Tri-Klops MOTU Chronicles In-Hand Images and Review by Popheist
I love seeing the first wave of in-hand reviews start to hit, especially when they come from someone who genuinely appreciates the craft, and Zach Oat from Popheist was very lucky as he received MOTU Chronicles Tri-Klops directly from Mattel to review, giving us one of the earliest detailed looks at what this new movie-based line is bringing to the table. As Zach put it, “I have the power!” AND he does have are two of the first action figures based on the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie, and that alone is enough to get longtime fans like me genuinely excited. Alongside a Core He-Man aimed at the kids line, the collector-oriented Chronicles Tri-Klops represents a very clear signal that Mattel is building something layered here, with distinct entry points for different types of fans. The movie itself is already generating buzz for its fresh take on Eternia, and seeing that vision translate into physical form first hand at Toy Fair 2026 and now through the amazing photos Zach took is the icing on the cake! Tri-Klops in particular feels like a statement piece, anchoring the more premium side of the offering with sculpt and presentation that speaks directly to collectors who have been with this brand for decades. For those of us who live and breathe Masters of the Universe coverage, getting these early reviews from trusted voices like Zach helps frame what the Chronicles line is really about and where it might be headed next.

Packaging
As we’ve seen before, the front of the box displays the figure behind a large clear window, with the rifle positioned along the right interior side and alternate hands placed below. The illustrated Tri-Klops artwork runs down the left side of the front panel. The Masters of the Universe Chronicles branding appears at the top, with the character name printed along the lower front panel.

A side angle of the box highlights the illustrated character art panel running vertically along the packaging. The artwork features Tri-Klops facing off opposite He-Man, separated by a vertical power sword. The front window panel is partially visible, revealing the figure and rifle inside.

The back of the packaging features illustrated artwork of Tri-Klops standing on a rocky outcrop, with additional smaller images showing alternate action poses. A character bio appears in the upper left section, describing him as Skeletor’s right-hand man. The lower portion shows other figures in the wave, including He-Man and Man-At-Arms.

Figure details
Tri-Klops is posed in a wide, braced stance on the rocky base, aiming his long rifle with both hands, clearly showing off the pose-friendly engineering Zach highlighted. Standing approximately 6 1/2 inches tall with 24 points of articulation, this Chronicles release includes interchangeable closed fists and the long rifle accessory. As Zach points out, the double-jointed knees and elbows, rocker ankles, and two points of articulation in the neck allow for strong stability and precise head alignment while aiming, while the ball-jointed waist helps supplement movement where the ab crunch offers only limited range.

This close-up highlights the sculpted facial features beneath the green visor, with the red translucent lens centered in the headband. The tubing detail loops from the collar into the chest armor, and the layered shoulder plates frame the upper torso over the textured black body suit. As Zach pointed out, the three-eye feature does not appear to rotate or swap positions, at least on his sample, despite looking like it might be designed to. He also noted that while the eyes are translucent, there is no light-piping effect to make them glow, leaving some question as to whether that feature was intended or simply could not be implemented here.

With the armor off, a full front view highlights the layered design, including the scaled texture across the chest and abdomen and the gold belt with circular emblem at the center. The green thigh armor and black shin guards contrast with the brown armored arms and gold wrist cuffs. His visor sits low over the eyes, centered with a red circular detail.
