The Sleepwalkers are not undead but living soldiers trapped in a chemically induced somnambulistic state through the use of Doctor Caligari’s experimental Xeiss gas. Equipped with respirators that constantly regulate their intake of the gas, these troopers feel no pain and follow orders without hesitation while operating in a dream-like condition. The Xeiss gas also powers their specialized energy-based weaponry, which is believed to manipulate electrical properties originally intended for neurological research before being weaponized. Operating under the control of the Forgotten King, the Sleepwalkers represent a more disturbing faction because they are still alive, stripped of free will, and turned into tools of war through scientific horror rather than necromancy.
