We’ve been tracking LJN WWE Superstars Wave 3 since the figures were first revealed at WrestleMania 42 and then followed up with official images and preorder details, but now the wave is starting to surface on eBay and we’re finally getting our best look yet at how these figures actually present through the bubble on the card, which is always the moment that matters most for a line so deeply rooted in the nostalgia of seeing those chunky rubber figures hanging on pegs at Toys “R” Us back in the day. The in-package shots give us a clear view of Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jake “The Snake” Roberts carded up and looking like they stepped right out of 1986, and the card backs are visible too, which is always one of those details that completes the picture for collectors who care about presentation and display as much as the figures themselves. Jelly Roll is also part of this wave but so far no in-package images of him have turned up, so we’ll have to wait a little longer on that one. What I love about this line is how well it captures the spirit of the original LJN aesthetic while giving us characters and matchups we never had back then, and seeing them sealed on card just reinforces how much care is going into the packaging design and overall presentation. The card art, the bubble shape, the layout on the back, all of it feeds into that vintage feel that makes this line such a treat for collectors who grew up with the originals. Hopefully carded shots of Jelly Roll surface soon so we can see the complete wave in all its packaged glory…just kidding! Who cares about the Jelly Roll figure? This is a legit question because the cardbacks do not even feature him on the cross sell!

Jake The Snake Roberts

Jake “The Snake” Roberts comes packaged on a blue card with the bold “WWE Superstars” header, and the illustrated card art behind the bubble features a crowd of cartoon wrestlers at ringside. The figure is packaged with his signature snake draped across his shoulders, and the green camouflage tights and brown boots are clearly detailed through the bubble.

The back of Jake “The Snake” Roberts’ card features a photo of the real wrestler alongside a character bio panel. Below that, small figure photos show the full wave roster including The Rock, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Ultimate Warrior, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Jesse “The Body” Ventura, King Kong Bundy, Hulk Hogan, Dusty Rhodes, Logan Paul, and John Cena.

A closer look at Jake “The Snake” Roberts still sealed on-card, and the snake accessory’s sculpted scales and coiled body wrap around the figure nicely inside the bubble. His brown hair, thick mustache, and white wrist tape are all easy to see through the packaging.

The back of the card includes a cut-and-collect panel with a real photo of Jake Roberts in his green trunks and the character’s bio text framed by a red border. The bottom grid of figure photos gives a nice overview of the lineup’s chunky LJN-style sculpts, each one capturing a distinct wrestling persona. The bio reads: The 268 pound maverick from Stone Mountain, GA cooly slithers and slams his way past his unfortunate opponents. Jake’s trademark move is the DDT, but he is even more famous for his post match habits. If his fallen opponent cannot get up, Jake gives his python, Damian, the opportunity to crawl over his body. Not only is this unnerving, but it is also terribly humiliating.

Rowdy Roddy Piper (Chase)

“Rowdy” Roddy Piper comes sealed on-card wearing his iconic white “Hot Rod!” t-shirt over a plaid kilt, with red lace-up boots completing the look. The card art behind the bubble features the same cartoon ringside crowd scene, and the figure’s smirking expression and brown hair are clean reads through the packaging.

Here is the the vibrant blue cardback and it immediately draws your attention with the oversized red and white WWE Superstars logo dominating the upper portion of the design. A vintage-style World Wrestling Entertainment emblem appears in the top corner alongside the age recommendation, reinforcing the retro aesthetic. Behind the blister, an illustrated wrestling ring scene is packed with animated crowd members and exaggerated wrestler artwork, creating the energetic atmosphere of an arena in full swing.

The back of Roddy Piper’s card features the same character photo showing him in the white t-shirt and plaid kilt at ringside, framed within the dashed cut-and-collect panel. The bottom wave lineup grid includes all ten figures, from The Rock through John Cena, each rendered in that stocky retro LJN sculpt style. Here is what his bio says: “Rowdy” Roddy Piper is the “Hot Rod” of WWE. At 230 pounds and 6 feet 3 inches in height, Roddy Piper does not take kindly to looks about his kilt. In fact, Piper does not take kindly to anyone. He is the most vicious, treacherous man in the history of the business. His nasty jokes and mocking laughter fool no man in WWE. Beware the Scotsman!

The Rock sits sealed on his card with the championship belt sculpted snugly around his waist, and his dark trunks, elbow pads, and tall boots give him a clean Attitude Era look through the bubble. That head sculpt captures his classic raised-eyebrow intensity well for this scale.

The back of The Rock’s card uses the same blue layout, with the cut-and-collect panel featuring a photo of him shirtless and wearing the championship belt. The bottom lineup grid rounds out the full ten-figure waves, and it’s fun to see Logan Paul slotted in alongside legends like Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior. The 6 foot 5 inch, 260 pound third generation superstar earned the nickname “The Most Electrifying Man in Entertainment.” Whether he dominates his opponent on the microphone with cutting catchphrases or destroys them in the middle of the ring with the Rock Bottom, there is nobody in WWE better than the People’s Champ. If you smell what The Rock is cookin’.

The Rock’s championship belt is the standout detail through the bubble here, with the globe emblem and “Champion” text cleanly sculpted into the plate. Black elbow pads and black boots frame the bare torso, and the card’s illustrated crowd scene fills the space behind him.

The full top row of the wave lineup on the card back shows The Rock, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, and Jake “The Snake” Roberts side by side, each figure captured in a small photo with their names printed beneath. The bottom row is partially cut off but shows Jesse “The Body” Ventura in his pink suit, King Kong Bundy in his black singlet, and what looks to be Dusty Rhodes with his championship belt and yellow trunks.
