Cobra Commander GI Joe Classified Series Retro Cardback In Hand Image

Special thanks to Lenny (aka weatherdominator) from the Joe team for wishing all of the Dad’s out there a happy Father’s Day! We are so thrilled for his wishes as he posted another image of the retro Cardback Mickey Mouse Cobra Commander GI Joe Classified Series figure! The cool part of this is we get to now visualize what the retro cardback figure will look like as the Classified Series version of Cobra Commander is standing next to the 3 3/4″ carded version from the HasLab Skystriker! This is not the first time we’ve seen a painted version of CoCo but it’s amazing to see him rear his chrome face life this! We hope that this version of Cobra Commander will use art from his vintage carded design and hopefully Hasbro does not just reuse the card art from the HasLab Skystriker version but, with the image posed like this, we could very well be getting this version of the card art. Only time will tell but it’s great to see CoCo again as he looks stunning and they nailed that Cobra blue!

Cobra Commander Painted Images

Thanks to amazing painter, sculptor and designer, thegreattonino, we can see a painted version of the Mickey Mouse Cobra Commander that will be coming with the HasLab Hiss Tank! The Mickey Mouse version of the symbol was the first run of the figure that was a mail away and Hasbro changed the design with the carded release of the figure back in the 1982.

It’s amazing to see behind the scenes photos of the painting and process on how the parts fit together. You can see the prototype figure uses any parts that are translucent and solid.
