformers 1

The evil ghost warrior Scare Glow gets a whole new twist with his Starscream armor upgrade, and wow, does it show in this figure. His familiar skeletal limbs are paired with bold red, purple, and yellow chest armor straight from the Decepticon second-in-command, and he’s geared up with two wing blasters reimagined as matching axes. The figure also comes with a regal golden crown and a flowing purple removable cape that drapes across his back. Fully assembled, he carries the dual axes in hand with his cape and crown locked in, giving him a commanding look that blends Masters of the Universe with Transformers in Origins scale form.

Here we get a great look at how versatile this figure is when posed in action. The wing pieces double up as axes, and you can see him swinging one high in the air while the other is braced in hand for battle. With the cape draped across his shoulders, he takes on a bold stance ready to strike. In another setup, the wings are flipped into their alternate mode, turning into laser blasters that he can aim forward, all while crowned and fully geared up. The diorama shots really show off how the Starscream armor gives Scare Glow a whole new range of display options.

Starscream Armor Scareglow

In the mini comic that comes with the first wave of MOTU Transformers, Starscream Armor Scareglow bursts onto the page with a striking fusion of Transformers tech and MOTU menace, sporting Starscream’s angular red, yellow, and grey jet armor reimagined over Scareglow’s eerie, skeletal frame. The torso carries the classic cockpit chest and wing-mounted detailing, while his limbs blend mechanical plating with bone-like structure, glowing in a spectral yellow hue. Purple ghostly energy swirls around him, hinting at Scareglow’s supernatural origins, and his skull head sits menacingly within the armored frame, completing this mash-up of cybernetic power and undead terror and a design that feels tailor-made for a potential Wave 2 MOTU Transformers crossover release.
