ThunderCats are on the move, ThunderCats are loose! Super7 just dropped a reveal that has us absolutely buzzing, and boy are we thrilled to share it with you! The company has officially unveiled their SDCC 2026 exclusive ULTIMATES Lion-O and Mumm-Ra figures, both featuring LED light-up eyes and presented on gorgeous retro cardback packaging in stunning toy color editions. How amazing is that?! We first got a glimpse of a light-up eyes Lion-O concept back when Super7 posted a teaser on their Instagram a while back, and now the wait is finally over because these are real and headed to San Diego Comic-Con! The new images shared by @super7 on Instagram show Lion-O looking super exciting in that classic toy color deco on a retro Kenner-style cardback that is going to send every 80s kid straight back to the toy aisle. I always loved the original LJN packaging and seeing Super7 pay homage to that era with these ULTIMATES figures on card is really cool. And the LED light-up eyes? I mean, come on, the Sword of Omens giving Lion-O “sight beyond sight” is one of the most iconic moments in all of 80s animation, and now your figure’s eyes actually glow. I can’t be more excited about that detail. And it’s not just the Lord of the ThunderCats getting the treatment either. Mumm-Ra is joining him as an SDCC exclusive with the same light-up eyes feature and retro cardback presentation. Having both the hero and the villain available in this format is so much fun, and I just love that Super7 continues to go deep with this ThunderCats line. The rivalry between Lion-O and Mumm-Ra is the heart of the franchise, and seeing them released side by side as con exclusives feels really special. These will be available at the Super7 Booth #2343 at SDCC 2026. No word yet on whether there will be an online option for collectors who can’t make it to San Diego, but we know that’s a big question on everyone’s mind. Only time will tell! So let’s take a look at the Super7 ULTIMATES Lion-O and Mumm-Ra Light Up Eyes Retro Cardback Toy Color SDCC 2026 Exclusives!
The retro-inspired cardback is a real love letter to the original Kenner packaging, with the classic ThunderCats logo splashed across the top in that familiar chrome-and-red gradient. Lion-O’s “Toy Color” variant sits inside a bubble tray surrounded by his swap-out hands and the Sword of Omens in both short and extended forms, all framed by that signature explosion-style burst behind the figure.

Lion-O’s “Toy Color” variant leans into that saturated, Saturday-morning cartoon palette, with bright orange skin, sky blue leotard, and deep navy boots that feel pulled straight from the animation cels. His accessories include the Sword of Omens in both dagger and full-length forms, a set of swap-out hands, and what appears to be a collection of red spirit fire effects sculpted with great texture and movement.

Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living gets the same retro cardback treatment, and his “Toy Color” variant is a gorgeous contrast of muted teal-green skin against those vivid red helmet tendrils and matching loincloth. You can see how his swap-out hands, the Sword of Plun-Darr, and what looks like a small decayed Mumm-Ra figure are all cast in that same monochromatic teal, keeping that classic toy-in-the-package aesthetic.

Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living’s full accessory spread is laid out here, and it’s a solid haul. The Sword of Plun-Darr features that jagged, serrated black blade with a red-wrapped hilt, while a smaller dagger with a textured grip rounds out his arsenal alongside multiple swap-out hands and the miniature decayed form.
