Skell-Ra MOTU Origins ThunderCats In-Hand Images

By the Power of Grayskull and the Ancient Spirits of Evil, Mattel has conjured a crossover that’s bound to electrify fans of both Masters of the Universe and ThunderCats. Thanks to in-hand images from Mr. Home Arcade, we get an up-close look at the deluxe Skell-Ra MOTU Origins figure that masterfully blends the aesthetics of both universes! Skell-Ra—the Ever-Living Evil of Eternia—a fusion of Skeletor and Mumm-Ra brings together the most malevolent forces from two iconic ’80s franchises. The pics are stunning and articulation and comes packed with a reversible red-to-purple cape, swappable heads and armor pieces, and the double-ended Sword of Plun-Darr. The figure also includes character cards for both Skeletor and Mumm-Ra, which combine to form a unique narrative backdrop. Skell-Ra features deluxe packaging that is stunning as you can see he is packed in his Skeletor form with the ability to change him into Mumm-Ra! The back of the box illustration shows how Skeletor transforms into Skell-Ra in an iconic scene!

The side views of the packaging showcase additional portraits of both Mumm-Ra and Skeletor

The figure comes with two collectible cards for both Skeletor and Mumm-Ra, which can be combined to form a cohesive image of Skell-Ra!

The Ancient Spirits of Evil granted the demon-priest Mumm-Ra the power to rule Third Earth. After Mumm-Ra’s defeat at the hands of the ThunderCats, the Ancient Spirits of Evil searched across the universe for a new vessel who would trade power for servitude.

On Third Eternia, Skeletor discovered a new source of power: The Black Pyramids. Within, the Ancient Spirits of Evil offered him unlimited strength; enough to take the Power of Grayskull. In return, he would do their bidding as he ruled the universe.

In his Mumm-Ra-inspired form, the figure features a striking blue muscular body and a fierce, snarling face with sharp white teeth and glowing red eyes. His elaborate headpiece includes gold and purple elements with two protruding snakes and red tendrils flowing outward. The chest displays the iconic red emblem. Here is what the figure looks like stripped down to the buck and they did a great job with the blue color for both bodies.

Skeletor retains his yellow skull face, and menacing expression, all hallmarks of his classic Masters of the Universe design. This version, however, introduces some unique additions: he wears a dark, torn cape with a high collar and the chest harness has the two headed snake emblem. The back of the cape is red, which is how it shows when the figure is transformed into Mumm-Ra.

From the side you can get a better view of the armor and how horns curly around his head.

The Skell-Ra figure uses the larger buck from the MOTU Origins TMNT line, which gives the figure a taller stature!
