Massive thanks to oberpfalz_skeletor (aka Roland) on Instagram as he has given collectors a real treat by sharing in-hand images of the Masterverse Vintage Collection Stratos, along with the very first look at his box art, which pays homage to the legendary artwork of Errol McCarthy. Stratos has always been one of those core heroic warriors that fans associate with the early days of the Masters of the Universe, and seeing him represented in the Vintage Collection brings a wave of nostalgia mixed with fresh excitement. We first broke the news back in February 2025 that Stratos would be joining the Vintage Collection, and when he officially went up for preorder during the July 2025 edition of Walmart Collector Con. Now, with Roland’s in-hand images, fans are getting their first real sense of how this figure translates into the Masterverse Vintage Collection style.

Figure Details
The figure itself captures the essence of the vintage design while layering in the detailing and articulation that the Masterverse line is known for. With images now hitting social media, it’s only a matter of time before more collectors start to receive their orders, making this a perfect moment to celebrate the arrival of another classic warrior in the Vintage Collection lineup.

In the image oberpfalz_skeletor, has swapped out the red wings and blue jet pack for the alternate set included with the figure, showcasing Stratos with his striking blue wings and a red jet pack. This feature adds some nice variety for collectors who enjoy customizing their display, and it really highlights the thought Mattel put into packing Stratos with interchangeable options.

These additional shots show off Stratos’ range of motion, with one pose highlighting his broad chest and feathered harness while the other captures him in mid-flight, arms raised high. The sculpted fur details across his body are easy to spot from different angles, and the bright red and blue color scheme pop against the neutral background.

Collectors will notice that the packaging leans heavily into vintage callbacks, with artwork inspired by Errol McCarthy, one of the most iconic artists from the original MOTU line. His box art not only ties Stratos into the history of the brand but also offers that same nostalgic feeling fans had when staring at cardbacks as kids.

Stratos Vintage Artwork
Stratos’ box art pays homage to his vintage artwork, which also teases the yellow-skinned Evil-Lyn and Beast Man! There is some president for Masterverse figures coming from box art teases and we are sure that a Beast Man will be on the way at some point. As for the vintage card art, Stratos is known as a member of the Heroic Warriors and is often depicted as a guardian of Eternia, highlighting themes of bravery and heroism that resonate throughout the Masters of the Universe franchise. The original Stratos figure was part of the first wave of Masters of the Universe action figures introduced by Mattel. We are hoping that @natebaertschart continues to lend his amazing artistic skills to the box art as the iconic scene, first illustrated by Errol McCarthy shows Stratos soaring high above as Skeletor, Evil-Lyn and Beastman watch. This is a classic card back art and the caption reads “Stratos swoops down upon Skeletor & his Evil Warriors. In the illustrated scene, Stratos is usually portrayed as a heroic figure, showcasing his distinctive blue and red color scheme and winged harness. This design emphasizes his abilities and attributes, such as flight and agility. The artwork captures the essence of the character and the overall fantasy theme of the MOTU line.

Stratos features a heavily textured gray body with sculpted fur detailing throughout his limbs and torso, staying true to his original design while enhancing it with the articulation and proportions of the Masterverse line. His red helmet, harness, and jetpack pop against the gray and blue color scheme, evoking the vintage figure’s palette.

This Masters of the Universe action figure of Stratos joins the Vintage Collection, designed at Masterverse 7-inch scale and inspired by the original MOTU toy design. With 30 points of articulation, Leader of the Bird People has deluxe glass eyes, removable wings and chest harness/jetpack. He comes with a second set of halter/backpack and wings in an alternate color, and an extra set of hands.

In the first image, Stratos is posed in a lunging action stance with his red feathered arms extended forward, emphasizing his mobility and flight-themed design. The second image shows him in a classic airborne pose, arms raised as his blue feathered wings flare out from under his arms, capturing the essence of his aerial capabilities. These shots not only highlight his retro-inspired look but also showcase the figure’s flexibility and range of motion, which are key strengths of the Masterverse line. Overall, this version of Stratos honors the vintage aesthetic while delivering on modern collector-grade quality.
