Repulsives Reptiles Snake Men Soldiers MOTU Weapons Pack
A fan fiction/tribute to Bruce Timm, Axel Gimenez, and Mattel’s Masters of the Universe ©️ 2024, Yerco and Miguel Bayón embarked on a journey to honor the amazing world of MOTU by designing and creating an absolutely stunning tribute called the Repulsives Reptiles Snake Men Soldiers MOTU Weapons Pack. Based on the drawings of Bruce Timm in the minicomic “King of the Snake Men King Hiss” along with the new Snake Men (Fangor, Lady Slither) illustrated by Axel Gimenez. The illustration and coloring of this weapons pack were done by the great @miguelbayonart @motucomic ??, the weapons were crafted by @yerco_ub ?? with observations from @zoooorito, you Yerco thanks immensely for his time and dedication. Illustrated in Puerto Rico and designed in Chile, this is an article of free production and reproduction, by Fans for Fans. As Yerco said so eloquently, “I think the most beautiful thing about this is that it is a free project for the community, especially in a time when each figure is costing us more and more. It’s wonderful to rescue elements from the minicomics, which still have so much potential to offer.”
Weapons Pack Inspiration
The inspiration for this weapons pack came from the vintage Masters of the Universe mini comic featuring several Snake Men. As Bayon explains, “Well, it all started when I read the mini comic King of the Snake Men and noticed that there was a group of snakes that I had never seen used, that was when I decided to remake them and give them names, from there everything happened organically and YERCO contacted me to do a collaboration on the weapons.”

Fang-Or, one of Axel Gimenez’s original Snake Men concepts is pictured below and the test shots for the weapons were photographed with the Masters of the Universe Origins Fang-Or.

Snake Men
Miguel Bayón also illustrated the four Snake Men and gave them names! It is so amazing to see updated illustrations and renders for characters that are 40 years old. He explains how each character received thier name below.

Plat-I-Rhing
As Miguel Bayón explains, “Plat-I-Rhing, which comes from the scientific name (Phrynosoma platyrhinos), a desert chameleon reptile.”

SOBEKK
As Miguel Bayón explains, “The next one is SOBEKK, a name I chose after one of the Egyptian gods. He was the lord of the waters and wetlands, but at the same time, he was a protective god because the Egyptians observed that he was a fierce defender of his eggs and offspring, which he protected once they hatched by introducing them into his jaws.”

Kommo-DOOM
As Miguel Bayón explains, “Third is Kommo-DOOM, which comes from the Komodo dragon and the word ‘doom’ in English, which means fate or condemn.”

MOLOCH
As Miguel Bayón explains, “And the last one is MOLOCH, named after the Thorny Devil, Moloch or Moloch horridus, a species of lizard from the Agamidae family that inhabits desert areas.””

Behind the Scenes Artwork
A very cool backstory accompanies the artwork. In the depths of the snakemen’s catacombs, Eldor, who until a few months ago was captured and tortured by Vypor, is freed by Hero. Suddenly, a snakeman appears and is about to stab Eldor in the back with his sword. Eldor looks at the snakeman in terror, who glares back with total rage and savagery. While they escape, Hero notices a group of snakemen descending the stairs and casts a spell to protect Eldor, unaware that Eldor is already in imminent danger. At the top, Fangor’s pet can be seen strangling a demon. The surroundings are eerie, and a thick toxic mist crawls along the floor, reaching up to their heels and calves.

Fangor is in his laboratory, building a new set of weapons for the Snake Men. The laboratory is dark and damp, with an oppressive atmosphere. In the background, Moaty can be seen, having slipped through the entrance gate, watching curiously. From inside the laboratory, a toxic smoke emerges, adding an air of danger. Fangor is completely focused on his work, surrounded by weaponry. On the table, there are four prominent weapons: a scepter, a blade, a sword, and a rifle. With his claws firmly gripping a wrench, Fangor places the final components on a submachine gun, fine-tuning every detail with precision. Fangor’s dedication and skill are evident in every movement as he works tirelessly to arm the Snake Men with the most lethal equipment possible.

Here is a behund the scenes video showing how the art came to life.
Box and Insert
The set is outstanding and a the art captures the imagination of the story behind this one of a kind set.
Pictured below is the fully rendered box and it looks remarkable! We can see Fang-Or hard at work making weapons for Lady Slither’s Snake Men army!

The box also opens up to reveal the weapons pack inside and the full rendered Snake Men from the pen of Miguel Bayón on the inside flap.

Weapons Pack
The Repulsives Reptiles Snake Men Soldiers MOTU Weapons Pack pays tribute to the same name the King Hiss referred to his Snake Men in the comic from which the weapons were homaged.

While the weapons themselves do not have names, they are highly detailed and and give an updated look and feel to weapons that were illustrated in the mini comic.

The scepter staff looks amazing as Fang-Or holds it above his head!

The machine gun looks like it was cast straight out of the comic. The weapon has a Thompson submachine gun feel to it.

The sword is absolutely stunning! The hand has a nice wrap to it and the crossguard curves up giving it a very unique shape.

There is also a smaller gun that is packed in the set for smaller jobs.

The daggers are a nice touch and the blade is serrated giving it a cool design.

The last weapon looks like a baton with a handle that looks like it can do some serious damage.

Lady Slither’s Weapons Inspection
Lady Slither has approved the weapons designed by Fangor, and now it’s time to hand them over to the soldiers.

Everything flows smoothly within Lady Slither’s Lair. Eldor has been a prisoner in the catacombs for three months, and despite being terrorized by Vypor, he hasn’t given any relevant information.

A lot of time has passed, and many things have happened while developing this set of weapons. It has been a journey that allowed me to meet many kind people. I feel so many emotions right now that I couldn’t possibly express them all in a simple post. First of all, I want to thank the talented @motucomic for believing in the project and supporting its free release. There were many audio messages, discussions, and sketches back and forth to reach the final result. I also want to thank @zoooorito for their intellectual support and creative correction, being one of the kings of the snakemen. Additionally, I want to thank everyone who has supported with a like, a comment, or by sharing this project. We made this for all MOTU fans. Finally, to everyone who has supported this project directly or indirectly, @multifanchile@kenzos__creations@toyhabitswebsite@mreternia@megajayretro@elcaballerodelanoche555.
