A Turbodactyl Sharella MOTU Origins two-pack would make an amazing addition to a yet to be announced or released Powers of Grayskull line!
Axel Gimenez, renowned MOTU illustrator and artist, has shared a sketch of Turbodactyl and Sharella on his Instagram page this morning. You know we love to read a lot more into the posts he shares because we want all of his concepts to come to fruition in plastic. We are hoping, if we write about them enough, it will show Mattel that there is enough fan interest that they should go ahead and put the figures in their product roadmap. Turbodactyl and Sharella have been teased a number of time and with the pairing of the duo on the Terroar card art, they would make an amazing Powers of Grayskull two-pack.

Terroar Card Art Reveal and Teases
Hot off the heels of the Lord Gr’asp official card art reveal comes Terroar’s turn! The Shapeshifter with a Sinister Shriek is in the spotlight today as Roy Juarez and team revealed the official digital high rez images for Terroar! There are two teases that are front and center, which include Sharella and Turbodactyl, who have been previously teased on card art before. With the recent confirmation that Strobo and Plasmar will be joining the MOTU Origins line, the Powers of Grayskull figure lineup is looking mighty impressive! As a reminder, Terroar and Lord Gr’asp will be going up for preorder during the Walmart Collector Con March 2024 edition so don’t miss out!
Terroar Card Art
Roy Juarez and team are on ?, with an announcement on Instrgram that reads: “Terroar, the shapeshifter with a sinister shriek! The Snake Men’s alien ally renders his enemies helpless with a deafening sonic roar.”

The shriek is nicely illustrated as Terroar sends a soundwave to Sharella as she sets an arrow in her bow. Terroa’s card back art features him battling against Sharella riding Turbodactyl, with a very different Castle Grayskull in the background. It could be that this is taking place in pre-Eternia and the Castle was much newer and less battle worn back in those days. These teases of Sharella and Turbodactyl will be covered below.

You can see all of the details that were poured into Terror as well as Sharella and Turbodactyl!

Sharella, one of Axel Gimenez’s concept held over from the Masters of the Universe Classics line, is getting the royal treatment from none other than Mega Customx. Known for breathing life into previous concepts that Axel created, like the High Priest Pythonus, Mega Customx just revealed the next figure he is working on! In an Instagram post, he simply said “A new warrior is soon coming to reinforce the Heroes ranks! Do you know her name? ?” We do and her name is Sharella and the prototype digital render looks out off the charts amazing! In addition to still images, he also made a short 360 video, which you can see below! If Sharella looks anything like what we saw from his High Priest Pythonus, we are in for a real treat! Since the digital renders were published back on June 29, 2024, Mega Customx took some test shots of the 3D printed version of Sharella and she looks outstanding!
July 18, 2024: Final Painted Concept
Mega Customx has a painted version of Sharella and she looks absolutely stunning! He announced on his Instagram page, “Here is the painted version of Sharella!!! ❤️❤️❤️ When I resume work, I will make final modifications and produce a few to put on ebay. If I manage, I will put kits on the webshop too.”

From her concept and fan art, her hair color has ranged from brown to red and I love that he went with a brighter red to contrast the brown and gold tones in the figure. Sharing arms with Teela, she has full range of motion in her arms to draw the arrow back against the bow. Mega CustomX had the foresight to add a handle so she could grip the arrow, which makes a very cool way to display her.

The brown and gold tones on her outfit are the perfect colors and the browns help tone down the texturing of the top and waist pieces to give them a more natural look.

The face sculpt is amazing and I love how the green eyes set her hair and eyebrows off! She looks absolutely gorgeous with her shower curtain earrings.

July 8 , 2024: Sharella Test Shots
In an Instagram post, Mega Customx said “On vacation now but I took a few pics before I left to keep you (and I) entertained 😁
Here is some parts test for my version of Sharella! Hope you like it 👍❤️” We love it! It’s amazing to see a test shot and all of the finer details that have been poured into the figure.

Using the arms and legs of the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Teela, the figure can now stand on its own and the weapons and accessories that printed for the figure have a ton of detail!

For example, the upper and lower limbs of the bow have some sculpting details that make this a one of a kind piece. It also looks like the bow has two eyes so actual string can be tied to it to give it a more realistic look. The test shot of her top and outfit look amazing in these test shots and her face sculpt looks so natural and lifelike.

The quiver texturing and ornate details add that extra special something we typically don’t see with mass produced MOTU figures.

June 29, 2024: Sharella Digital Render
Since Sharella has been teased multiple times on Masters of the Universe Origins box art and card art, we do believe that she will be making an appearance in line! In fact, she is one of the original teases on Megator’s box art from the cancelled Powers of Grayskull line so it’s been a long time coming for her to make it figure form! Since Sharella has been teased on multiple box and card arts from the MOTU Origins line, including her latest appearances on the Eternia Box Art and Terroar’s MOTU Origins card art, we are hoping this seals the deal for Sharella to make it in the MOTU Origins line.

