New Eternia Mer-Man MOTU Masterverse Box & Art Reveal

Roy Juarez continues the Masterverse box and art reveals for Masterverse Wave 14 and today the spotlight is on New Eternia Mer-Man. Over the last couple days, the talented MOTU illustrator has revealed the Masters of the Universe Revolution Man Of War and Sorceress Teela box and art and they look stunning! Today we see New Eternia Mer-Man in all of his glory! Although this is our 3rd Mer-Man in the Masterverse line, he has been given New Eternia treatment, which pays homage to his classic styling. Roy announced on his Instagram page, “MER-MAN | OCEAN WARLORD! With New Eternia shattered into thousands of islands, Mer-Man terrorizes everyone foolish enough to travel the oceans in search of Castle Grayskull.”

July 13, 2024: Official Box and Art Reveal

Roy Juarez revealed the amazing digital art and official box for the New Eternia Mer-Man Masterverse figure, featuring the amazing artowrk from @simoneckert.art. He said in his Instagram post, “A closer look at the artwork and packaging for the upcoming Masterverse New Eternia Mer-Man, the Ocean Warlord.”

In this scene, we can see Man-E-Faces about to toss Beast Man into the water where Mer-Man lurks! It appears that Mer-Man is hoping to thwart Man-E-Faces efforts as he looks on with his sea creatures beside him.

Up close we can see all of the details that are poured into the amazing illustrations and art, which bring Mer-Man to life!

Official Box Images

New Eternia Mer-Man looks awesome packed in his box with the right side art panels wrapping around to the front of the box to frame the figure. We can see his classic corncob sword packed to his left in the nice window display.

Here is how the digital art looks on the side panel and we can also see the figure at the forefront with a digital art scene of an Octopus behind him.

July 8, 2024: Mer-Man Box Art Reveal Video Tease

Mer-Man looks so much better than his first official image, which is his painted test shot! The blacks on the armor are.now a dark bronze/green color and it looks like the paint apps are different from the produced figure and the figure that they used for the box shots.

the side art panels are awesome as we see a scene where Man-E-Faces is tossing beast man asunder as Mer-Man is looking on from under the sea (now you can’t get that song out of our head…sorry / not sorry!). The other art panel shows Mer-Man on land and he looks something fierce!

New Eternia Mer-Man Preorder

Going back to the roots of the New Eternia line, we see a version of Mer-Man that pays homage to his early concept sketches. Mer-Man was part of the first series of Masters of the Universe action figures released by Mattel in 1981-1982. The character was conceived as Skeletor’s most prominent henchman after Beast Man. Although a version of this style of Mer-Man was developed and produced in the Power Con 2020 exclusive Lords of Power 5-Pack, we finally get to see the New Eternia version, making this the third Mer-Man figure in the Masterverse line.

This version of Mer-Man deviates from the concept sketch with the only piece resembling the early illustration is the loin cloth. He comes with two open hands that can clutch his corncob spear and his corncob sword, which resembles a Rapier type blade in its shape.
