Blast Attak MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Official Images and Preorder

It is always a great feeling when a hunch actually pays off, and today is one of those moments because Blast Attak has officially been confirmed as the next MOTU Origins Mattel Creations exclusive, going live on January 28, 2026 at 9am PT, and I am genuinely pumped to finally see this one locked in. We had been suspecting Blast Attak was up next for a while now, especially after the release of the Great Black Wizard, since the shared tooling between the two figures made the writing feel very much on the wall, and it is incredibly satisfying to see that speculation turn into a full-on confirmation. Blast Attak is one of those deep cut characters that longtime Masters of the Universe fans have been asking for years, and seeing him make the jump into the Origins line feels like another strong signal that Mattel Creations is not slowing down when it comes to digging deep into MOTU lore. I love how this continues the recent momentum of slightly unexpected choices that still make total sense when you step back and look at the broader strategy for Origins exclusives, and it keeps that sense of anticipation alive because you never quite know which character is coming next. The January timing also feels perfect, giving collectors something big to kick off the year, and if the Great Black Wizard release is anything to go by, this is going to be a drop that people circle on their calendars and set reminders for. I will definitely be watching closely as we get closer to January 28, because this one feels like it is going to move fast.

January 22, 2026 Update: Blast Attak Official Images

Huge thanks to Toy Hunters Hollow for the heads up and it is always exciting when things move from confirmation to visuals, and now collectors can finally dig into the official images of Blast Attak, which have just been revealed and posted on Mattel Creations. After the earlier confirmation that Blast Attak is the next MOTU Origins exclusive, seeing the figure fully photographed really helps lock in what to expect ahead of the January 28 drop, and it is great to have clean, official shots straight from the source for a closer look and some proper inspection. I love that Blast Attak is packed on a card vs. the deluxe boxes we have been seeing recently.

The artwork is pure chaos, with Blast Attak charging forward as sparks and debris fly from the impact, his mechanical limbs angled as if he’s mid strike and closing the distance fast. In the upper left, Rotar is teased with his spinning arms in motion, while the lower left corner gives us a glimpse of Twistoid twisting into the action, and I love how those nods feel tucked into the mayhem rather than staged. King Hiss lurks in the background, watching it all unfold, which adds that classic sense of looming control while the scene keeps pushing forward with nonstop movement.

Blast Attak MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Exclusive Card Back

The figure looks straight out of the vintage line, with the familiar gold chest armor packed with sculpted tech details, gray mechanical limbs, green boots and gloves, and that classic masked head sculpt staring forward as if he’s ready to trigger the feature. I like how the action feature is fully intact here, with the removable detonator unit and tubing that connects back to the body, letting you recreate that explosive play pattern just like before. The red techno style halberd sits alongside him, all sharp angles and peg details, and it feels ready to be swung into action the moment he’s posed.

Here you can see the figure pulled apart at the torso just like the vintage release, with the chest splitting cleanly down the middle to show how the internal mechanism is designed to separate. I really like how the break point and alignment stay true to the original, letting you recreate that classic exploding action while still keeping everything easy to reassemble.

The figure is planted forward with the red techno halberd gripped in both hands, swinging into the fight as he squares off against He Man and Man At Arms. I like how the pose captures that moment of impact, with his stance angled aggressively and the weapon cutting across the scene as the other two close in, shields and weapons raised.

Blast Attak MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Exclusive 4

The figure is captured mid blast with the torso split cleanly apart, legs and arms thrown wide as the action feature fires and sends both halves flying backward. I love how the separation feels frozen at the peak of the moment, with the chest plates fully disengaged and the limbs still posed as if the attack just landed, selling that sudden reversal in the fight.

Blast Attak MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Exclusive 3

The mini comic cover shows Blast Attak erupting at the center with his torso split apart mid detonation, arms raised as the mechanism fires and sends everything outward. Scareglow and Skeletor are right there in the chaos, both charging in with weapons up, framing the blast as they clash around him, and I like how the scene locks in that exact instant when the action feature changes the fight.

Blast-Attak

Blast Attak was first teased on the trail that leads to Snake Mountain on the Eternia box art. In the Masters of the Universe lore, Blast-Attak is generally considered an ally of the Snake Men, although he is depicted as a villain overall, sometimes working alongside Skeletor’s forces.

Like most MOTU figures, Blast-Attak came packaged on a blister card, featuring bold artwork of the character exploding in action. The back of the card provided instructions on how to activate his self-destruct feature as well as showcasing other figures in the series.

The card art features Blast-Attak, illustrated by Errol McCarthy, taking on a Horde Trooper and Mosquitor as he blows himself up, assuming to take them with him in the blast.

Blast-Attak has a gray, gold, and green color scheme with red highlights and his body is designed to look mechanical, with visible bolts and circuitry. This figure had a very steampunk look and feel to it and his body has a distinctive robotic, armored look with a faceplate that resembles a grimacing living being underneath.

A member of the Evil Warriors and later the Snake Men, Blast-Attak is an android built as a walking time bomb. After a certain pre-set period of time, he will explode and cause immense damage to his surroundings, before reforming automatically. You can see the inner workings of the figure below and how he comes apart.

The knee and lower leg areas between the Great Black Wizard and vintage Blast Attak figures share matching sculpt details, including the circular knee cap design and the mechanical patterning along the shins.

The thigh sculpt on the Great Black Wizard figure clearly matches the vintage Blast Attak design, with identical thigh panel lines and mechanical detailing along the sides. You can see how the molded ridges and tubing replicate the same segmented structure, lining up with what we’d expect a Blast Attak MOTU Origins figure to feature.

From the rear, the mechanical detailing on the Great Black Wizard’s thighs lines up nicely with the vintage Blast Attak sculpt, showing the similar raised tubing and panel segments along the back of the legs.
