“By this axe, I rule!” Well, maybe not an axe this time, but an Ancient Flaming Sword and a pair of writhing eye flames are just as menacing in the hands of one of sword and sorcery’s most iconic villains. We are super excited to bring you this preorder announcement for the Immortal Champions Thulsa Doom Undead Sorcerer action figure, now available for preorder at our affiliate partner BigBadToyStore for $29.99 with an expected ship date in the 1st Quarter of 2027. Thulsa Doom is one of those deep cut characters that so many of us who grew up loving the Conan and Kull universes have been waiting to see get the proper action figure treatment, and this one looks incredible. Standing at 5.5 inches, the figure blends modern articulation with that classic action figure aesthetic we all love, and the painterly, maximalist 80’s-style packaging is giving me all the nostalgic vibes. I just love that skull-faced sorcerer look, and those writhing eye flame accessories? How amazing is that?! The Immortal Champions line really feels like it’s tapping into something special for fans of vintage fantasy properties, and seeing Thulsa Doom in this scale with this kind of style is so much fun. So let’s take a look at the Immortal Champions Thulsa Doom Undead Sorcerer! Currently up on BBTS for preorder!

Immortal Champions Thulsa Doom- Undead Sorcerer Action Figure
Armed with the Ancient Flaming Sword, Thulsa Doom’s red wrist gauntlets feature small gold rivets that echo the ornamental details running throughout the costume, tying the whole look together nicely. The flowing fabric loincloth splits at the front to reveal a brown leather-like tunic underneath, and his brown boots have a clean, simple sculpt that keeps the focus on all that rich crimson above.

Thulsa Doom looks absolutely sinister here, clad in a deep crimson cape and tunic layered over dark brown skin, with a series of gold medallions chained across his chest bearing arcane symbols. The Ancient Flaming Sword is a real showpiece, with a translucent red blade sculpted to look like jagged, licking flames rising from a gold hilt.

You can see how the skull face really sells the whole undead sorcerer concept, with bright red eye flames flickering up from the sockets and over the brow, contrasting sharply against the white bone. His belt is loaded with detail too, featuring a central disc flanked by small sculpted skulls, all finished in a warm antiqued gold that ties into the medallions above.

Here’s a closer look at the high collar behind Thulsa Doom’s skull, which rises into two sharp, angular points that frame the head almost like a dark throne. His bony white hands have individually sculpted fingers with just enough texture to suggest aged, skeletal joints, and they grip the sword’s curved gold crossguard with a satisfying fit.

Something I appreciate here is the pair of writhing eye flames, which sit as separate translucent red accessories that plug into the skull’s sockets, adding a supernatural glow that really pops against the bone white. The cape has a genuine fabric texture to it, draping with a natural weight and flow that softens the hard plastic sculpt of the armor and medallions around it.

I noticed that the gold chain necklace actually features three distinct medallion designs, each bearing a different arcane symbol, and the way they layer over the draped crimson sash creates a really satisfying sense of depth across the chest. At the 5.5-inch scale, the sculpt packs in a surprising amount of detail on those red gauntlets, where tiny triangular studs run along the edges alongside the gold rivets.

Here’s a full spread of everything Thulsa Doom comes with, and it’s cool to see the complete accessory layout alongside the figure itself. The Ancient Flaming Sword’s blade transitions from a deep brown at the base into that translucent red, and the two eye flame pieces are sculpted with a wispy, organic shape that should look great once plugged into those empty sockets.

Here’s a closer look at the back of the figure, where the crimson sash crosses between the shoulder blades in a clean X pattern before wrapping up into that towering collar. The rear of the skull has fine crack-line detailing etched into the bone white surface, a subtle touch you wouldn’t catch from the front.
