The NPC (Non-Playable Characters) Wave 1 campaign on BigBadLaunchPad is absolutely crushing it, and the SCHS Cheerleader squad is a big reason why. When we first covered BigBadToyStore’s launch of their BigBadLaunchPad platform, the concept of a crowdfunding space built specifically for the action figure community felt like something worth watching closely, and this campaign is proving the model works. At 240% funded and climbing, NPC Wave 1 has already blown past its 135% stretch goal, unlocking a free bonus accessory pack for the SCHS Cheerleader Team Captain that includes an alternate smiling portrait, long red hair piece, and blue-and-white gym bag. Now the campaign is closing in on its 250% funding goal, which would unlock a second free accessory set featuring an alternate screaming portrait and two additional pairs of hands. The Cheerleader lineup itself consists of three figures spanning different tiers and price points, starting with the SCHS Cheerleader Team Captain at $36.99, followed by the Cheerleader Flyer and Cheerleader Base at $29.99 each. All three feature over 20 points of articulation along with interchangeable parts and accessories, giving collectors plenty of options for building out the squad. What I find really compelling about this whole concept is how NPC leans into the idea of populating your shelves with characters that exist in the background of every story, the unnamed faces that fill out a world and give your displays a sense of life beyond the main heroes and villains. This is the full accessory layout for the SCHS Cheerleader Team Captain, and the spread is generous: a megaphone, water bottle, snacks packet, five alternate hands, two alternate portraits, an alternate hair piece, and a duffle bag among the bonus unlock items. The duffle bag has a chunky, structured sculpt with a zippered top and carrying handles.
The blonde alternate hair piece has a long, flowing sculpt with layered waves that drape well past the shoulders. Each pom-pom has a dense, textured sculpt with individually defined strands bunched tightly together.
The SCHS Cheerleader Team Captain’s blonde head sculpt has a wide, open-mouthed smile with well-defined teeth and a cheerful expression that nails the character. The “SCHS” megaphone graphic on the crop top is crisp and centered, with stars and a small pom detail flanking the lettering.
The yellow skirt has a pleated sculpt with a blue stripe running along the hem, matching the blue-and-white color scheme of the crop top. Her white sneakers have a clean, simple design with a low-cut profile that fits the cheerleader aesthetic well.

The SCHS Cheerleader Base features a crop top uniform with blue sleeves and a yellow-trimmed skirt, along with white knee-high socks striped in blue. Accessories include a pair of alternate pom-pom hands, a cell phone, and a base stand.

The head sculpt has a warm, natural smile with sculpted teeth and dark hair swept to one side in a flowing shape. This is a digital render, so the final production piece could shift slightly, but the proportions and facial detail are promising at this scale.
Bonus Unlocks
The Cheerleader Team Captain has officially hit its 135% bonus unlock, adding a nice batch of extra display options to the figure. The bonus set includes an alternate smiling portrait with short hair, a separate long red hairstyle, and a blue-and-white gym bag with a removable top. I really like that the alternate head and hair give collectors another way to change up the character’s look, while the gym bag adds a fun accessory that fits naturally with the cheerleader theme. These bonus accessories are free and will be automatically included with every qualifying Cheerleader Team Captain figure.
The next Cheerleader Team Captain bonus unlock comes at 250% funding, adding even more personality and posing options to the figure. This set includes an alternate screaming portrait with a wide-open mouth and expressive eyes, along with two pairs of alternate hands featuring different grips and gestures. I really like that screaming portrait because it completely changes the energy of the figure and should work especially well for more animated cheerleading poses. Like the previous unlock, these accessories will be included free with every qualifying Cheerleader Team Captain figure if the funding goal is reached.
