Domo arigato misuta Robotto, yes we have him IN HAND EARLY!!! The new Masterverse Roboto Masters of the Universe Revelation figure is now shipping out to lucky collectors, and we have him here for an early in hand review!
Leaked back in March by our friends at ROSMINEIROS, the new Masterverse Revelation Roboto design is a direct translation of the Netflix Revelation animated version. His design is different than the traditional version of Roboto than we are used to, with that much more animated look. I love the additional yellow accents they added to his wrists and inner Roboto workings in his chest. He still maintains a translucent chest to see his inner robot workings. Unfortunately, Mattel did not include moving gears on this version of Roboto as has been the case with previous releases of him, which to me was a missed feature.

Packaging
This package is typical of all the rest of the Masterverse figures, and dawns the Revelation logo at the bottom. Roboto is nicely displayed in his window packaging with the 2 red hot halves of the power sword next to his hands, as if he is ready to forge them back together, like he did in the animated series. Roboto includes 2 robotic arm attachments, and the aforementioned 2 red hot halves of the power sword. Check out the video below for a full 360 view of his packaging. We also get a look at the amazing artwork which we will look at in full detail below.

Pack Out
Here you can see Roboto with all his accessories, wheedling both halves of the molten hot power sword, and packed with 2 laser arm cannon accessories.

Roboto up close and personal
We first got to see Roboto on display at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, and now we get are our first official in package images of him and he looks amazing! He comes with interchangeable accessories for his hands, which include a canon, a regular hand, and a laser blaster hand. His is also packed with the 2 glowing molten hot halves of the power sword which in the Revelation cartoon, he melded back together. He can hold them to give him the look of forging the two halves of the Power Sword back together. His jaw is slightly hinged where you can move it up and down just like the original. His body is translucent where you can see the inside workings of his robotic body.

Head
Roboto’s head design is fairly simple and resembles his look on the Netflix Revelation cartoon. His head is made of the same silvery marbled plastic. He has a red visor that hinges on the sides and you can move it up and down . He has a blue slit where his “eyes would be” so his vision area. And then his “mouth” would be, its simply an indent in the shape of his face beneath the red visor. The back is very simple and just the rounded back his head. His neck has some horizontal lines for detail.

Chest and Back
His chest features a collider that is seen in the Revelation series and it consists of two yellow tubes and a silver fan in the middle of the chest. Clear plastic is used to show the inner working of Roboto on the front of the best and back but, unfortunately, there are no working gears of parts that move that is a significant design change from past Roboto figures. From the back, you can get a view of where the arms plug into the buck and in the center of the upper back is a lime green shape, which adds a new color to the figure. Surrounding the clear plastic is a matte silver upper chest plate and lower abdominal plates that spill over on to his waist piece.

Arms, Waist, Legs
Arms
Roboto’s left and right arms are symmetrical and feature a deep blue, red, and yellow paint app. The majority of the blue paint app is on the bicep and shoulder with a splash of blue on the upper forearm. His bracers are a nice red color with yellow accents where his forearm connects to his upper arm and on the hands.

Waist
The waist is a familiar maroon/plumb color that we have seen on previous versions of Roboto and the shape of the waist is similar to how the Masterverse He-Ro waist peice is designed. With a simple color change on the center of the waist piece, it gives you more depth to a rather simple part. The rear of Roboto has a nice silver paint app to it, similar to how the front of the silver paint on the chest spills over to his waist on the front.

Legs
The legs feature a silver and red motif with the an even distribution of color on the front and rear leg pieces. The upper thighs of Roboto are a simple design with a similar pattern of silver that is also seen on the chest. He comes with a knee armor design that is unique to the figure, featuring oversized knee armor plates that are sculpted in a way to give them some depth and dimension. As always, Eternian’s shop at the same shoe store and he has very plain looking shoes which is an interesting choice for a robot.

Weapons and Accessories
Roboto comes with two interchangeable laser cannon arm pieces plus the Power Swords that King Grayskull came with but in a fiery orange casted plastic.

Power Sword
We get to see life imitating art with the two halves of the Sword of Power cast in a fiery organge plastic to recreate the scene in the Revelation series where Roboto fuses both haves of the Power Sword together. The sword on top is meant to represent the heroic side and the sword on the bottom is meant to represent the evil side, each with their own style and flare!
Heroic Power Sword (top)
This sword is a beautiful piece that is intricately detailed. The sword itself has more of a standard shape and the cross guard is very fancy, with one side flaring up and the other side is flaring off the to the side. The hilt has more of a standard look to it and if you can imagine the two swords coming together, they would share this hilt.
Evil Power Sword (bottom)
This sword features a hooked sword design and a unique cross guard where one side flares up and the other flares down. The hilt is studded and the bottom of the handle appears to have a bone look to it, possibly to represent Skeletor.

Laser Cannons
Roboto comes packaged with 2 different style laser cannon arm attachments. One has a single wide open end that looks like he can blast his enemies with it. The other has two smaller more precise looking blaster ends to shot from. They are both burgandy and red with silver accents. The one with the larger end also has a nice yellow strip around it.
They attach on his right wrist only by pulling off his wrist and hand and it has a peg which these cannons peg into.

Classics Comparison
The overall design of Roboto from Classics to Masterverse is very similar but there is one major difference! The Classics design features gears that actually move when you twist Roboto at the waist. The head sculpts are very similar and both designs feature a red mask that is hinged that you can open and close. The waist and leg designs are also very similar to each other and feature a red leg design

The arm detail on the Classics design actually looks like a robot arm and features circuitry and tubes running up and down the arm. When you look at Roboto from the side, you can see the change in design of the helmet where the classics head sculpt has more of a flat design versus a more rounded design for the Masterverse figure.

The Revelation design redesigned Roboto’s arm attachments that we grew up with from the vintage to the Classics line. The Classics figure came with his traditional axe, claw, and double canon attachments while the Masterverse design came with two different types of laser canons. There is a simialrty between the two laser canon parts as they are both double barreled but the look uniquely different for each figure.
