Check out our in depth look at our Storm Shadow #35 Gi Joe Classified Series review with tons of pics and vintage figure comparison!
The third time’s the charm (if you count the version from the Snake Eyes Origins movie) as this is Habro’s latest incarnation of Storm Shadow and the one that many feel should have been released first. Hasbro has made an obvious pivot in the design direction for the Classified Series as they are leaning into the vintage look and feel of pretty much all of the characters moving forward. This version of Storm Shadow, #35 in the line up, is a must have for any Classified Series collector! With his classic, iconic, white Gi (aka ghee) with his bare arms and weapons pack out, the designers at Hasbro hit another home run with this figure, making the latest figures of Spirit and the Croc Master and Fiona must haves in the collection!

He comes with a hood for different ways to display him! Which one will you choose?

Box Art
Joining some of the best artists in comics and graphic design in Hasbro’s artist partnership program, Yuko Shimizu adds a unique style to the Storm Shadow package where you can see him in his classic white uniform in various action poses. The yellow and red flame background sets the illustration of Storm Shadow off nicely given his gee is all white!

Head Sculpt
Storm Shadow a minimalistic head sculpt with a couple defining lines that make up is mask. The eyes are really where you see the character of the figure shine through and the Classified series is known for this aspect!

He also comes with a hood so you have some different display options.

Chest and Back
The classic red cobra symbol stands out against his bright white gee and you can see his classic black strap across his chest that has a some very nice leather detailing to it! Setting off the strap are two throwing stars and a silver buckle.

Arms and Shoulders
Right Side
Storm Shadow’s right arm features a gauntlet with his pinky and ring fingers exposed in his hand sculpt. On the inside of the gauntlet it features a light blue and gray paint app, which adds a splash of much needed color. His shirt under his gee features a scalloped pattern over his shoulder to mimic real clothing.

Left Side
His left arm features the same gauntlet but his hand sculpt is painted all white to simulate a glove.

Waist
His belt on his waist is a separate piece and it features a simple design although the layered look gives him some depth and dimension.

Legs
The pant design on his legs appears to have a flowing clothing sculpt and they did a great job making it look like pants are tucked into his boots. The same gray and blue paint from his gauntlets are repeated on his boots, which ties the two together nicely!

Weapons and Accessories
Storm Shadow comes packed with Hood, Bow, Arrow, a Quiver with 2 sheathes, a Belt Tassel, and 2 Swords.

Long Sword
The sword features a snake on a black hilt with a silver paint app to the sword!

Short Sword
The sword features a snake on a black hilt with a silver paint app to the sword!

Quiver
The quiver can stow his long and short swords and feature an array of sculpted arrows that are not removable. They have red accents on the fletching that ties in the Arashikage symbol on the back.

Compound Bow
The bow detail is nice and it features a compound structure with a red handle.

Arrow
He comes with one arrow with red paint app applied to the fletching and you can see he can old the arrow in his fist and it nests nicely on the rest mount.

Belt Tassel
Adding an additional layer to his belt design is tassel that can place on the nub on the back of his belt.

Vintage Comparison
This version of Storm Shadow really leans into the classic nature of his vintage design.

The throwing stars that are sculpted on to his vintage figure have been moved to the strap that goes across his chest in the Classified Series version. The weapons pack out for both figures is a very similar although the the Classified Series version does not come with a set of nunchakus. You can also see that the belt tassel has been moved to the rear (pun intended) of the figure whereas the vintage figure has his tassel sculpted on the left side of his hip.

What is unchanged in the beautiful red Cobra symbol adoring the chests of the both figures.

The legs also are very similar in their look and feel although the Classified Series figure needed to add some paint app due to the scale of the figure to give it some more character!
