Angled views of the front of the packaging so you can see Tri-Klops trapped in his plastic prison from all sides!

You’ll notice that his armor is a lighter green that what appears in the Filmation cartoon but he looks great with his hair hanging down. Looks like he’ll be packed with the Rock Softener featured in the The Royal Cousin Filmation Episode but we are unsure as we have not seen the entire accessory.

Tri-Klops, Skeletor’s Evil Warrior that sees everything is coming to the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection! Tri-Klops was one of Skeletor’s bumbling idiot henchmen that appeared in 10 episodes of the Filmation cartoon. According to an anonymous source, Tri-Klops will be coming to the Cartoon Collection in 2024 and we will likely also see him revealed during MOTU March Madness 2024. While a source as revealed that he is coming to the line, we are speculating as to what episode they will be paying homage to and what Filmation accessory he will come packed with. Also, given that the Cartoon Collection is pairing a Heroic Warrior with an Evil Warrior in each wave, only time will tell which figure Tri-Klops will be paired with. So let’s take a look at Tri-Klops coming to the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection, what he might look like and what his potential episode specific accessory might be!

Here we can see how they based Tri-Klops on He-Man’s body, just like the action figure!

Vintage Toy Tri-Klops
Unlike Clawful, the vintage toy version of Tri-Klops was actually fairly close to the version that appeared on the Filmation Cartoon Series. Tri-Klops was depicked with 3 different shaped brown eyes on the cartoon series, one round, one square, and one rectangular. The toy version however had different color eyes, each slightly uniquely shaped, one green, one blue and one red eye. The blue eye was always my favorite for some reason! Below you can see what the 1984 Mattel version of tri-Klops looked like, which is actually from my personal collection, so his blue eye is upfront!

Filmation Tri-Klops Figure
Tri-Klops was released in 2017 by Super7, in it’s Club Grayskull line. This figure paid beautiful homage to his He-Man and Masters of the Universe Filmation appearance. He appeared just like he did in the cartoon series. By taking a look at this Super7 version, we have a very good idea of what the Tri-Klops MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection figure might look like.

This highly articulated 7″ scale figure had the same POA as the rest of the MOTU Classics line and featured his cartoon look! He came included with his sword and a blaster.

Tri-Klops’ Filmation Appearances
Tri-Klops appeared in 10 episodes of the Filmation cartoon series. He was mostly a background character with a few appearances were he and Evil Lyn team’s up to cause havoc. The episodes that Tri-Klops appeared on included:
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (Filmation)
- Diamond Ray of Disappearance
- The Time Corridor
- Quest for He-Man
- The Royal Cousin
- Ordeal in the Darklands
- Prince Adam No More
- The Great Books Mystery
- Betrayal of Stratos
- Three on a Dare
Here we can see Tri-Klops as he appeared in several different episodes of the FIlmation cartoon series.

The Royal Cousin Filmation Episode
In the Filmation episode, The Royal Cousin, Prince Adam’s cousin Jeremy pays a visit to the Royal Palace, and causes mischief all over Eternia! It’s up to He-Man and the rest of the Heroic Warriors to rescue the day. But not if Evil Lyn and Tri-Klops have something to say about it, as they cause their own mischief!
The episode opens at Snake Mountain where Skeletor is giving Evil Lyn and Tri-Klops a hard time for not recovering a globe from the Royal Palace and demands that they go back and retrieve it. Meanwhile back at the Royal Palace, Prince Adam and Man At Arms discuss how He-Man retried the globe. Back at the Throne Room, King Randor introduces Cousin Jeremy to Prince Adam and asks him to take charge of him and show him a good time while he is visiting.

While visiting Man At Arms lab, Jeremy finds Man At Arms latest invention, a rock softener. He then begins to cause havoc as he aims it at things in the lab.

Prince Adam and Man At Arms need to leave the Palace to test out the Rock Softener, so Prince Adam asks Ram Man to watch over Jeremy while they are gone. Jeremy wanders off and steals one of the Jet Sleds, and Ram Man goes after him! Suddenly Evil Lyn and Tri-Klops appear and see what’s happening.

Jeremy and Ram Man are out of control on the Jet Sled. It’s He-Man to the rescue! He Man gives Jeremy a talking to! Meanwhile, Evil Lyn and Tri-Klops watch on and see Man At Arms testing his Rock Softener! They realize to abandon their mission for Skeletor to find the missing globe and decide to cook up a scheme to steal the Rock Softener! In the wrong hands, could you imagine what evil deeds they can do with that thing! Forget Skeletor, they could use it on the walls of Castle Grayskull and then they can hold all the power!

Jeremy sneaks off to the street market, and while there Evil Lyn disguises herself, and tricks Jeremy into stealing the Rock Softener for them! Man At Arms discovers the Rock Softener missing and realizes that if it got into the hands of the Evil Warriors, they could use it to penetrate the walls of Castle Grayskull. Jeremy fesses up to what he did and admits that gave the Rock Softener to Evil Lyn in trade for a Boomerang. Our Heroic Warriors race off to Castle Grayskull to stop Evil Lyn and Tri-Klops. Jeremy races off behind them as well.

Meanwhile back at Castle Grayskull, Evil Lyn and Tri-Klops attempt to penetrate the walls of Castle Grayskull with the Rock Softener. While there one of the protective robots let out that that powerful globe they had been looking for is inside the Castle! The Sorceress inside the Castle Senses danger, as the globe begins to intensify and grow in size!

Outside the Castle, Evil Lyn and Tri-Klops aim the Rock Softener at the Castle, just as He-Man and Man At Arms arrive.

A struggle happens and the Rock Softener lands aiming on He-Man which renders he weak and helpless. Man At Arms is also stopped by Evil Lyn’s magic!

Just at that moment Jeremy arrives, and helps save He-Man and Man At Arms by using his boomerang to retrieve the Rock Softener and gives it to Man Art Arms.

He-Man is then freed from it’s rays and then captures Evil Lyn and Tri-Klops. The Sorceress summons He-Man inside the Castle to help stop the growing powerful globe.

He-Man uses all his strength to shrink the globe and kicks it into space, saving the day! Back at the Royal Palace, they rejoice as Jeremy admits he learned a good lesson from all of this and listen to the people who care about you, as they tell you things for your own good!

Rock Softener Accessory
Since Tri-Klops helped Evil Lyn use the Rock Softener to attack Castle Grayskull, we feel that the horn would be a great accessory to pack with Tri-Klops. The Rock Softener was a highly desired invention by the Evil Warriors as it gave them the power to penetrate Castle Grayskull.
