Previously on X-Men… boy are we thrilled to bring you this one! Preorders for the X-Men ’97 Marvel Legends Season 2 wave are live right now over at BigBadToyStore, Entertainment Earth, Hasbro Pulse, and Amazon! At $27.99 each with a January 2027 ship date, we’ve got plenty of time to plan out our shelves for this incredible lineup. So let’s take a look at the X-Men ’97 Marvel Legends Season 2 preorders! This wave is stacked, and I love the mix of heavy hitters and deep cut characters Hasbro is pulling from the show. Leading the charge we’ve got Cyclops with an alternate head and swap hands, and right alongside him is Jean Grey rocking psionic power effects and alternate hands. The Summers family reunion doesn’t stop there either, because Havok is here with plasma blast effects and swap hands. I always loved Alex and Scott together, and having them on the shelf side by side in their ’97 looks is going to be so much fun. Now here’s where things get really exciting for me. Death Gambit is joining the wave with kinetic energy card effects, and I can’t be more excited to see this darker take on Remy getting the Legends treatment. How cool is that?! And then we’ve got two characters that I just love seeing in this lineup. Polaris comes with electromagnetic effects pieces and alternate hands, and Vindicator, James Hudson himself, rounds out the wave with an alternate head and swap hands. Getting Alpha Flight representation in plastic is amazing, and it really shows how deep Season 2 is going with its roster. Six figures, all at $27.99, all shipping January 2027. Head over to BigBadToyStore, Entertainment Earth, Hasbro Pulse, or Amazon and lock those preorders in before they’re gone!

Where to Buy

You can preorder the figures at the following retailers below

Death Gambit (Season 2)

Death Gambit’s packaging card art features a menacing illustration of his Horseman of Death look, with ashen blue-grey skin, glowing red eyes, and a sweeping white hairstyle set against the same warm yellow and orange diagonal stripe design used across the wave. His kinetic energy card accessories are displayed alongside the figure in the blister, and you can see they have a gold and bronze color scheme that should pair well with the dark, muted tones of his trench coat.

Here’s a closer look at the back of Death Gambit’s packaging, which mirrors the same layout as Cyclops’ card with character portraits for the full Season 2 wave lined up on the left. The large photo of the figure on the right gives you a good sense of how the dark trench coat layers over his outfit, with those gold kinetic energy cards fanned out and ready to go.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Death Gambit (Season 2) Action Figure 10

Death Gambit’s trench coat has a wonderful sense of movement here, with the sculpted fabric billowing out behind him and the wide collar framing his ashen blue-grey skin and that icy metallic blue chest detail. I’m really digging the kinetic energy cards, which feature tiny skull designs in gold against a darker bronze backing, adding a great pop of warm color against his otherwise cool, muted palette.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Death Gambit (Season 2) Action Figure 03

Death Gambit’s headsculpt is sharp up close, with sunken, angular features and glowing red eyes that contrast against his cool grey skin tone. His swept-back white hair has a wild, spiky texture that adds a lot of personality to the sculpt, and those dark gloves have a nice leathery finish that pairs well with the heavy boots.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Death Gambit (Season 2) Action Figure 04

From the back, the trench coat’s center seam runs the full length down to a split at the lower hem, and the sculpted wrinkling along the sleeves gives the whole coat a convincing weight and drape. You can see how the dark brown pants and chunky, segmented boots peek out from beneath the coat’s hem, grounding the figure nicely below all that flowing fabric.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Death Gambit (Season 2) Action Figure 06

Death Gambit’s full accessory spread gives you a clear look at his two kinetic energy card effects, one a loose pair of cards and the other a tall, fanned-out stack, both sculpted with those ornate skull emblems in gold. It’s cool to see how the metallic blue chest plate catches your attention against all those dark greys, with the open coat revealing the segmented torso detailing underneath.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Death Gambit (Season 2) Action Figure 08

Cyclops (Season 2)

