Vultak MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Exclusive In-Hand Images
Following up to the Cartoon Collection Mattel Creations exclusive Vultak carded images article, we now have IN-HAND images by the one and only Mr. Home Arcade! The way he obtained this figure is a funny story! Apparently this figure was sent to a collector by mistake as he said in the listing, “This figure was shipped to me in error when expecting Rio Blast (not included), and was not one I had intended for collection.” Vultak is an Evil Horde member, in charge of collecting specimens for Hordak’s Zoo. He is a vulture-like humanoid with a pointy beak-like nose, talons for feet, and wings on his back, wearing black Horde armor. He serves as Hordak’s zookeeper and has a small army of Zootron robots that carry out tasks for Vultak. Given that Vultak is sitting in a warehouse, we expect this figure to be released as the next Mattel Creations exclusive but, for now, while we wait, we can take a look at the in-hand pics of the Vultak MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection figure, the first single-carded Cartoon Collection Mattel Creations exclusive. Mr. Home Arcade‘s video review is up on his YouTube channel so check it out!

Vultak is the first single carded Cartoon Collection figure to be a Mattel Creations exclusive and, from the front of the card, you would not know it as he is packed on the retail release She-Ra and the Princess of Power packaging. The back of the card is a different story as we see a full illustration of She-Ra and Bow in an attack poses as Vultak hovers above them with his Zootron Robots doing his evil bidding. Underneath Vultak’s right arm, you can also see a jailed Kowl looking on.

Vultak appearance is a beady eyed, lavender skinned winged member of the Horde. His face sculpt is right out of the She-Ra and the Princess of Power Filmation series. He shares the same wings as the Turtles of Grayskull April figure, which is a great reuse of parts!

From the side, Vultak is pretty nondescript as there are no special markings on him as we can just see his removable wrist cuffs and collar.

You can strip the figure down to the bare essentials, which include his wrist cuffs, his collar, and wings.

He comes with a Zootron Robot that is painted in a metallic silver with orange paint accents.

Here is the Zootron Robot next to Vultak so you can get a sense of the scale.

Vultak SDCC 2024 Reveal
As part of the Mattel Creations part of the booth and labeled incorrectly as an Origins figure, Vultak looks like he’ll be a Mattel Creations Cartoon Collection exclusive. Since the MOTU team revealed the 40th Anniversary Sh-Ra and Hordak figures at their panel, having Vultak spoil the 40th Anniversary reveal of the Princess of Power line would not have been a great thing but given that the Cartoon Collection is also called the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection, they were right, as Obi-Wan Kenobi says, “from a certain point view.” He was was also not part of the original Masters of the Universe Origins line and he appeared in two Princess of Power episodes. Given that the Cartoon Collection is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of She-Ra and the Princess of Power, it makes sense that Vultak will be a Cartoon Collection figure. He also has another tell tale sign with his Zootron robot as a pack-in that comes from the Zoo Story episode.

Vultak has not only the ability to fly, but also has the skill to transform into a vampiric black shadow. While he can dish out punishment to his zoo subjects, he can’t take it himself, and tries to run away as a coward at any chance of trouble.

He feature red beadle eyes and pointy ears with large wings and a fur collar and cuffs. Here is a close up of the Zootron robot that features a gray paint app with orange, triangular eyes and an orange button on the top of robot.
