Moss Man and Ram Man MOTU Origins 2026 Movie 2-Pack Review

Just a day after we got a good look at the packaging for the latest Moss Man and Ram Man MOTU Origins 2-Pack, Planet Eternia on YouTube gives us a fantastic look at the figures tied to the upcoming 2026 Masters of the Universe movie. This is one of those releases that immediately grabbed my attention when it was first revealed, and seeing it in-hand through Planet Eternia’s coverage really drives home how well Mattel handled these two characters. Moss Man looks to carry that signature flocked texture we all love, and it’s great to see how the movie-inspired design translates into the Origins aesthetic without losing what makes the character feel like Moss Man. Ram Man, meanwhile, has always been a figure that demands a unique buck, and from what these images show, the proportions and chunky silhouette look dialed in. The sculpt work on both figures appears clean, and there’s a nice interplay between the two designs when you see them side by side in the packaging. Ram Man’s compact proportions and thick black boots give him a noticeably different silhouette, and that chunky, grounded build works perfectly alongside Moss Man’s taller, more organic shape.

Moss Man

The figure has a leaner, more human-proportioned build than the classic MOTU Origins Moss Man, with a narrower torso, longer limbs, and a more natural body shape that lines up with the aesthetic we’ve been seeing from the 2026 movie-inspired designs. The bright green flocking is concentrated across the upper chest, shoulders, and upper back, creating the appearance of moss growing over the figure rather than completely covering it. Below that, the sculpt transitions into textured bark-like details on the arms, torso, and legs, while a layered brown loincloth with bone and tooth decorations breaks up the green color palette. The portrait features long green hair and a full beard, giving the figure a rugged woodland appearance, and the overall build feels less exaggerated than traditional MOTU figures while still retaining the broad-shouldered heroic frame associated with the line.

The flocking across Moss Man’s upper chest and shoulders is concentrated in a thick band that honestly gives off a fuzzy crop top vibe, leaving the sculpted abs and lower torso completely bare. It’s a fun texture choice that contrasts the soft, fibrous material against the carved vine-like detail running down his green skin and the rugged leather loincloth below.

You get a nice side angle on the loincloth here, showing off the sculpted leather folds and the fangs or teeth dangling from its lower edge. The flocking wraps around the back and shoulders with a noticeable thickness that really pops from this perspective, tapering as it meets the smoother green skin of the arms and midsection.

The loincloth sculpt is loaded with detail from this front view, with three large fangs hanging from a gnarled, knotted belt line and deep folds carved into the leather that give it a ragged, primitive look. You can also see how the fur texture sculpted into his legs transitions seamlessly from the smooth midsection above the belt.

From the back, you can see exactly where the flocking cuts off around the mid-back, leaving the lower torso’s sculpted fur texture fully exposed beneath it. The loincloth hangs with a clean, fitted shape from behind, its brown leather panel tucked neatly between the legs with the dark belt cinching everything tight at the waist.

You get a solid side-by-side comparison here between the 2026 movie Moss Man on the left and the Origins Moss Man on the right, and the design philosophy difference is immediately clear. The movie version leans into a more detailed, naturalistic sculpt with visible musculature, a leather loincloth with dangling fangs, and flocking concentrated across the upper body, while the Origins version keeps things faithful to the vintage look with uniform flocking covering nearly the entire figure and a simpler, blockier build.

The Origins Moss Man head sits on the movie body on the left, and the swap works surprisingly well, with the softer, more cartoonish face and smooth green scalp blending into the flocked shoulders without looking out of place. On the right, the movie Moss Man head on the Origins body shows off that snarling, bearded face sculpt against the full-coverage flocking, and the contrast between the two head styles really highlights how much personality each version brings to the table.

Ram Man

Ram Man’s overall design comes together nicely here, with the deep red segmented skirt, heavy green-gray shoulder armor, and a peaked helmet that frames his stern face while leaving just enough skin visible to break up all that bulky gear. The brown belt with its circular buckle sits right at the waistline and anchors the upper and lower halves of the outfit, while dark gauntlets and boots bookend the exposed arms and legs to keep the color palette tight and cohesive.

Planet Eternia captures a great close-up of Ram Man’s face sculpt here, showing off the movie-inspired features with a strong brow, squared jaw, and a neatly sculpted goatee that gives him a grounded, cinematic look beneath that peaked helmet. The armor across the shoulders and chest carries a weathered patina finish with subtle tonal variation across the green-gray metal, making the rivets, chain links, and layered plates feel like worn battlefield gear rather than clean, fresh sculpting.

The back of Ram Man reveals a large, smooth armor plate that covers the upper back and connects into the shoulder pauldrons, with clean segmented lines carved across it. Below the belt, the red skirt panels wrap all the way around with rows of small riveted studs dotting each segment, and the dark green leg armor and black boots carry sculpted stitching and buckle details you don’t catch from the front.

The knee joints are clearly visible from this rear angle, showing the segmented cuts between the green upper boot armor and the black lower boots where the articulation breaks occur. The studded red skirt panels hang just above the joint line, and you can see how the brown belt’s squared buckle sits flush against the back of the waist.

The movie Origins Ram Man on the left has that stockier, more compact build with simplified armor sculpting and a broader torso, while the Chronicles version on the right features sharper, more detailed plate work across the chest, textured chainmail at the shoulders, and a slimmer, more proportional frame. You can really appreciate how the Chronicles figure refines the same core design with added sculpted complexity in the belt, skirt, and gauntlets, plus a more defined face sculpt with a mustache and goatee that gives a distinctly different take on the character.

The movie MOTU Origins version on the left carries that darker, weathered green-gray armor with a more cinematic helmet shape and subtle patina across the plates, while the Origins version on the right keeps things brighter and cleaner with polished silver armor, a skull-faced belt buckle, and a more traditional toy aesthetic. The axe designs differ noticeably too, with the movie version sporting a broader, flatter blade compared to the chunkier, more stylized axe on the classic figure.