The card art features a stylized illustration of Cyclops in his X-Men ’97 Season 2 look, with a bold yellow and black uniform, his auburn hair swept back, and that signature ruby quartz visor sitting low across his brow. The upper right corner is packed with illustrated teammates including Beast, Cable, Jean Grey, and Polaris, all framed against warm orange and yellow diagonal stripes that give the whole package a retro-animated energy.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Cyclops (Season 2) Action Figure 10

Here’s a closer look at the back of Cyclops’ packaging, which showcases the full X-Men ’97 Season 2 wave with character portraits for Death Gambit, Jean Grey, Polaris, Havok, and Vindicator lined up alongside a large illustration of Cyclops himself. I like how the back art gives you a nice preview of the whole roster, making it easy to see how well this lineup fits together as a coordinated wave.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Cyclops (Season 2) Action Figure 11

Cyclops’ training uniform pairs a bright yellow torso with dark charcoal-black pants, gloves, and boots, and the contrast between the two tones is really sharp. You can see how the diagonal black strap cutting across his chest breaks up the yellow and ties into the X-Men emblem on his right arm, while a matching X buckle sits at the belt line.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Cyclops (Season 2) Action Figure 03

Cyclops’ headsculpt has a great gritted-teeth expression that sells the intensity, with his auburn hair sculpted in a tousled, windswept style that feels right for the animated look. The ruby quartz visor wraps cleanly around his face with a subtle silver trim along the edges, and the yellow striping on his forearm cuffs adds a nice bit of detail that pulls the whole uniform together.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Cyclops (Season 2) Action Figure 07

From the back, you can see how the yellow section of Cyclops’ torso tapers into a clean V-shape where it meets the black lower half, and the seam lines along the legs are nicely worked into the sculpt so they don’t distract. The boots have a chunky, segmented design with distinct knee guards and thick soles that feel appropriately utilitarian for a training uniform.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Cyclops (Season 2) Action Figure 08

Cyclops comes with a solid set of accessories, including an alternate headsculpt with a gritted, snarling expression and two swap-out open hands featuring yellow X details on the backs of the gloves. Something I appreciate here is that the alternate head gives you a distinctly different mood from the default, and those open hands with the X markings add a nice display option that ties back into the training uniform motif.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Cyclops (Season 2) Action Figure 09

Jean Grey (Season 2)

Jean Grey’s packaging features her character art on the left side of the card, depicting her in the black and yellow training uniform with flowing red hair and a confident expression, set against that same warm orange and yellow X-Men emblem backdrop used across the wave. Tucked in the blister alongside her are two translucent blue psionic power effects, which have a swirling, organic shape that should look great once you get them attached to her hands.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Jean Grey (Season 2) Action Figure 10

The back of Jean Grey’s packaging follows the same wave layout, with character portraits for Death Gambit, Cyclops, Havok, Polaris, and Vindicator stacked along the left side. Her large photo on the right shows off how the black and yellow training uniform reads as a cohesive team look alongside the other figures in this Season 2 roster.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Jean Grey (Season 2) Action Figure 11

Jean Grey’s training uniform matches the team aesthetic perfectly, with a yellow bolero-style jacket layered over a black bodysuit and those same yellow-striped forearm cuffs seen on Cyclops. Her headsculpt features a confident, composed expression with bright blue eyes and deep red hair swept over one shoulder, giving the figure a look that’s distinctly Jean even without the classic green and gold.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Jean Grey (Season 2) Action Figure 03

From the back, Jean Grey’s red hair cascades in a thick, sculpted wave that drapes naturally over her right shoulder and down past her mid-back, with individual strands carved into the plastic giving it real volume. The X-Men emblem on her left shoulder sits cleanly against the dark black of the bodysuit, and her silver belt has a segmented, utilitarian look that breaks up the transition between the yellow jacket and the black lower half.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Jean Grey (Season 2) Action Figure 04

