MOTU Core Wave 4 Official Images

We got our first look at MOTU Core Wave 4 through those small teaser images that surfaced alongside the movie figure drop back in May, but now we’ve tracked down the full official images of the entire wave, and these give us a much clearer picture of what Mattel has cooking for Skeletor v2, Teela v2, Ram Man, and Tri-Klops. Starting with Skeletor v2, collectors finally get a better sense of how this updated take on the Lord of Destruction is shaping up compared to his first Core release, and I’m curious to see how the sculpt and deco refinements translate once people start getting these in hand. Teela v2 is another one I’ve been wanting to get a proper look at, because the teaser images were promising but didn’t reveal enough to really judge the figure’s proportions and paint work at full resolution. Ram Man is a character that always carries a certain weight of expectation with collectors given how iconic and distinct his silhouette is in the MOTU lineup, so seeing him rendered in the Core style with these cleaner images should spark some good discussion about how well they’ve captured that stocky, battering ram energy. And then there’s Tri-Klops, a deep cut that I love seeing get the Core treatment because he’s one of those villains who often gets overlooked in smaller waves but absolutely deserves a spot on the shelf. All four figures look solid from what we can see here!

Ram Man wears a heavy gray armor piece over his shoulders and head, with sculpted chain links and a rugged, battle-worn texture across the entire upper section. His crimson tunic has a crosshatch fabric texture and splits into pleated strips below the belt, where a round medallion buckle sits at the center.

Dark green leg wraps cover his shins beneath the pleated tunic strips, tucked into flat-soled boots. He carries a double-headed battle axe with a long, ridged handle.

His face sculpt has a stern expression with a neatly trimmed mustache, framed tightly by the gray helmet that sits flush against his cheeks. The dark burgundy gauntlets have individually sculpted fingers.

The belt wrapping his waist has a thick, weathered leather texture with subtle creasing where it cinches against the tunic. His bare upper arms contrast with the heavy gray shoulder armor, showing clean skin tone separation against the riveted metal plating.

The underside of the pleated tunic strips shows clean separation between each panel, with the crosshatch pattern carrying through to the edges. That round medallion buckle on the belt has a nice hammered, irregular surface to it.

Teela v2 wears a gold sleeveless top with a white chevron accent at the neckline, paired with white pants that have gold panels running down the outer legs and dark brown strapping wrapped around the thighs. Her red-brown hair is sculpted swept back with a her strands framing her face, and she’s equipped with a sword featuring an ornate crossguard.

The staff she carries has a long, smooth shaft with a pointed blade at one end, simple in design but well-proportioned to the figure. Her face sculpt has a confident, focused expression with cleanly printed eyes.

Teela v2 carries a sword with an angular, ornate crossguard and a pointed, tapered blade. The gold and white color split runs asymmetrically down her legs, with brown strapping defining the boundary between the two tones.

The corset-style sculpted ribbing across the midsection of her top adds real texture to the torso, a nice structural detail that reads well at this scale. Her thigh holster is sized to fit the rifle accessory, which has a curved stock and a long barrel.

Tri-Klops

The flat-soled boots have a rigid, armored look with overlapping panels sculpted up through the ankle, meeting the ribbed shin guards with a tight seam. Underneath the helmet’s brim, his face has a focused, serious expression with strong brow definition and a clean jawline.

Skeletor v2

Skeletor v2 is covered head to toe in a translucent blue body with purple bracers and boots, draped in a dark cape with a tattered lower edge and a sculpted chest piece featuring pink gem accents. The Havoc Staff is topped with a massive flame-shaped head, and his yellow skull face peers out from beneath a dark hood.

The Havoc Staff has deeply curved horns with pink gem insets at the base, mounted on a long shaft with segmented ridging. A large flame effect piece is included alongside the staff, sculpted with layered, swirling tendrils that taper to jagged points.

The sculpted chest harness has an ornate, almost gothic design with raised filigree detailing around each pink gem, one centered on the chest and another matching on the belt buckle. His cape drapes with real weight and has a nice raw, frayed edge along the bottom that gives it a worn, organic feel.

His purple boots have a sculpted cuff that flares out just below the knee, with fine crease lines running down to the soles. The hood frames his skull face tightly, with a smooth interior lining that contrasts against the textured exterior of the cape.

Full figure shot here gives a clean look at the overall color breakdown, with the green body, purple extremities, and black armor all reading as a cohesive package. The tattered cape hem has an uneven, shredded cut that differs from strip to strip, and the belt section carries a heavily textured sculpt with overlapping leather-like panels.
