Who ya gonna call?! Huge thanks to @harrymooredesign for posting these images giving us a full look at the packaging design for Hasbro’s Kenner Classics The Real Ghostbusters Ecto-Glow Ghosts two-pack featuring Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and Slimer! Boy are we thrilled to see this one come together. The Ecto-Glow line was always one of the coolest sub-lines in the original Kenner run, and seeing Hasbro bring it back under the Kenner Classics banner with that gorgeous retro card art is just so much fun. I always loved the glow-in-the-dark gimmick as a kid, and pairing these two iconic ghosts together in one pack is really cool. Stay Puft and Slimer are arguably the two most recognizable spooks in the entire franchise, so getting them both in that classic Ecto-Glow deco is super exciting. I love how you can see the thought and care that went into the packaging design here, right down to the font choices and layout that call back to the original Kenner aesthetic. So let’s take a look at The Real Ghostbusters Kenner Classics Ecto-Glow Ghosts two-pack full packaging reveal!
The packaging uses a clean white and deep purple color scheme, with the two figures packed side by side behind a clear plastic window. Slimer and Stay Puft Marshmallow Man are both cast in glow-in-the-dark plastic, and their food accessories, a pizza and a hot dog, sit alongside them in the tray.
The side panel features illustrated character portraits for Ecto Glow Stay Puft and Slimer, each framed in circular vignettes with a warm yellow glow behind them. I like the way the artwork captures the animated series style, with Slimer’s tongue and Stay Puft’s pink neckerchief adding nice pops of color against the purple box trim.
The back of the box features split photos of each figure showing their standard look alongside their glow-in-the-dark effect, with Stay Puft in his sailor outfit and Slimer in his open-mouthed sculpt both glowing a bright green. Character bios for Stay Puft and Slimer run down the right side, paired with illustrated card art that nails the vintage animated series aesthetic.
Slimer’s character art captures his classic animated series look, with a wide-open mouth, pink tongue lolling out to the side, and those signature small orange eyes set close together. His body is finished in a bright lime green with subtle sheen highlights sculpted into the blobby form, and his stubby little arms end in defined fingers.
The yellow glow radiating behind Slimer here is a nice packaging art touch, giving the illustration a real sense of ectoplasmic energy that ties into the Ecto-Glow theme. His teeth are rendered in a warm orange-yellow gradient, and the deep purple inside his mouth adds a solid contrast against all that green and gold.
More beautiful artwork by @harrymooredesign. Stay Puft Marshmallow Man’s character art gives him that cheerful, rounded face from the animated series, complete with his blue and silver sailor collar and pink neckerchief tied in a neat bow. The warm yellow glow effect behind him matches the treatment used on Slimer’s portrait, keeping the packaging art style consistent across both characters.
This image breaks down the typography and graphic design elements created for the Ecto-Glow Heroes sub-line packaging. The main logo uses bold yellow lettering with slightly rounded corners and an outer glow effect rendered in vector, while a starburst callout badge mirrors the vintage Kenner packaging style with its slightly imperfect alignment.

The box features a clean white design with purple trim along the bottom edge, housing both Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man behind a clear plastic window. Slimer’s glow-in-the-dark plastic is paired with his signature green eyes and open mouth, while Stay Puft sports his blue sailor collar and pink neckerchief, both figures cast in that pale yellowish-green glow plastic. Hopefully when we get to the see the rest of the packaging, we will see some incredible artwork by harrymooredesign!
