TARJAYY and WALMARIA GUARDS Champions of Nefarity Wave 2 Reveal

Hitting 1,000 subscribers on a Kickstarter notify page is no small milestone for any independent toy line, and @madhattertoyreviews decided to celebrate the occasion by pulling back the curtain on two of the most hilariously relatable figures in the Champions of Nefarity lineup: the Tarjayy Guard and the Walmaria Guard. If you’ve been following this satirical toy line since we first covered Wave 2 mystery figures at SDCC 2026, you know the whole premise of Champions of Nefarity is built on lampooning the absurdities of toy collecting culture, and these two guards might be the most on-the-nose concepts yet. Every collector has a story about being told their precious find is “one per customer” or that the item can’t be sold because it’s “not street dated yet,” and now those power-tripping retail gatekeepers have been immortalized in plastic form. I love how the line leans into the army-building angle here, encouraging collectors to pick their marketplace, pick their skin tone, and go deep with doubles and triples, because if there’s one thing we all know, it’s that these guards never work alone. The fact that Flip-Or hates them is, of course, all the reason you need to stock up. With multiple head options included and a community that’s clearly fired up in the comments, where fans are already dreaming up expansions like ancient Guards of Toyzarius and Walmaria greeters, this line continues to strike gold by turning the frustrations of the hobby into something genuinely fun. The Wave 2 Kickstarter hasn’t launched just yet, but with 1,000 subs already locked in on the notify page, the momentum behind Champions of Nefarity is looking very real.

TARJAYY and WALMARIA Renders

Two variants of the TARJAYY and WALMARIA Guards are shown side by side, the TARJAYY Guard in red armor with a darker skin tone and the WALMARIA Guard in blue armor with a lighter complexion. Both share the same base sculpt with matching helmet designs, chest armor with a circular emblem, furred trunks, cuffed boots, shields, and spears, but the color swap and skin tone difference give each one its own identity.

Here are the lighter skinned variants and both sets of armor really are on point, with the chest emblems featuring distinct designs, a sunburst pattern on the WALMARIA Guard and a bullseye-style target on the TARJAYY Guard.

Here are the darker skinned variants and the helmets on both Guards have a flat-topped, visor-style design with a narrow T-shaped opening that frames a stern, furrowed expression.

The back of both Guards shows the chest armor wrapping around with a clean, shell-like fit, and the fur texture on the trunks reads just as well from behind. Boot cuffs have a gathered, cinched sculpt at the top that adds a nice layer of detail to the lower half.

From the rear, the spear shafts run the full length of the figures, with the pointed tips matching the angular geometry of the shields.

The side profile highlights the angular spear tips and the way the shield edges taper to a sharp point on both figures.

The silver arm bands on both Guards have a smooth, rounded finish that contrasts with the textured surfaces around them.

The round shields on both Guards carry fine scratch marks sculpted into their surfaces, a worn, battle-damaged detail that adds character to the otherwise smooth, curved face of each shield. That’s a clever touch for army builders who want each figure to feel like it’s seen some action.

Here are the darker skinned versions from the shield side and the spear shafts have a smooth, uniform finish from end to end, broken only by the faceted geometry of the tips.

A side-by-side comparison shows the original concept art for the TARJAYY Guard next to an unpainted gray prototype sculpt. The prototype captures the helmet’s T-shaped visor opening and the bullseye chest emblem faithfully, and that battle-scarred round shield with its sculpted gouges and dents really come through even without paint.

The WALMARIA Guard’s concept art on the left shows the full blue armor design with a sunburst chest emblem and furred trunks, while the unpainted prototype of the TARJAYY Guard on the right. The prototype’s fur texture on the trunks has a rougher, more organic quality than the smoother rendering in the concept art.