One of Jean Grey’s translucent blue psionic power effects wraps around her open hand with a swirling, flame-like shape that has a nice gradient from deep blue at the base to nearly clear at the tips. I like how the effect piece contrasts against the dark black of her glove and sleeve, making it the immediate focal point of the figure in this configuration.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Jean Grey (Season 2) Action Figure 07

Jean Grey’s full accessory layout gives you a clear look at everything included: a pair of alternate open hands and two translucent blue psionic power effects, all laid out alongside the figure for a total of four accessories. The alternate hands have a splayed, expressive finger sculpt that should work nicely for telepathic gesture poses, and the two psionic effects each have a slightly different curl and taper to keep them from looking like duplicates.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Jean Grey (Season 2) Action Figure 08

Havok (Season 2)

Havok’s packaging card art shows him in his deep blue and yellow uniform with that signature concentric circle chest emblem, his blond hair swept to one side and a stern expression on his face. Nestled in the blister beside him are two translucent yellow-green plasma blast effects with swirling, ringed shapes that immediately echo his comic book energy signature.Cyclops (Season 2)

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Havok (Season 2) Action Figure 09

The back of Havok’s packaging follows the same wave layout, with character portraits for Death Gambit, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Polaris, and Vindicator lined up alongside a large photo of the figure itself. You can see how his translucent yellow-green plasma blast effects frame his hands nicely in the preview shot, and the deep blue uniform with its bold yellow chevron across the chest really pops against the bright yellow card design.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Havok (Season 2) Action Figure 10

Havok’s translucent yellow-green plasma blast effects are the real showstoppers here, with the larger piece behind him featuring concentric ring patterns that fan out like a massive energy disc, while a smaller version hovers above his open palm. I like how the deep blue uniform’s gold trim lines up along the seams of his jacket, boots, and knee guards, creating a cohesive military-style look that feels distinct from the training uniforms worn by the rest of the team.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Havok (Season 2) Action Figure 03

Havok’s headsculpt has a stern, focused expression with sharp cheekbones and a distinctive blond hair sweep that curls forward over his dark headband, nailing the animated look. You can see how the yellow chevron across his chest tapers into a starburst shape at center, with the concentric circle emblem sitting right at the focal point where the design converges.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Havok (Season 2) Action Figure 05

A close-up reveals the sheer size of Havok’s larger plasma blast effect, which towers behind him with those concentric ring patterns molded into the translucent yellow-green plastic, creating an impressive sense of scale against the figure. His goatee and the sharp sculpt lines around his brow add subtle detail to the face that you don’t fully appreciate until you’re this close.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Havok (Season 2) Action Figure 06

Clad in that deep blue uniform, Havok’s thigh pouches have sculpted flap details with gold trim outlining their edges, matching the same accent work running along his collar and belt line. His blue gloves extend just past the wrist with exposed skin at the forearm, and the boots feature a smooth, rounded toe with a distinct separation at the ankle joint that keeps them looking sleek.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Havok (Season 2) Action Figure 07

Polaris (Season 2)

Polaris’ packaging card art features a full-body illustration of her on the left side, depicting her voluminous green hair flowing wildly around her shoulders against the warm orange and yellow diagonal stripe design carried across the entire Season 2 wave. Beside her in the blister sit two translucent green electromagnetic effects pieces with swirling, organic ring shapes that echo the same approach used for Havok’s plasma blasts but in Polaris’ signature green.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Polaris (Season 2) Action Figure 11

The back of Polaris’ packaging follows the same wave layout, with character portraits for Death Gambit, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Havok, and Vindicator lined up alongside a large illustration of her in the deep blue and gold training suit with green electromagnetic energy swirling around her fist. I like how the illustration really emphasizes the wild volume of her green hair, which fans out in thick, flowing tendrils that practically fill the right side of the card.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Polaris (Season 2) Action Figure 12

