ThunderCats Super7 Vintage Style 5.5″ Wave 1 In Hand Images

ThunderCats are on the move, ThunderCats are loose with these new Super7 5.5″ vintage MOTU style Wave 1 ThunderCats! This new line of vintage style 5.5″ ThunderCats starts out with Wave 1 consisting of Lion-O, Mumm-Ra and Jackalman! Funko had tried this several years back with their lack luster Savage World line, which were cool but suffered in quality control as many of us ended up with Panthro’s with broken legs right out of the package! These are much better quality and are the start of a very cool line of vintage style ThunderCats figures! ThunderCats is one of my favorite toy lines, so I highly recommend these! At $30 a piece, they are decently priced for Super7 standards. Huge thanks to the Baroness of Toys for sending us photos of these figures! So without further ado, let’s check out these ThunderCats Super7 Vintage Style 5.5″ Wave 1 In Hand Images!
Close ups in their plastic prison, now let’s break them out of here and see what they look like in person!
I love how this first wave photographs together! The Baroness of Toys does a great job taking photos and look at all those wonderful toys in the background!
These figures really give up a nostalgic feeling. The only complaint I have is that they are made of a fairly harder feeling plastic, and I did have to heat their hands in order for them to hold their weapons. But 30 seconds under the hair dryer did the trick and they gripped their weapons just fine!
Lion-O
Lion-O is the best one of the Wave and comes with his claw shield and Sword of Omens! The packaging has a very classic feel to it, as it kind of gives off MOTU vibes with the card back red lightning strike, shape of the blister bubble and rear cross sell art. I love that huge ThunderCats logo on the front and back!
Taking a closer look at the Lion-O figure, you can see his classic 5.5″ figure styling and he has a very animated look to his face sculpt. His hair has simplistic detailing which adds to the animated look. His claw shield is simplified as well. He has a nice ThunderCats logo on his belt and in the eye of Thundera in the Sword of Omens!
Ok folks, it’s comparison time! Here we can see a great comparison that the Baroness of Toys sent us of the Super7 Deluxe Lion-O and the new vintage style 5.5″ Lion-O. As you can see, the new vintage style Lion-O has a darker skin tone as the deluxe version was a bit too pale. Now for $5 more, as the Deluxe costs $35, you can see that the price point is well worth it. It depends on what style action figure you are looking for. If vintage He-Man style action figures are your jam, then you will really like this new Vintage Style 5.5″ Lion-O as he does not disappoint.
Mumm-Ra
Wave 1 wouldn’t be complete without the main bad guy, so we of course get Mumm-Ra! He comes with his double sided sword!
Taking a closer look at the Mumm-Ra figure, you can see his classic 5.5″ figure styling and he has a very animated look to his face sculpt. His head dress is a dark blue with flowing mummy wraps coming off the sides. He has his evil mutant logo on his chest and he is dressed with a soft goods cape. The front side of the cape is black and the back side is red. It hangs with a loop around his neck with is hidden by his mummy wraps.

Jackalman
Wave 1 rounds out with the leader of the Evil Mutants, Jackalman. He comes with his axe.
Here you can see the classic styling of Jackalman. I love his bright yellow left wrist bracer, and his shoulder pauldron. He looks like he stepped right out of the cartoon!

Jackalman
