Transformers Takara Tokyo Toy Show 2026 Booth Images
The Tokyo Toy Show 2026 is underway, and Takara has brought plenty of Transformers reveals to the show floor, giving us our first look at several upcoming releases across multiple lines. Huge thanks to the TFW2005 Boards for sharing the booth photos, because there is quite a bit packed into this display. Among the reveals are the Dramatic Capture Series Dinobot Island Part 1 and Part 2, along with the New Legends NL-08 Delta Magnus Primal Vanguard Set, which brings together Delta Magnus, Agent Arcee, and Powerdrive. We also get a look at the T-SPARK Transformers Evangelion Prime Unit-02, continuing the Transformers and Evangelion collaboration, as well as New Legends ML-07 Earthspark Soundwave and NL-08 Earthspark Cosmos. There is a lot here that caught my attention, but make sure you look closely at the bottom right of the display, where Takara has also tucked in Missing Link Soundwave D0-1 and D-02. I am especially excited to get a better look at those because Soundwave feels like such a natural fit for the Missing Link concept, which takes the familiar appearance of the original G1 toys and revisits them with updated engineering and articulation. Between the Dinobots, Delta Magnus, Earthspark characters, the Evangelion crossover, and now Missing Link Soundwave, Takara certainly gave Transformers collectors a lot to pore over at Tokyo Toy Show, and hopefully we’ll learn more about these releases as additional information comes out of the event. We’ll keep an eye on any additional reveals and details as the show continues, so stay tuned for more as it develops.

The Dramatic Capture Series Dinobot Island Part 1 and Part 2 sets dominate the upper shelf, with Grimlock, Slag, and Snarl all in their dinosaur modes alongside a flame blast effect piece attached to Grimlock’s mouth. On the bottom shelf, two versions of Missing Link Soundwave, D-01 and D-02, sit on the right side with their cassette accessories laid out in front of them.
The Dramatic Capture Series Dinobot Island sets bring together premium redecos of Studio Series Ratchet, Grimlock, Sludge, and Slag, with the Dinobots getting metallic silver, gold, and darker finishes that really bring out the mechanical sculpting. I especially like seeing Grimlock blasting a huge stream of fire from his open jaws, with additional orange blast effects and swords included to give the display some action. The two sets are scheduled for February 2027, with Part 1 priced at ¥17,050, or about $107 USD, and Part 2 at ¥19,800, or about $124 USD. Based on the display, Part 1 appears to pair Ratchet with Grimlock, while Part 2 likely includes Sludge and Slag.
Grimlock’s flame blast effect stretches dramatically from his open jaws, with the sculpted teeth along his dinosaur mode head providing a nice contrast against the silver and gold metallic finish. Sludge and Slag sit beside him in their dinosaur modes, their shared metallic deco tying the whole Dinobot roster together as a cohesive set.
The New Legends NL-08 Delta Magnus Primal Vanguard Set gives us a heavily reworked color scheme for the Studio Series Ultra Magnus mold, swapping the familiar white sections for black while keeping the deep blue, red, and silver across the massive robot mode. I really like how imposing this version looks, especially with that oversized blaster in hand and the smaller Agent Arcee perched up on his shoulder. Powerdrive, a red redeco of the Power of the Primes Beachcomber mold, joins the set and can be seen in both robot and vehicle modes. The three-pack is scheduled for February 2027, although pricing has not yet been announced.
The T-SPARK Transformers Evangelion Prime Unit-02 is shown here as a fully colored prototype, retooling and redecoing the previous Unit-01 release with that unmistakable red, orange, yellow, and black Unit-02 color scheme. I really like the Hot Rod-inspired head sculpt, which gives this version its own identity, while the huge twin-bladed weapon adds some serious presence to the robot mode. We also get a look at the truck mode alongside it, carrying the same bright red finish and Evangelion-inspired detailing. The figure is scheduled for release in March 2027.
The New Legends Earthspark Soundwave and Cosmos are shown as color samples, giving us a much better look at how these designs translate into figure form. Soundwave has a sharp, angular build with oversized shoulders, deep blue armor, silver legs, and red accents, while Cosmos goes in a completely different direction with that chunky, rounded body and bright green and yellow colors. I really like the contrast between these two, especially Cosmos with his compact proportions and oversized arms giving him a fun, animated look. Both figures are scheduled for release in January 2027.