Polaris’ electromagnetic effects pieces are impressive up close, with their translucent green plastic forming intricate, looping ring structures that wrap around her splayed yellow hands and extend well past her arms. Her green hair sculpt has incredible volume and movement, with thick, curling tendrils fanning out in every direction and partially framing her face, where green-tinted lips and a sharp, determined expression complete the look.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Polaris (Season 2) Action Figure 04

Polaris’ deep blue bodysuit has a clean yellow collar and matching belt that tie her into the same training uniform aesthetic as the rest of the Season 2 team, while her yellow boots feature a folded cuff detail at the top that adds a nice bit of character. You can see how the electromagnetic effects pieces differ between her two hands, with the larger one forming a wide, irregular orbital loop and the smaller one creating a tighter, more compact burst of translucent green energy.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Polaris (Season 2) Action Figure 06

Sporting her alternate pair of fisted hands in yellow, Polaris looks great without the electromagnetic effects pieces, letting the clean lines of her blue bodysuit and that wild green hair sculpt take center stage. I like the way her yellow wrist cuffs and ankle cuffs mirror each other, creating a consistent visual rhythm that ties the upper and lower halves of the figure together.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Polaris (Season 2) Action Figure 08

Here’s a closer look at Polaris’ full accessory spread, which includes an alternate pair of fisted hands in yellow and those two translucent green electromagnetic effects pieces, each featuring irregular orbital loops with spiked, organic protrusions along their edges. The small red X emblem on her chest sits right where the yellow collar meets the blue bodysuit, a subtle but important detail that locks her into the X-Men team identity.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Polaris (Season 2) Action Figure 09

Vindicator (Season 2)

Vindicator’s packaging card art features a bold illustration of James Hudson on the left side, depicted in his classic white and red maple leaf-emblazoned suit with a dark cowl framing his face, set against the warm yellow and orange diagonal stripes consistent with the rest of the Season 2 wave. Inside the blister, you can see his two alternate open hands alongside an alternate headsculpt, and the figure’s metallic reddish-brown shoulder panels and chest starburst have a pearlescent quality that contrasts nicely against the crisp white of the suit.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Vindicator (Season 2) Action Figure 09

The back of Vindicator’s packaging displays the full Season 2 wave roster with character portraits for Death Gambit, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Havok, and Polaris stacked along the left side. The large photo of the figure on the right gives you a nice sense of how the white suit’s clean lines work against those reddish-brown accents across the shoulders and thighs, with his dark cowl and mask framing a stern, square-jawed expression.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Vindicator (Season 2) Action Figure 10

Vindicator’s white suit reads crisp and clean against the deep reddish-brown starburst pattern across his chest, where the jagged maple leaf shape radiates outward across his torso and wraps onto both shoulders. His cowl features a black mask with yellow eyes and a white crescent moon detail at the crown, while his gritted teeth and exposed jaw add a lot of intensity to the headsculpt.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Vindicator (Season 2) Action Figure 03

From the back, Vindicator’s starburst pattern continues beautifully, with the reddish-brown maple leaf shape spreading across his shoulder blades and tapering down toward his waist before the suit returns to solid white through the legs. I like how the reddish-brown stripe runs down each outer calf in a single clean line, breaking up all that white and giving the rear of the figure just enough visual interest to keep it from reading flat.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Vindicator (Season 2) Action Figure 04

Vindicator’s alternate headsculpt swaps in here, and it’s nice to see a different expression option that opens up new display possibilities alongside the default gritted-teeth look. His white boots have a smooth, rounded sculpt with subtle panel lines at the ankle, and the way the reddish-brown accents on the outer thighs taper to sharp points keeps the lower half of the figure visually interesting.

X Men '97 Marvel Legends Marvel's Vindicator (Season 2) Action Figure 05

Vindicator’s full accessory spread is laid out here, showing the alternate headsculpt with a calmer, closed-mouth expression alongside two swap-out open hands with splayed fingers that offer a nice alternative to the default fists. I noticed that the alternate head features the same black mask and white crescent moon detail but with a more neutral, composed look that works well if you want to dial back the aggression of the default sculpt.
