I’m really fired up about this one, because we now have our first in-box look at Roboto from the MOTU Origins 200x line, and seeing this figure go from its big reveal at SDCC 2025 to official images/preorder to production packaging images feels like one of those full circle moments that remind you why staying plugged into this hobby is so rewarding. Massive thanks to Mr. Home Arcade for tracking for the tip off, and if you know anything about MHA, you know that when he’s on the hunt, in-hand images are never far behind, so I’m already looking forward to getting an even closer look at this one very soon. We also need to send a shoutout to Joe telling MHA, because it truly takes a community effort to surface these discoveries and keep the intel flowing. From the in-box images we can get a solid look at both the box art and the production figure itself, and Roboto is looking sharp in that 200x styling that gave so many classic characters a more detailed, slightly more aggressive edge back in the Mike Young Productions era. The translucent chest cavity, the mechanical detailing, and the overall proportions all appear to translate well into the Origins format, which has consistently proven it can handle the 200x aesthetic when Mattel commits to it. I love how this line continues to pull from that era and give collectors who grew up with the 2002 cartoon a dedicated space on the shelf, and seeing Roboto finally make his way from a convention reveal to something tangible in packaging is exactly the kind of progression that keeps you checking in every single day. Can’t wait to see what MHA pulls together once he has this one fully in hand.
In-Box Images
The card art features a fiery orange and red cosmic burst framing the window box, with the familiar He-Man and the Masters of the Universe banner at the top. I like how the Cartoon Collection sub-line branding sits cleanly below the window, tying this 200x Roboto into the broader series aesthetic. This figure is also MASSIVE and he fills up the ENTIRE deluxe window display!

The translucent blue plastic on Roboto’s chest cavity looks great here, giving a nice peek at the internal gear mechanism underneath. His color scheme splits cleanly between the off-white and steel blue upper body and the lower half, with sculpted panel lines and vents adding texture throughout the limbs.

The back of the box showcases original illustrated artwork depicting Roboto charging into battle, with the metallic blue and red color scheme popping against the warm, explosion-filled Eternian landscape as he fends of an army of warriors as Tri-Klops looks on from the cliff above. Along the bottom, cross-sell images of Ram Man, Clawful, and Roboto give a look at the other figures in the wave.

The side panel features a close-up portrait of Roboto’s helmeted head set against that same fiery red and orange cosmic backdrop. The artwork captures the layered blue and silver tones of his 200x helmet design, with the red mouthplate and visor accents adding a nice contrast.

The opposite side panel features full-body artwork of Roboto wielding his arm cannon and shoulder-mounted launcher, set against a smoky, atmospheric backdrop with warm reds and cool blues blending together. I like the look of the rocky terrain at his feet, which adds a nice sense of scale to the illustration.

The bottom of the box shows the standard black info panel with the UPC so you can use it find in-store!
