ThunderCats are on the move, ThunderCats are loose! We are coming to you live from the Super7 booth at SDCC 2026 and boy are we thrilled to share these incredible images with you! Super7 has their ULTIMATES Lion-O and Mumm-Ra Light Up Eyes Retro Cardback Toy Color exclusives on full display, and they look even more stunning in person. But that’s not all, because Super7 also revealed the all new Astral Moat Monster, and I can’t be more excited about that! If you’ve been following our coverage, you already know we shared the initial reveal of the Light Up Eyes Lion-O and Mumm-Ra SDCC exclusives when they were first announced, and now we get to see them up close on the show floor. The LED light-up eyes on both figures are really cool in person, and those retro cardback presentations with the toy color decos are absolutely gorgeous. Sight beyond sight indeed! And then there’s the Astral Moat Monster. I mean, come on, what a deep cut! This creature from the depths of Third Earth is such an amazing addition to the ULTIMATES ThunderCats line, and I just love that Super7 continues to dig into the lore of this franchise beyond the core cast. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet regarding release details or preorder info for the Astral Moat Monster, seeing it on display at the booth has us so excited for what’s to come. Light Up Eyes Retro Cardback Lion-O & Mumm-Ra

Here you can see both figures side by side still sealed on their retro cardbacks, and it’s a great way to appreciate how different the two color palettes are, with Lion-O’s warm oranges and blues playing against Mumm-Ra’s cool teal and fiery red. I noticed that both packages feature the “Eyes Light Up!” callout with a small circular illustration showing each character’s glowing eyes, which is a fun nod to the LED feature packed inside.

The retro-inspired cardback is a real love letter to the original LJN packaging, with the classic ThunderCats logo splashed across the top in that familiar chrome-and-red gradient. Lion-O’s “Toy Color” variant sits inside a clear bubble tray surrounded by his swap-out hands and the Sword of Omens in both short and extended forms, all framed by that signature explosion-style burst behind the figure.

Lion-O’s toy color deco really shines here with that saturated orange skin against the sky blue of his leotard, and the ThunderCats emblem on his belt buckle is a nice crisp red-and-black detail that anchors the whole color scheme. Something I appreciate here is how the swap-out hands are molded in a cream tone that contrasts with the orange, giving them a distinct gloved look that matches the cartoon’s design.

Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living’s retro cardback mirrors the same classic packaging design seen with Lion-O, complete with a cartoon-style illustration of the character in the upper right corner alongside the “Eyes Light Up!” callout. I like how the toy color deco really pops inside the bubble, with those red tendrils and helmet crest creating a vivid contrast against the teal-green body and the black card behind it.

Here’s a closer look at Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living still sealed on that retro cardback, and you can see how the accessories are tucked into the bubble alongside him, including the Sword of Plun-Darr with its black crossguard and what appears to be the miniature decayed Mumm-Ra form cast in that same teal-green plastic. I like the way the yellow knee guards and gold waistband break up the monochromatic green, adding just enough warm color to keep the figure from blending into itself.

Astral Moat Monster

The Astral Moat Monster’s clawed feet are a great detail, with those pale blue talons splayed wide across three thick toes on each foot, giving him a real reptilian foundation beneath all that fur. You can see how he’s clutching what appears to be a small orange-and-black accessory, possibly one of the spirit fire effects from Lion-O’s set, which really sells the sense of scale on this creature.

One thing I noticed right away is how the Astral Moat Monster’s glowing pink-red eyes sit recessed beneath a heavy brow ridge studded with rounded bumps, giving the head sculpt an almost amphibian quality that’s distinct from the more reptilian lower half. His stubby little bat-like wing on the left side features a translucent red membrane stretched between black, curved horn-like supports, and it’s a surprisingly delicate detail on such a chunky creature.

The Astral Moat Monster is an absolute beast of a figure, covered in deep purple skin with a massive gaping maw lined with jagged white teeth and a fleshy pink-and-crimson interior that’s wonderfully grotesque. I’m really digging the textured fur sculpted around his lower half, where dark grey and black striations give those shaggy haunches a layered, almost matted look that contrasts perfectly with the smooth purple of his upper body.

Toy Colors Thundertank

The Thundertank is a massive piece, and you can really appreciate the sheer footprint of it here, with those black treaded tank tracks on the right side and the red jaw assembly up front lined with white sculpted fangs. Panthro’s small figure is seated in the cockpit, and there’s a set of red claw-shaped missile accessories loaded into the rear turret section, along with what looks like a spare head and hands set sitting just in front of the vehicle.
