On WWE.com, they revealed the official images of Big Van Vader and Captain Lou Albano! If you recall, on day two of Wrestlemania 39, Mattel changed up their booth display and put prototypes of Big Van Vader and Captain Lou Albano in the display case so it is great to see what the official figures look like and the card they come on. Captain Lou Albano and Big Van Vader are WWE Superstars Series 7, along with Hulk Hogan and Rowdy Roddy Piper!

Captain Lou Albano

Captain Lou Albano is dressed in his yellow and black shirt on the front of the card and you can see the Captain Lou shirt peeking through. On the back of the card, it has his famous sayings, “Often imitated but never duplicated, “I’m Captain Lou and I’m talking to you!,” and “I’m a legend in my own mind.”

He comes with his soft goods shirt and pants, his signature gold chain, a breakaway gold record, and an extra set of hands.

Big Van Vader

Vader is packed with his fabric cape on, paying homage to his classic look! He also has his infamous sayings on the back which include, “It’s Vader time, “The Mastodon,” and I fear no man…I feel no pain.”

He comes with his fabric cape and extra hands (gloved and ungloved).

He looks fantastic with his cape on and this adds to the displayability of the figure!

The Vader mask came out great and it is sculpted into his head so you can’t remove it (but why would you??).

Where to Buy

It was only back in April 2023 when Big Van Vader and Captain Lou Albano were revealed for the WWE Superstars line. Flash forward to the end of May and we’ve discovered the Walmart product pages for these upcoming figures. WWE Superstars Series 6 was only revealed a few days ago so and we discovered the Walmart listings for Mr. Perfect and Bam Bam Bigelow. We are guessing that Vader and Albano make up the start of Series 7. Who will make up the remaining two slots? Only time will tell!

Captain Lou Albano and Big Van Vader Reveal

On day two of Wrestlemania 39, Mattel changed up their booth and put prototypes of Big Van Vader and Captain Lou Albano in the display case. Accompanying the new reveals are what looks like a soft goods wrestling gear pack along with carded figures of Mr. T, Ravishing Rick Rude, Typhoon, and Earthquake. We wanted to send a HUGE THANK you to Kyle Peterson for sending these photos as he is at Wrestlemania 39 so he got to see these figures in person! Also, we’d like to thank Ringside Collectibles for thier coverage as well! You can also check out the Mr. Perfect and Bam Bam Bigelow reveals from Wrestlemania Day 1. During Day 2 of the largest event in sports entertainment, the prototypes of Captain Lou Albano and Big Van Vader were on display along a plethora of soft goods.

Hopefully, the soft goods set on display is a pack that they are creating for the future but if not, these could be teases for new figures.

Captain Lou Albano Prototype

Captain Lou is seen sporting his classic beard that was tied up with rubber bands and his classic cross chain.

His yellow shirt is intricately detailed and we are not sure if the shirt will have black markings on it as this is a prototype.

His soft goods shirt pays homage to the yellow shirt was sometimes seen in, as depicted in this image with George The Animal Steele.

There was also a digital render revealed for Captain Lou and it looks like he is coming with. break away gold record.

Captain Lou Albano History

Captain Lou Albano, born on July 29, 1933, in Rome, Italy, was a professional wrestler and manager who became a well-known figure in the wrestling industry during the 1980s. Albano started his wrestling career in 1953, and he quickly made a name for himself as a villainous character. He was known for his outlandish behavior, unique style, and trademark rubber bands. Albano also had a successful tag team career with partner Tony Altimore, known as The Sicilians. In the 1970s, Albano shifted his focus to managing and became one of the most successful and recognizable managers in the industry. He managed a number of high-profile wrestlers, including Andre the Giant, The Wild Samoans, and The Iron Sheik. Albano was known for his over-the-top personality and his trademark Hawaiian shirts, and he was often involved in storylines as a villainous manager who would stop at nothing to help his wrestlers win. Albano gained even more fame in the 1980s when he became the spokesperson for the World Wrestling Federation’s (WWF) Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Connection. He appeared in music videos alongside pop stars like Cyndi Lauper and appeared on numerous talk shows to promote the WWF. In addition to his wrestling and managing career, Albano also appeared in films and television shows, including The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! in which he played the role of Mario’s nemesis, King Koopa. Albano retired from wrestling in 1995 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996. He passed away on October 14, 2009, at the age of 76 due to natural causes.

Big Van Vader Prototype

You can hear the call, “It’s time…it’s time…it’s Vader time!” as Mattel has revealed Big Van Vader using the chonky buck they revealed for Typhoon and Earthquake. His mask is intricately detailed and we are not sure if this is a removable mask or a sculpted on piece. He comes with a fluffy soft goods cape as he sometimes came down to the ring in this attire.

There was also a digital render revealed for Vader and no hint to other accessories he might come with.

Big Van Vader History

Big Van Vader was a professional wrestler who gained fame in the 1990s wrestling scene. He was born on May 14, 1955, in Lynwood, California, as Leon White. Before entering the world of professional wrestling, Vader had a successful career as an American football player. He played for the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the USFL. Vader began his wrestling career in 1985 in the American Wrestling Association (AWA) as Baby Bull. He later wrestled in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) under the name Big Van Vader, where he gained fame and became a dominant force in the ring. He won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship three times and became known for his stiff, hard-hitting style. Vader then moved on to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1990, where he continued his success and became a multiple-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He also had stints in the WWF (now WWE) and All Japan Pro Wrestling, where he won numerous championships and accolades. Throughout his career, Vader was known for his imposing size and athleticism, as well as his unique mask and Vader bomb finishing move. He retired from professional wrestling in 2017 and passed away on June 18, 2018, at the age of 63 due to heart complications.
