The MOTU Chronicles line on Mattel Creations has been delivering some of the most impressive large-scale Masters of the Universe figures we’ve seen in recent years, and now it looks like an iconic Snake Men villain is slithering his way into the series. A new tease posted in the Club Grayskull forums hints at what we’re pretty confident is a King Hiss figure, with the accompanying text reading “An ancient evil is about to join the highly detailed Masters of the Universe Chronicles series. Try not to get hypnotized by this sneak peek.” The language here is doing a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to narrowing down who this could be, because “ancient evil” and “hypnotized” both point squarely at the leader of the Snake Men, a character whose entire presence in the lore is built around deception and serpentine power. Now, could Mattel throw us a curveball and reveal someone else entirely? Sure, there’s always that possibility, but all signs point to King Hiss, and honestly that’s exactly the kind of deep cut this line should be pulling from at this stage. The Chronicles series has built its reputation on giving classic characters the premium, highly detailed treatment they deserve, and King Hiss in that format could be something truly special, especially if they lean into his dual nature with both the humanoid disguise and the horrifying snake torso reveal. A close-up of two sculpted details showing ornate serpent motifs with raised, curving forms and a central riveted medallion on what looks like armor plating with ridged vertical lines. The metallic finish on the snake carvings has a nice weight to it, and you can make out fang-like protrusions along the lower edge of the second detail.

The teaser image centers on a massive serpent head with a wide-open jaw, rows of individually sculpted fangs, and a forked tongue. The scales along the neck shift from a green tone into a metallic gold around the head, with deeply recessed eyes that give the sculpt it a very cool effect and if what we saw at SDCC 2026 for the MOTU Chronciles line, we are in for a treat.
