Skeletor Bust and Light Up Havoc Staff MOTU Mattel Brick Shop First Look

Huge thanks to @in_demand_toys (and masterversal_toyhunter for the heads up) for giving us our first look at two new Mattel Brick Shop Masters of the Universe sets that are sure to catch the eye of any MOTU collector who’s been following this brick-built line. First up is the Skeletor Bust, which appears to be a brand new addition to the lineup and gives the Lord of Destruction the same display-piece treatment we’ve seen applied to other iconic characters in the Brick Shop range, and from what we can see in the images, the build captures that menacing hooded skull in a way that should look fantastic on a shelf next to the rest of your Eternia collection. Then there’s the Light Up Havoc Staff, which has actually been available for preorder on Big Bad Toy Store since February 2026 but until now we haven’t had a proper visual to go along with the listing, so it’s great to finally get eyes on what this one actually looks like in built form. The light-up feature is an interesting touch that could make this a really fun companion piece to the bust or a standalone display item on its own, and I love how Mattel keeps finding ways to expand the Brick Shop line beyond just figures and into these kinds of creative display builds that give collectors something a little different. We’ll keep an eye out for official details on pricing and availability for the Skeletor Bust, and if you’ve been on the fence about that Havoc Staff preorder, at least now you know what you’re getting into.

Skeletor Bust

The Skeletor Bust building set features a 503-piece brick-built bust with purple and light blue armor plating, a round red chest jewel, and a yellow skull face framed by a deep purple hood. Two alternate skull faces sit beside the bust, offering different expressions and color options for display.

A graphic overlay with a lightbulb icon and downward arrow highlights the light-up feature built into the skull face, where the red eyes glow from within the brick-built hood. The layered purple armor across the shoulders and chest has some nice depth to it, with fan-shaped plate sections flanking each side and that chunky red chest jewel anchoring the center.

The Skeletor Bust gets a closer solo shot here, and the brick-built hood framing that yellow skull face is really well done. Layered purple plates make up the shoulder armor with fan-shaped sections fanning out on each side, while the light blue chest armor tapers down to a narrow base on a metallic stand. The articulated jaw is a nice addition for display!

Two alternate brick-built skull faces flank the main bust, one in green-yellow with angular eye sockets and one in a bone tone with a wider grin and more exposed teeth. This first look at the Skeletor Bust from the Mattel MOTU Brick Shop line shows off all three swappable face options together, and the variety between them is a smart touch for display.

Light Up Havoc Staff

The Light Up Havoc Staff is a brick-built recreation of Skeletor’s iconic weapon, with the ram skull rendered in layered grey and purple bricks and a green element embedded in the forehead. The curling horns are constructed from alternating purple and dark purple segments that taper nicely toward the tips, and the staff shaft extends below in a clean build.
