Cowabunga! Huge thanks to @msmithtmnt for posting these amazing in hand images of the TMNT Cowabunga Forever 90s Movie Figures 5 Pack re-release! We previously reported on these in package image in our TMNT Movie 5 Pack & 1988 Classic Figures Re-Release Early Look article. Now we get to take a look at them out of package! The original 90s Turtles movie holds such a special place in so many of our hearts, and getting a fresh chance to grab these figures as a complete set is super exciting for anyone who missed out the first time around. I love how these capture that classic movie aesthetic, and that Shredder is looking incredible. The whole set together just makes for such a fun display. So let’s take a look at the TMNT Cowabunga Forever 90s Movie Figures 5 Pack!
Huge thanks to msmithtmnt on Instagram, we now have this Hi-Res image update on the packaging for the 90’s Movie 5-Pack. You can really see all that TMNT Movie figure goodness with a closer detailed look! The packaging on this 5-pack is a love letter to the ’90s movies, with a sewer brick archway framing the window and a cityscape illustration up top showing all four Turtles peeking out from a manhole cover. The bottom panel features artwork of Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo, and Super Shredder posed in a sewer tunnel setting, each loaded up with their signature weapons and looking like they stepped right out of *Secret of the Ooze*.
Super Shredder is loaded with silver spiked armor covering his shoulders, gauntlets, shins, and belt, all contrasting sharply against that deep purple bodysuit underneath. You can see how he comes with a canister of ooze, a second ooze canister set beside him, a grey muzzle accessory, and that massive spear with a wood-toned shaft and silver blade.
Raphael’s got that classic scowl and toothy grin the 1990 movie sculpt is known for, with his red mask tails trailing behind his head and deep scale texture across every inch of green skin. The orange weapons sprue sitting beside him includes his signature sai, a grappling hook, a shuriken, and what looks like a kama, all still on the runner and ready to be popped off.
Michelangelo’s sculpt carries that same movie-accurate skin texture, with bumpy, uneven scales running across his arms and legs and deep stitch lines carved into his plastron. His accessories come on an orange sprue that includes nunchucks, a grappling hook, shuriken, and a kusarigama, all molded with nice rope-wrap detailing on the handles.
Donatello’s purple mask tails hang loosely behind his head, and the sculpted teeth in that wide grin give him a ton of personality. His accessories come on an orange sprue alongside two purple bo staffs, with shuriken, a grappling hook, and arrow-tipped weapons filling out the rest of the rack.
Leonardo’s blue mask, wrist wraps, and knee pads pop against that mottled green skin, and the brown bandolier strap running across his chest adds a nice bit of Movie-specific costuming you don’t always see on turtle figures. The orange weapons rack includes two katana with blue-wrapped grips, a shuriken, a grappling hook, and a sai-style weapon, all still attached to the sprue.