Sharella was originally conceived to part a heroic character in the mostly un-produced Powers of Grayskull line of 1987. She was seen on the box art for the Megator package running in the background. She was thought to have come with a Sword, bow, and quiver with arrows. Unfortunately for all of us, she was never produced as a figure in the 1987 Powers of Grayskull line but her illustration from the talented Axel Gimenez lives on as a concept that was meant for the Masters of the Universe Classics line!

Sharella MOTU Origins Concept
Shown below are digital renders of Sharella and at first glance, she looks unreal! The hair sculpt flows nicely over her forehead and the face sculpt looks spot on to what I envisioned a MOTU Origins Sharella to look like! Her outfit also looks like real cloths and I love the crisscross stitching on her top.

He also gave her loin cloth a more fur’like look to match the texturing on her top. She also comes with a pouch, a quiver that are attached to a belt. I am going to channel Saul Goodman as he stares at his secretary walking off in the distance and says “God you are killing me with that booty!”

Sharella will also come with a bow and arrow! The texturing and design of the bow is very intricate and we are sure it will look like real wood when it is finished!

We previously just saw Sharella spotted on the top of central tower on the Eternia Playset box. She can be seen with her bow and arrow pointed at poor Grizzlor who is climbing the ladder up the Central Tower.

Sharella is actually the Goddess. According to MOTU Lore and as written on the character bio for MOTU Classics, the Goddess’s real name is Sharella. But who really is Sharella and where did she come from?
According to the MOTU Classics Goddess Bio:
After the death of King Grayskull, the Power of the Universe was transferred from the Sword of He to the Council of Elders who hid it deep within his castle. Knowing the full sword was the key to channeling the power, they split it in two to prevent it from falling into the hands of evil. For five centuries they waited for a worthy heir to be born. During this time their spirit guide, the creature known as “The Goddess” of Etheria, trained secret heroic guardian to keep the two halves of the sword separated. Many of these brave warriors took the name “He-Man” in honor of the sword they protected giving birth to many different legends of the protector of Eternia.

Unfortunately, Sharella has never been an officially produced action figure, but if the Origins line makes a figure of her, they are going way deep into MOTU lore, and that is super exciting! Here we can see a custom by Hunter Knight. Created by using a Battleground Teela figure with a sculpted top and also re-sculpted lower arms. Her quiver was donated from a Young Justice Artemis action figure with new sculpted details and her bow is a cast from a Legolas figure with additional details, HKC did a magnificent job! So, this give you a little bit of an idea of what Sharella might look like in action figure form! So you could imagine Mattel using a Teela Origins buck as a basis for this figure.
Starring on the Wun-Dar comic card back art and in the packed in mini comic “Lost Legend”. In the mini comic, Wun-Dar also refers to Sharella as “The Goddess”. Sharella seems to be a pivitol character in the story. On the Comic Cardback art, we can see Sharella whelding a bow and arrow coming to Wun-Dar’s rescue, as he battles a storm of evil glowing skeleton warriors.

Turbodactyl
Turbodactyl is illustrated on both the card backs for Lord Gr’asp and Terroar. On Terroar’s card back, he has Sharella riding on him. And on Lord Gr’asp’s card back he is flying past Megator! It’s hard to make out who is riding him there, but it looks like it could be Strobo!

Often seen illustrated flying high over the towers of Preternia, Turbodactyl is the last of the bionic dinosaurs illustrated on the Camo Khan artwork. Turbodactyl, the flying dino was also originally released in 1987 by Mattel under the Powers of Grayskull subline.
It’s hard to make out who is illustrated on the back of Turbodactyl, but again, this would be an exciting character to add to the Origins line.
You can see images below of his vintage packaging and the actual production figure. He had jetpacks built in under his wings as part of his Bionic features. Turbodactyl too was packaged under the Powers of Grayskull subline and the packaging looked spectacular! It’s hard to tell who is illustrated on the package riding him, but again it could have been another exciting unproduced character.

Moss Man Package Tease
The front of the box features a stunning prehistoric forest scene with several figure and creature teases. The art wraps around the top flap, front and sides of the packaging. Here we can see the entire panel of images. On the side panel there is a figure tease of Gigantisaur, an unreleased creature from the cancelled 1988 Powers of Grayskull line. You can see Thunder Punch He-Man coming out of the dinosaur’s belly. We will discuss him further below. We also get another tease on the center panel which occurs on the top flap of the package. Flying toward that large Sequoia is none other than Turbodactyl, who was also originally released in 1987 also under the Powers of Grayskull subline! Also that is no ordinary Seqouia tree, if you look closely there is a face on that tree, and it is Sky Tree! Sky tree is a character from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and is the oldest tree on Eternia! In the left panel below, we can see Moss Man front and center, but who is the blue creature standing behind him? That is of course is Red Shadow, yes which I know he is blue, but that is his name. We discuss Red Shadow further below as well. Of course off in the distance is Eternia as this scene is taking place in no other than Preternia!!
